What a joyful Experience! I learned a lot with great cooking instruction and a delicious chicken tagine, bread instruction and a tea experience. Wonderful teachers, open to lots of questions and sharing.

Excellent cooking class with 3 Chef's. We were the only 2 guests and were treated Royally. Food was absolutely delicious. We have friends who also have experienced this class and it was highly recommended. We would go back again.
An excellent local cooking experience in a beautiful but traditional setting. The moment you walk in this place, the staff cordially receive you, give you water & take time to get to know everyone before explaining the process of this event. Nothing is rushed and you are treated as royalty. The kitchen is very clean, well equipped & the cooking areas allow two people per station with food items that are partially pre-prepped. Instructions are clearly given & demonstrated by the lead chef as you participate in making your own meal. While the food was cooking, we were invited to sit & drink tea which was accompanied by conversations of culture with time for questions. When the meal was cooked, we were invited to sit at a nicely decorated table & enjoyed the delicious food with other guests. My wife & I highly recommend Blue Door Cuisine. Truly, a taste of Moroccan hospitality & their splendid table fare.
We loved the experience at Blue Door. The team were so friendly and we really enjoyed chatting with them. The cooking was fun and easy to follow. The premises were very clean. Of course we were able to eat what we’d made and we’ve received the recipes for the food. We would highly recommend a visit and cooking class. Thank you so much Blue Door.
Great experience with superb staff, great food and an enjoyable fun afternoon. I finally learned how to use the tangine that’s been on my shelf for 10 years! Lol. Definitely book this
Shared a wonderful morning with the ladies at Blue Door Cuisine making bread and enjoying a tea ceremony. The bread was wonderful and the tea lovely. They gave us a wonderful tea time with the bread we made and other delicacies. The cookies made by Fatima’s sister were delicious. Great experience.
Excellent experience. All organized and fun. Food was outstanding as well.
Excellent experience, staff very very friendly and made you feel at ease. Loved the bread making . Would highly recommend and would certainly visit again.
From the moment we arrived, we felt like family. The doorman Said greeted us with a big hug, and inside we met Nadia, Delelia and Samia. They were most gracious in hosting us and we visited like reunited family, with lots of laughter and smiles. We probed up and were introduced gently to the art of cooking the Moroccan way, preparing a chicken tangine with finely chopped vegetables and spices. As the food was cooking, Nadia hosted a very informative tea ceremony, explaining the provenance of the various spices used to enhance the mint tea. All in all it was a wonderful evening, and I would recommend the experience to anyone.
The staff were so welcoming, and took time to get to know us, and then we started cooking together. There was a lot of laughter that went along with the learning. The tea was epic, and then, we ate what we had made. One of our best international food experiences. As I write we are making our first Moroccan meal at home - inspired by what we experienced. - A must do experience in Tangier.
Absolutely DO NOT MISS THIS!!! We spent a week in Morocco and this was, by far, our favorite experience while we were there (and one of our favorite travel experiences of all time). From the moment we arrived, we were treated like friends and we just had the best experience. Our teachers were Fatima, Lena, and Nouhaila and they were so kind, so full of life and love for their country and their jobs, and it was a night to remember. We did the seafood tagine and it was absolutely delicious! If you're in Tangier, highly recommend this.
We had a wonderful time making bread and tea with Fatima and her team. They were knowledgeable and welcoming and we enjoyed this cultural experience very much!!
Blue Door Moroccan cooking experience was an upscale, fun family experience from the first greeting at the door to sitting in the beautiful dining room enjoying our delicious tajin meal that we prepared together. Moroccan nationals were our families excellent and hospitable instructors, making sure we enjoyed every moment. We were greeted warmly by our 4 hosts, introducing ourselves to one another before we began making delicious bread. We then moved to a different cooking room in the delightful apartment where Blue Door is located to prepare our main dish, a traditional chicken and vegetable tajin. It was such a fun family experience, expertly guided by our caring hosts. While our gourmet food finished cooking, we enjoyed being served Moroccan tea, prepared and served from a beautiful tea service in the living room. We were invited to ask our hosts any questions about Moroccan culture. Finally, we were ushered into a beautiful dining room with views to the strait of Gibraltar and beautiful furnishings to enjoy our delicious meal. The hosts and owners truly make this an authentic, engaging and tasty experience! I highly recommend adding this experience to your visit to Tangier! Thank you Blue Door for giving us not only an excellent taste of authentic Moroccan cuisine but also the delightful hospitality of Moroccan culture.
