Should have walked away, when we were told there was a wedding in the inner courtyard on Saturday. Our room was on the other side of the building so I did not think much of it. The double windows were actually really good and very little traffic noise made it in from the street. The double windows did little to help with the air conditioning's condense water pump having been installed (read: thrown in) in our room's false ceiling. The thing went off every 10 minutes vibrating against the ceiling. We told the staff, they came in and listened and told us nothing could be done - no service person available and no vacant rooms. In the morning I dragged a table under a service hatch myself and found just a proper east european hatched job install. Staff gave us a new room in the morning and of course it was on the courtyard side, where we stayed up until midnight listening to an EDM wedding playlist. The new "upgraded" room was smaller and had a 40cm smaller bed. Breakfast serving was ok, but the breakfast space is quite small and pretty crowded throughout the morning. Mustard had ran out by the second morning.I did like the bicycle racks in the inner courtyard.
Hotel's location is good, it looks nice from the outside, and the common areas are in good condition. They have very nice inner yard with a safe bicycle parking. We booked the standard room for two nights and had to change rooms the next day because our AC made horrible noise during the night and we didn't sleep at all. Well, at least the AC was working. When changing rooms we noticed that the bed was narrower than in the previous room. So by booking the standard room you might get a wider or a narrower bed. The breakfast was served in the restaurant downstairs. Breakfast was alright, it included for example fruits, vegetables, bread, pastries, porridge, pancakes, cheese, juices, coffee and tea. At least the standard rooms in the main building seem to need some renovation and a good cleaning. There are traces of lime scale in the bathroom. The shadow of the lamp on the room's table was covered with dust. Our room's wall had a hole. The shampoo bottle in our bathroom was empty/had only water in it. The hair dryer was quite old school. If possible, I would give the hotel 2,8 stars but for apparent reasons have to round it up to three. In this condition it's nowhere near to four stars. Hope to see some renovations coming up because the building has a lot of potential to be the four star hotel.
What I liked: Very good location, rooms smell good, courtyard beautiful. What I didn’t like: Rooms are too small, ours overlooked place where people eat. I mainly booked due to reviews of good breakfast - breakfast variety is very small, seating in breakfast place is small so nowhere to sit. So nothing to eat really and restaurant is cramped, somehow they cannot figure out that having breakfast in a courtyard is way better idea… go figure…staff not very friendly, no-one greeted us at breakfast at all. Overall on the outside it looks like a posh boutique hotel, in reality feels like very average 3-ish star hotel. I would not stay here again.
Nice hotel, super comfy bed/bedding, but the room over a 3-night stay wasn’t touched once by the cleaners. Rubbish accumulated. And it smells so badly of sewage in the bathroom, you have to keep the door closed at all times otherwise it fills the room. Miserable staff, even for Estonia. Breakfast was OK if not bland. Good location 5m walk to Old Town. Ultimately not worth the money.
