Itinerary
Dive into the pure, fresh flavours of Estonia with a hands-on cooking class that celebrates local ingredients and traditional recipes. Estonian cooking class is a culinary journey through Estonia where we learn to cook authentic and traditional Estonian dishes - the ones that we love and eat daily. Under the guidance of skilled instructors, you’ll learn to create a typical Estonian 3-course meal, from start to finish. As Estonian cuisine is very seasonal, the menu varies and depends on what season we are in. But this class is more than just cooking – it’s a lively, interactive experience filled with fun, laughter, and a deeper connection to Estonia’s gastronomic heritage. Once the cooking is done, you’ll savour the fruits of your labour together, sharing stories and flavours around the table. Perfect for travellers who want to taste and take home the authentic flavours of Estonia!

We had such a lovely experience cooking and making new friends! The food was delicious and we learned a lot about Estonian culture as well as food. They were also accommodating for allergies and dietary requests.
Three of us traveled to Copenhagen, Helsinki and Tallin. This was one of the highlights of our trip. One of us was a vegetarian. We reached out ahead of time and Reilika was amazing. She explained thoroughly how her kitchen operated, the planned menu and all the ways that she could accommodate a vegetarian diet. The facility was beautiful and centrally located. We met some other travelers and had such a great time cooking, chatting and dining with them that we ended up meeting up with them later on our trip. If I could give it six stars, I would.
Relika, was a friendly and informative host and her kitchen was well organized. The menu was simple, barley quick bread, potato salad, cabbage rolls with white sauce, fried potatoes and something like an apple tart. Relika provide the ingredients and recipe, but we put the recipes together. The recipes were easy to follow, and if not full proof, easy to create a successful dish. The best part of the experience was gaining insights into Estonian culture and having fun with the other guests.
What a fantastic experience! We were able to prepare some authentic Estonian dishes with new friends, and then partake in our handiwork once done. And the host did such a nice job sharing about life, food, and more in Estonia. It just felt like we all prepared the food and then sat down to enjoy a family meal. Such a great cooking class!
We had a great time at Tore Toit - thoroughly enjoyed cooking some Estonian dishes with a lovely group of people. Reilika was a wonderful host and gave great instruction. There was also a lovely space to sit and enjoy our meal and have a good chat. We enjoyed trying some Estonian beer and rhubarb cider too. So glad we booked for this experience while in Tallinn and would recommend it highly!
It’s really great to learn about local food and culture from a local and to taste great food with like minded people. We all cooked in one kitchen, each pair had dishes to make that we would sit down and share with everyone later on. It felt like cooking a family meal together. Our tutor was very knowledgable and answered all our questions and told us about her family traditions and where to go to eat good Estonian food.
It was a great time of cooking and socializing. It was so great to hear about Talin and enjoy a meal at the same time. I would highly recommend this experience. It was so much fun we actually spent about three hours there.
Wonderful wonderful! Not only was it fun to learn to make Estonian dishes, we were treated to insights into the food culture of Estonia from the personal perspective of our host. HIGHLY recommend
What a fantastic experience! We made a full course lunch, main, sides, bread and a delicious cake for dessert. The recipes were the host’s family recipes. You don’t need to be a great cook. The host makes it easy and she’s there every step of the way. Sign up immediately!
My daughter and I love cooking and fancied trying an evening of Estonian cooking. So glad we did! We had great fun, learned a lot about Estonian food and culture, made some really delicious food, and got to eat it together with a lovely group of fellow food enthusiasts. Highly recommend this activity but make sure you arrive hungry as there is a LOT of food. We plan to make some of the dishes for our family and friends back home in Luxembourg. Thank you!
Such a great experience. Our host was knowledgeable and friendly and coordinated everything perfectly.
We had a great time walking and learning about the bog with Beret. It was a very unique experience out of the city.
This was the highlight of our trip in Estonia. Fun evening of learning to cook and bake traditional Estonian dishes. The setting was lovely and our host / instructor was an absolute delight. I highly recommend this experience!