Amazing experience. The hospitality was authentic and so welcoming. The cooking was fun and engaging. The food turned out delicious and the tea was exceptional. Highly recommend for an authentic Moroccan cooking experience.
Absolutely fantastic. The food , the lovely people , and now i can make my own Tangine at home ! And of course we ate everything we cooked at the end of the class. One of the highlights of my trip .
What a great experience! Not only did I come away knowing how to cook a delicious tangine (and more) but I really enjoyed the company of our kind, endearing hosts. A very upmarket, first class tour- highly recommend!
We had the BEST time in our cooking class! The staff were so knowledgeable, kind and helpful! They took time to get to know us, never rushed us, asked great questions, and were just overall warm and friendly! The food we made was superb! Would highly recommend everyone going to Blue Door!
The Blue Door cooking class was excellent! A perfect combination of hands-on experience and learning about Moroccan customs and cuisine. The instructors made it feel like cooking with friends - especially kind, gracious, patient friends! We highly recommend this experience.
The experience was amazing and everyone visiting Tangier should do this. We learned to cook and saw the community oven. The staff was amazing. They were friendly and so funny. This is a great way to experience a city.
Absolutely the best part of our trip to Tangier. The staff were brilliant, incredibly friendly and knowledgable - it felt like visiting friends and I’ll definitely be making use of my tagine to cook the delicious recipe again . I can’t recommend highly enough
What a wonderful experience it was to cook in Tim's kitchen with Fatima and her team! We made traditional Moroccan bread, prepared our tagine, and while everything was cooking had traditional tea with wonderful discussions about Tangier and Morocco. Our dinner was outstanding and everything was done just right. I highly recommend this activity if you want to spend an enjoyable dinnertime in Tangier. I'm inspired to cook tagine at home.
What an amazing experience we had. One of our hosts medicine our car walked us through the old city to the event site. We were greeted with such wonderful hospitality. We made fish tangerine from scratch, including preparing the marinade. I would recommend this for anybody that loves a great experience.
An absolutely amazing afternoon of cooking and culture, friendship and fun. DONT MISS THIS IF YOU ARE IN TANGIER. Delicious food, and great recipes.
What a wonderful experience!! The girls who helped us and the chef were excellent and have precise and easy to follow direction. The tea service was delightful
We visited Blue Door as part of an excursion from our ship the Crystal Serenity. We were greeted at the door by very friendly women who escorted us inside. The whole experience, the tea, the hand washing, the food preparation, the bread demonstration was very well done. The meal was wonderful and the ambiance great. Highly recommended. One of the best excursions we have been on in three months.
This was the highlight of our trip! My husband and I did the class with our children (11, 8, and 3). Tim has created an amazing culinary dive into Moroccan cuisine led by three amazing women (Fatima, Nourhaila, and Fadoua). Our recipes were passed down by generations of women in Fatima's family, and they were amazing! By the end of the amazing tea ceremony and meal, our usually standoffish 3 year old was crying for all three women, and didn't want to leave! Thank you all for the amazing experience!
Came here with my school had the best cooking experience in Tangier making tajine and tea there are also items for purchase that are priced very reasonably
What a wonderful experience! We learned how to make mint tea, and we each got to make our own Moroccan bread. While it was baking in the community oven, we had wonderful mint tea. After the bread was cooked, we were treated to several items to taste with our bread - oil, honey, almond butter, assorted olives and goat cheese. There was also several cookies we could taste.
