Good introduction to Takayama, its history and the old town. Yama was informative and in addition to thetour gave good recommendations on eateries.

Superb quick walk around town. You should offer a 1.5 hour version as well. Sato San, being a native. Was so infirmative & knowledgeable. The fastest tour we've ever done but overall a great experience.
Our guide was informative and willing to answer our questions. He provided an interesting and detailed history of Old Town Takayama.
Great tour of Takayama. Our guide Takumi told us many interesting facts on the history of this beautiful city and on the founder.
Miyuki was extremely knowledgeable about Takayama and recommended me some sake breweries and restaurants around the area. I walked around with her for an extra 15 minutes after the tour ended which helped me better orient myself
Excellent tour . We did not have much time in Takayama so did the one hour tour in evening but it was very very good . Forgot the lady who guided us on tour but she was very good as was Yama who was at the tour agency when we arrived .
Very nice tour. We were late on our train to Takayama so had no time to go to hotel first so dragged our bags to the tour agency . There were so good . Yama was sitting there but I forgot the name of the excellent lady who actually did our tour , really enjoyed the tour and the Sake tasting which I did on my own during the tour and they arranged a cab to our hotel from there
Our Guide was knowledgeable and helpful. A terrific overview of Takayama, some history and fun information.
Our guide was very knowledgeable of the area and was very patient in showing us a lot of the interesting parts of the town. When we took the tour, a s it was still early morning, there weren't too many people walking down the old town streets, making it ideal for taking pictures without too many people in our shot. Outside of the Old Town, our guide also told us about history surrounding the places we went, and also pointed out many of the interesting shops and places we may want to visit after the tour. Thanks to that we didn't run out of things to see during our stay. If you are visiting Takayama without knowing too much about the area, I would highly recommend this tour!
My family and I took a 45 min Old Town Walking Tour with Yama-san and had a great time. Yama-san was a wonderful guide -- very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. I think 45 min was the perfect length for an introductory tour of the town and highly recommend it.
Wonderful online tour experience with Yama-San who explained very well the local culture and exceptional aspects of Takayama. Also cyber-visited the biggest sake brewery and learned a lot about the process. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to get closer to the local culture. The tours are not to long and not too expensive. Great deal and I had a great time!
Fantastic introduction to Takayama. Yama, the guide was incredibly knowledgeable and interesting. We are so glad that we started our visit with a tour with him!
We actually had a tour group guide . The old town had been well restored and worth an hour wandering around. It is adjacent to the morning markets which are not very enthralling
Yama (my tour guide) was great! Extremely recommended 45min walking tour (easy stroll) where Yama talked to different interesting historical, cultural and culinary topics when we came across sights as we walked. He answered all my questions and I would highly recommend this for a short tour. Arrigato Yama!
A lovely walk through the gorgeous old town and new parts of Takayama, at a slow pace and with loads of attention to details that we would have otherwise missed. I recommend the tour to anyone interested in visiting Japan, our host was very competent and answered our questions as the tour progressed.
I planned to go to Takayama this year but Covid pandemic preventing me. I did the Old Town walking tour with a local guide from the Happy Plus company online via Skype with several other people from around the world. I've never been visited Takayama I wait for visiting there.
With the Covid pandemic preventing me from going to Japan as planned this year, I did the Old Town walking tour with a local guide from the Happy Plus company online this morning via Skype with several other people from around the world. First time I've done an interactive virtual tour. It was in real time, and the guide walked around central Takayama giving a commentary as he went. His english was excellent. I was able to ask questions and make comments. I was also able to interact with other people on the tour. It was a excellent 'travel' experience, and well worth while doing. I've visited Takayama three times in the past, and wondered if a virtual interactive tour would be interesting. It definitely was! I learnt more about Takayama, and I was able to ask questions throughout the walking tour. I was able to make comments via my microphone and also via a chat box. Covid has presented us with a new world. So if we can't currently travel internationally, then a virtual tour is a great idea. It certainly brightened my day! The Happy Tour company in Takayama did this very well. I enjoyed it. I could see the company was being Covid safe with hand sanitisers in their office, and the guide wore a protection mask as he walked around Takayama. Of course, I was Covid safe at my computer! This tour made me want to visit Takayama again as soon as we can travel to Japan again! Well done!
A lovely early morning visit with lots of really interesting local knowledge and a willingness to listen and answer question. Arigato gozaimasu!
I joined this online tour and had a great time knowing and looking at the Takayama old town. The tour guide spoke in English fluently and I think most people can understand easily. This online tour provided an opportunity for us to visit Takayama virtually in the midst of pandemic. The tour was amazing and I hope that I can visit there in person.
Very informative tour. It was interesting to be able to see different part of japan in this current period where we are unable to go to japan.
I was on an online tour of Takayama old town with this company, it was nice and beautiful. Recommended!
They held a very good online tour in Chinese. It's great for ppl who want to visit Takayama without a chance. I've been there once, and hope one day can come back to the beautiful place again.
I attended an on line tour of Takayama. In these days of lockdown it was nice to be connected with a town in Japan. It was like being travelling again. The guide was professional and kind. Hope to arrange a live tour with them when we will allowed to travel Japan again.
Beautiful place expecially with a tourist guide. Special people with a very deep colture. I suggest this amazin tour
We quickly walked through the city with the history of the points and pictures/photos of some places that were part of the explanation.
The guide had a very comprehensible voice. It was also an art of storytelling that made me feel like it was true, such as a story about the color of pickles in the morning market that was not a guidebook, or the original name of the sugitama in the eaves of a sake brewery. I also wanted to see the movement of the real thing about the traditional technique of fire ladders. It's a great technology. I look forward to your next visit to Takayama.
