What began as a holiday in hell turned very pleasant and reassuring when we got to the Royal Tulip. I can already see many reviews naming the staff but honestly Aya was just amazing. She made us feel welcome, always checked in with us every morning. My friend told her about my birthday and on the morning of my birthday wished me a happy birthday then got my room decorated. When we returned from the beach she had one of the waiters deliver a really nice birthday cake which we wanted to share with her. The stay at the Tulip was amazing! Not only Aya but all the staff, even the concierge and kitchen staff were very polite, friendly, attentive and just wonderful. I can see why everyone’s saying good things. This place really made our holiday worth it 🙌

The size and layout of the suite on floor 7, was very good. That's where the good ends .... Reception service is terrible, when there is someone there of course. The bar off of reception is manned when the staff feel like showing up, and when they do, they dissappear as fast as they arrived. Breakfast is extremely limited and the same every day. The line chefs have a look on their faces as if the job is punishment. Beds so tired you sink into them, like laying in a bathtub! My parents in law changed rooms because her side of the bed was 20cm lower than her husband. They moved back as the replacement room and bed was worse. Lol The gym is cool, well equipped and not busy. What we loved most was the poor insulation between rooms so we had an 18+ sonic show from the room above ... Talking of poor sound insulation, the beeping traffic resonated through our large balcony windows up to and past 3am. Venturing out the hotel, the street connecting the hotel to all the nearby restaurants was a run the gauntlet of cockroaches, cigarette butts and dodgy characters. If you love all of the above and also a poor 3-star hotel with a 5-Star badge, you should book it right away. Never again.
The hotel is advertised as a 5-star hotel, but unfortunately, I don’t think it deserves a 5-star rating. In my opinion, it would be more suitable for a 3- or 4-star hotel. The swimming pool was quite small, especially for a 5-star hotel, and the food was very average with nothing particularly impressive. The overall facilities and experience did not feel like what you would expect from a 5-star property. Also while taking shower the water would splash and spread all over the bathroom floor I and I had to put towels on the floor to absorb the water as it was slippery before calling for it to get mopped . Most importantly, the price we paid was far too high compared to what the hotel actually offers. We expected a much higher level of service, facilities, and overall experience for the amount we paid. Overall, the experience was okay, but definitely not worth the price and did not meet the standards or expectations of a 5-star hotel.
Fabulous hotel with great service. Rooms are beautifull and clean. We had Pool and ocean view. Just great!
Our stay at Royal Tulip City Center Tanger from March 1st to March 3rd had some positives, but overall fell short of expectations. The location is convenient, breakfast offered a good variety of food, and housekeeping did a solid job keeping the room clean. However, several issues impacted our experience. Despite requesting a high floor one month in advance, we were assigned a low floor with no explanation. Shortly after check-in, the bathroom door lock malfunctioned while I was inside, leaving me trapped. Maintenance arrived quickly but could not unlock the door from the outside. After more than 30 minutes, they had to remove the entire door to get me out, and we were then required to change rooms close to midnight—losing valuable rest time. Surprisingly, there was no apology or gesture from management. In the new room, the shower water temperature was unstable, switching between cold and very hot, which felt unsafe. Breakfast, while varied, was let down by poor cleanliness in the dining area, with dirty tables and no staff attending to them. Overall, while there are some strengths, the experience reflected poor maintenance, lack of attention to guest requests, and weak service recovery. Improvements are clearly needed.