This activity fit neatly into a day in Tallinn leaving lots of time to explore the city. The hostess was prepared, charming and down to earth. She chose typically Estonian dishes that are otherwise unavailable in local restaurants. We had a first course, and a second which were delicious. The event was a perfect balance of food preparation, eating and visiting with our hostess. We highly recommend this activity. She was excellent at explaining every day life in Estonia.
This Estonian cooking class in Tallinn was an absolute highlight of our trip. Reilika was a warm, welcoming, and incredibly engaging host who made the experience both educational and fun. We learned how to prepare traditional Estonian home cooking, including hearty barley bread, classic potato salad, roasted blood sausage with potatoes and sauerkraut, and a delicious layered gingerbread dessert with red currants and berries. Beyond the food, Reilika brought Estonian culture and history to life with fascinating and often amusing stories about growing up in Estonia during the Soviet era. Her passion, knowledge, and sense of humour made the class feel personal and memorable, not just instructional. We’ll be sure to remember the golden rules of potato salad (no carrots or onion and mash the egg with a fork!!). :) Everything was well organized, hands-on, and delicious from start to finish. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone wanting an authentic taste of Estonian cuisine and culture.
Great experience and lots of fun. Lovely host made us all feel very relaxed and the food was delicious . We really enjoyed the hands on experience and cooking traditional Estonian food.
Super fun evening making great food, learning about Estonia, and meeting new people. Highly recommend for couples, families, or solo travelers.
Absolutely amazing! I loved the food we cooked and it was such a treasured experience to cook and have a meal as a group. There was a great energy and it was everything I was looking for on my travels!
This was a great time cooking, learning, eating. Always fun to break bread with strangers, everyone comes out with new friends. It was mixed couples, singles and friends Reilika was an amazing host. Everything needed was on hand with local drinks and her family/local recipes. Highly recommend!!!
We really enjoyed our cooking class with Relika. It was a very relaxed afternoon and felt like we were cooking in someone’s home kitchen. The homestyle recipes were simple but delicious.
Highly recommend this cooking class. The place is in the beautiful old town and the host is wonderful.
Our small group made for a wonderful hands on experience. We used recipes handed down from generations. Our chef was enthusiastic and engaging as we learned how these recipes reflected her family’s life changes from a Soviet to and independent Estonia!
Loved our cooking class, which ended up being private, thankful wasn't canceled. Learned not only about Estonian home cooking but also what life was like growing up during Soviet rule. It was very informal, helping fix the meal and then sitting around a table, eating and chatting with a friend.
An amazing cooking class my husband and I took. We needed up staying and chatting around the table for an hour, and it was a great experience!
Had a great time. It was lovely to hear about real Estonian cooking and way of life from Reilika. Thanks, you were a terrific host!
It was fun and informative, our host was well organized and enthusiastic, we enjoyed the experience. A good value and a pleasant introduction to Estonian life.
Reilika is wonderful. Her cooking class is a lot of fun, delicious, and a great way to experience real Estonian food! Highly recommended!!
Definitely a highlight of our 3 week European vacation! We made 4 dishes and a dessert, all from the host's family recipes using seasonal ingredients...every one was delicious! We loved learning about Estonian culture and customs while eating in the elegant and beautifully decorated dining room. The host is so kind and welcoming. We left with our bellies full and our hearts fuller.
A must do while in Tallinn! Reilika was such a wonderful chef and hostess! I loved that we experienced local dishes. Reilika had us prepare dishes that she would serve if you came to her home. Learning about the food and culture was truly unique. We felt like we were in the countryside having a meal at her home. I highly recommend this experience!
Excellent hands-on experience. Leader shared family recipes and all were delicious. We will definitely make them again at home.
Exceptional afternoon. Cooking was fun and the food was delicious. The conversation around the table with the chef Reilika made it memorable!