At first it took a while because I wasn't used to Skype, but it was a really fun online tour. The guide was so lovely in Dundee. I'm glad you're enjoying your trip together. I would like to go there and ask for a guide someday.
I couldn't travel at all because of the coronavirus, but it was great to feel the real and alpine atmosphere of the city on such an online tour. The guide's explanation is also attentive and easy to understand! I had been to alpine mountains a few years ago and I miss seeing the scenery again!
It was online participation. He was a very good talking guide and the tour proceeded in a flowing way. They explained the history and architecture of the city, something you wouldn't notice when walking around on your own, which deepened their understanding. Next time, I would love to actually visit the site.
オンラインでのツアーでしたが、きれいに景色も見れました。粋な和服の日本人ガイドさんの説明がよかったですし高山の魅力が現れたツアーだったと思います。以前に来たことがありますが何度でも訪れたい場所ですね。 It was Online Tour due to Covid-19 now, but I could enjoy with the views and explanation of Local guide. I am reccommend to visit this beautiful city when finished this situation. It was an Online tour, because now you can not travel from Outside Japan, but the visit was very nice, and was very interesting about explanation from the local guide. It is worth visiting this city. Thank you very much.
I participated in an online tour of Skype. The guide gave me a lot of explanations and stories as I walked around the city, and I felt like I was walking with him. The old townscape was lovely and the view was wonderful. I had never been there, but I definitely wanted to!
I participated in the online tour. Despite the sudden request, I am glad you were willing to take care of it. The communication was good and the beautiful scenery with alpine taste was beautiful. It was also great to see the guide guide looking at me and talking to me as he showed me around. In particular, the story of the city's history was interesting and impressive. He was also very knowledgeable about good alcohol and food, so after the tour, I felt like I wanted to order it. When I go to Takayama, I want to eat dumplings first and drink sake second. I enjoy regular trips, but having a professional guide is even more fun. It was a journey that made me realize that. Thank you very much.
I participated online this time, but thanks to the guidance of our veteran guides, I was able to walk around the city more fully than I had done before when I visited the area on my own.
Before joining, I was worried about how much I would be able to talk to them in such a short time (45 minutes). I also wanted to enjoy walking around the city in real life.
The introduction of the cityscape by the veteran guide, who has been on the road for more than 20 years, was enough to enjoy online participation. From the history of the town and the festival to the introduction of the food shops in the queue, I want to visit in real life this time.
Although it was online, it was very easy to understand what the city was like with the careful guidance of veteran guides. It was a holiday, so I could feel the sightseeing spots and enjoyed it. I would love to visit the site in person. I'd like to go there during the festival season.
It was an online walking tour of the city. The guide's sincere guidance, which conveys the local love, made us want to go there once the coronavirus was over. I think online tours are not only an alternative to local tours during the pandemic, but also barrier-free tours for people who cannot travel due to various circumstances. I hope there will be more such tours.
It was online, but I was able to see the appeal of Takayama well enough through the screen. The guide's humorous way of speaking allowed us to enjoy learning about alpine history and culture. Now I'd like to actually visit.
The local guide had no problem online and had a great time. It was a relief to see people visiting Takayama. I would like to visit here to support Takayama in another different season.
The guide's voice was easy to hear, the commentary was lean, and the 45 minutes ended in no time, with a sometimes soothing humor. It was the first time I had toured the city online, but the camera work was good and it was immersive. This time, we introduced many spots related to the Takayama Festival, and this time we wanted to participate in the festival.
The guides are very good at explaining things, so you can actually feel like you are there. It was my first time on an online tour, but it was more fun than I expected and I was very happy. I actually wanted to go to the high mountains.
It was my first time to participate in an online tour and I was very happy and learned a lot. It made me want to actually go. i.saito
The guide explained it very carefully (with a good sense of humor, too) and the camera work was good, which was fun. I'd actually like to go there when the coronavirus is over! a
It was our first online tour and we were looking forward to seeing what it was like, but it exceeded our expectations. The way the guides spoke and the camera work were very good and it was very realistic. This is the kind of tour that actually makes you want to go to the high mountains. If you are interested, please join us!
I forgot to be at home and felt like I was actually there. It was a 45-minute session with a lot of content, where we could learn a lot. I would like to visit the dumpling shop that introduced me along the way one day! a
It was more fun than I expected and a new experience. He explained what was in the town and I wanted to go there. a
This time, it was a very precious time to have a chance to visit the town of Takayama just for us. Thank you very much. It was very interesting and easy to understand, and I wanted to go to Takayama! I really felt like I was going to the high mountains. The camera work and the cool sound of geta were also good. I wish I could have done more research about alpines in advance and actively asked questions! Thank you so much for your time today. a
The guide was very easy to understand and enjoyed guiding us. The guide, wearing a kimono, heard the sound of a walking setta and felt as if he were walking with me. It was nice to be able to ask questions to the guide because it was a private tour. This is an online tour that you can recommend.
I work for a travel agency. I wanted to see a live tour of how I felt myself because I was interested. The good thing was the kimono-clad guides and their likable chatter. There may be a time limit, so it may not be a choice, but I wish I could have seen inside the jinya, inside the sake brewery, and inside the souvenir shop. I thought so. It was a shame that the picture quality was bad, probably because of Skype. I felt like having bgm was also good. It was very helpful. Thank you very much.
This was my first time on an online tour, and my first time walking around an alpine city. It was a lot of fun to explain the kimono-clad, stern guide, and it went so fast - 45 minutes ... as others have written, it was unapologetically fulfilling for the guide at this price. I'd like to actually try dumplings, Hida beef, and local sake. I would love to visit you during the festival season when the coronavirus has calmed down. We would also like to thank Happy Plus for their kind and prompt response despite the sudden request. Thank you for your valuable experience! August 7, 18:50