Wow, this was a private cooking experience for my husband and I..We made bread and cooked a Moroccan chicken dish in a Tagine. Had some Moroccan Tea meet some beautiful young ladies that were very helpful in the explaining the ingredients as we added each to our dish. Tim the owner was great to work with, the time that I scheduled was no longer available and he sent a message immediately and offered a better time that work for us and for the inconvenience he paid for our taxi back to the ship, which we truly appreciated… Thanks again, your team provided an excellent experience for my husband and I , we promptly bought a Tagine ..
We had read up about Blue Door Cuisine before arriving in Tangier. We wandered past and decided to pop upstairs to see if they had any availability while we were in the city. Meriem warmly welcomed us and helped us book onto a class a day or two later. When we arrived, the entire team gave us a very warm welcome, introduced us to the other guests, and talked us through the entire process. Everything, from the bread making to the tea and the tagines, was well presented and easy to follow. And the food we prepared together was absolutely delicious. We left with a newfound confidence in preparing a cuisine we love and look forward to many delicious tagines at home. Our sincere thanks to Meriem, Nouhaila and the rest of the team.
This was our first time in Morocco AND our first DAY. This was the perfect welcome! The ladies were amazing and professional. We felt like family! There were various courses and all were special and amazing. We highly recommend.
I booked this tour as soon as our cruise was confirmed and I was so excited to be able to experience real Moroccan cuisine and the ability to make the recipe my self with the helpful female staff there!
The experience to cook Moroccan quisines with the blue door was the best choice I have ever made. Our hosts were the nicest people we have ever met, they were open to answering any questions, from facts to personal questions. They had such great energy, with making jokes all the time, making us laugh, and just being extremely nice to all of us. At the end of it all, I felt guilty because of how nice they were to me. Thank you so much for the experience.
Blue Door Cuisine provided an excellent cooking experience. The female instructors were delightful, great cooks with in-depth knowledge of their foods and culture. They were friendly and encouraged us through all of our cooking steps. The kitchen is clean and well set up. You get to eat in a pleasant dining room, sitting at 6-tops, and with a view of the street from above. There is tea service after the meal with dessert provided. All spices are available to buy, and we got an apron! I loved it!
My husband and I take quite a few cooking classes as we travel throughout the world, and this was absolutely one of the best experiences that we’ve had. It provides more than just a cooking class, which, of course they do extremely well, but it allows you to interact on a very intimate level with their team. We always enjoy talking to people from the place and getting to know their views and cultural values and these women were a delight. (As was Tim, the owner, who later joined us in the feast we prepared. ) Every member of the 3 or 4 member team was enthusiastic and so genuinely welcoming! They elevated the experience beyond any of the other classes we have taken. The bread, seafood tagine (which we made), delicious special mint tea, and various salads that the team prepared, made for a very tasty traditional Moroccan meal. All the ingredients were fresh from the market. Fatima has been cooking for several years with the team and is an excellent lead chef. Every member of the team are also highly capable of leading the class. Their home is perfect for the classes. It was in an old building which was charming and comfortably cool. There is a separate room with beautifully set up modern cooking stations where it is easy to see and hear the lead chef. Fadoua spoke excellent English as did Lena and Tim’s delightful young daughter. The dining room is lovely and very attractively styled. All in all, an excellent cooking experience!!
Perfect change of pace after a busy morning. We did the royal couscous experience and there was another group of 5 tourists with us, but it was cool to meet them. Lina did a wonderful job leading the experience. It felt authentic. I highly recommend.
This was the highlight of our visit to Tangier. The ladies who taught the class were extremely welcoming, friendly, and patient with my lack of cooking prowess. My wife and I were instanly made to feel at home. It was wonderful to learn about the local dishes and to get to create a traditional meal from scratch. The end result was the best meal of our vacation to Spain and Morocco. Beyond the food, it was great to get to know the hosts and learn about their culture throughout the process. The formal tea was also phenomenal! I cannot recommend this experience enough. Make time for it, you will not regret it!
Excellent! Learned about Moroccan culture, food and Blue Door. Exceptional hospitality! We thoroughly enjoyed our cooking class and the delicious food! This was an excursion on our SeaDreams cruise.
This was one of our favorite things that we experienced in Morocco! We enjoyed meeting the young women and hearing stories about their lives. They shared great recipes that we will use at home. By the end of our time, we felt like part of the family while we shared the food we made.
This was an absolutely wonderful experience! We toured the market then went to the school where we learned how to make bread, how to prepare festive tea (delicious) and in the beautifully appointed kitchen made chicken tagine which we then ate ate for lunch along with wonderful vegetable salads, our homemade bread and lovely cookies for dessert with more tea. The ladies who taught us were kind, patient and very informative. At the end of the afternoon we left with a wonderful new recipe to try at home and a much better understanding of Morocco. It was a highlight of the entire trip. One caveat - the school is on the 5 th story of a building with no elevator.
Incredible experience and do not leave Tangier without booking this class. We started with a market tour, then headed over to the Blue Door home base and were warmly greeted by the staff and the owner, Tim. The place has a large open kitchen and another room with five complete cooking stations - kind of like Top Chef! First up - Moroccan bread making and the woman who taught us is a master. The uncooked loaves were then taken to a nearby public oven for baking. We then went to our cooking stations and cooked our own chicken tagines, starting from scratch doing all the chopping and seasoning ourselves. The staff was there to help if needed. While the tagines were cooking and the bread was baking, we then learned how to make traditional Moroccan tea. To say the meal was delicious would be an understatement! It was wonderful! It was the staff who really made this experience as great as it was. They’re all knowledgeable, warm, inviting, and giving. And they laugh a lot. I was desperate to see the public oven so Tim had one of his staff take there. Don’t miss it. And again, take this class. It will immerse you in the culture - and you’ll learn something. Congrats to Blue Door Cuisine for designing such a great experience!
Totally awesome. A 110% recommendation. I had read gold reviews, but was overwhelmed anyway. So friendly and kind atmosphere and I really loved the opportunity to share some words about our lives with your lives. Even though they differ, we are the one and same soul. Love you!! Will definitely come back!
Learning about and creating Moroccan food was fun and informative. The experience was educational and delicious. The staff was lovely and the whole experience was rewarding!
What an amazing experience! Getting to learn how to make the royal couscous and mint tea was a treat. All of the staff were very warm and inviting. I would highly recommend to all.
We came and did the Royal couscous and mint tea class and it was fantastic! I learned so much and loved being able to cook it myself too. It was also delicious!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful and had no problem answering all of our questions. I highly recommend this experience for any one of all ages, you will not be disappointed!
I loved the experience at Blue Door Cuisine. We learned how to make bread, a traditional dish, and tea. The owner is extremely kind, he welcomed us with open arms and went above and beyond. The team of workers are extremely nice and made the experience very enjoyable. I highly recommend this to any tourists or travelers who love food or just want to learn more about the Moroccan culture!
The cooking class was so much fun and so informational! You really get a small glimpse of what Moroccan hospitality, culture and food looks like. The team in charge of our cultural food experience were so kind and such fun to speak with! My friends and I really enjoyed it and definitely would go again! Such good food too!
My group and I had an amazing evening at Blue Door! The instruction and food were amazing, and we really enjoyed getting to learn about Moroccan culture with the staff. We exchanged many jokes and laughs, and we felt like family!
What an incredible experience! I was a bit nervous but they make you feel right home- so friendly and welcoming! The mint tea is delicious and learning how to make couscous was incredible. Really any cooking class you take you will love! 10/10!!
What an amazing experience! Warm, friendly, professional staff, who welcomed, informed and assisted us with great care. Every part of this experience was well thought through and organized, leading to a fun, informative, enjoyable time for us all. The ingredients were all high quality, the equipment was very user friendly, giving space for us to have fun together as we learnt. I would highly recommend this as a cultural experience as well as a really fun way to learn to cook authentic Moroccan food with friends. Very happy to have found Blue door Cuisine.
