What an amazing class, hands on, very informative and super fun. Our instructor was great with explaining ingredients and providing additional context around certain dishes. The cooking school was also able to accommodate all dietary restrictions. I would definitely recommend the Taiwanese Gourment Cooking Class to all foodies.

Itinerary
Step into a historical morning market and experience the flavors and warmth of everyday Taipei. This is more than a cooking class, it's an invitation to experience Taipei through the way its people shop, cook and eat. Your Market-to-Table Journey: 9:30-9:40 Meet at the Market Begin with an introduction to the market, its history and its place in the everyday life of the surrounding neighborhood. 9:40-11:00 Explore and Shop Visit local vendors, discover seasonal produce and Taiwanese pantry staples, and select the ingredients for our cooking session. Pause to enjoy traditional snacks or market specialties—local flavors that visitors might easily walk past without knowing their stories. 11:00-12:00 Cook Together Return to our cozy kitchen and cook side by side as a group, turning the ingredients we selected at the market into a shared Taiwanese feast. 12:00-12:30 Share the Table Sharing food, conversation and the joy of cooking offers a warm glimpse into Taiwanese dining culture—and creates a delicious memory of your time in Taipei.

This is our second class with Cookinn. We took the Taiwanese Street Food class before, and we had so much fun that we signed up for the Taiwanese Gourmet Meal on our most recent trip to Taiwan. Again, it was such a fun experience for our family to do together. Our teacher, Diana, was completely fluent in both Mandarin and English, and she not only shared cooking instructions but also the cultural history of Taiwan and the food that we were preparing also. Very clean and modern facilities, and the little attention to detail (like the peronalized photo recipes at the end) were wonderful. Our kids ranged from 8 to 15 years old, and they all loved it! And the best part is we were all able to share our "made from scratch" meal together at the end.
I cook regularly at home and I found this course to be very good for both the home chef and casual cooks. The teacher Diana was very clear and spoke both Chinese and English. The kitchen was clean and spacious and all the ingredients were described before we started. Even for the dishes that I thought I knew how to make I learned many tips that made the flavors uniquely Taiwanese!
Instructor speaks good English, there is no communication problem. Lesson is easy to follow. Will consider coming back for another lesson when in Taipei.
I visited Taipei for two weeks and prior to visiting, I signed up for two classes here. One was run in the morning with a market tour and the other in the afternoon. The market tour was fun. If you have not been to an Asian traditional market, I think it would be a good experience. Here you see the full animals (if you don't like to see animal heads and organs than this may not be your thing -- talk to the instructors beforehand, I am sure they will accommodate you). The whole area is very spacious. There is a place for the students to relax before the class starts. This is also the place to enjoy your labor after you cook. Here you can also socialize with other students or if you have kids with you, they can kill their time here while you are learning to cook. The class was designed immaculately! They really worked out all the kinks and thought of everything before the class was run. Here you find a systematic way of learning and you don't feel like you are just ordered to do various things. The process is very streamlined and smooth. Every step just naturally transitions into the next step. Here you learn cooking is actually a very relaxing process -- as long as you know the steps -- and what they show you exactly are the steps and the little clues to watch when you cook in order to make sure the flavor builds and the food tastes good. The staff was wonderful -- every single one of them. The instructors were very knowledgeable about the food, the tour guide knew which alley to turn to show you where the hidden food gems are and the assistants are the unsung hero -- while we were cooking, they were there chopping away and washing things away so that the next food ingredient can be delivered to us for cooking. When the class ends, I was handed an individualized recipe book -- how cool was that! All the pictures taken in the class were also emailed to us after the class. If you are into Taiwanese food, this truly is a place where you can have fun, learn good cooking skills and develop the food that you crave.
On the day of the lesson, we visited Chang Chun Market before the cooking class. The instructor, Diana was very friendly and patient with us, and introduced local delicacies to the participants. The staffs were very friendly as well and help with the dirty dishes during the lesson. The food turned out very well and delicious. Thank you for the great experience. I will definitely come back for more classes in my next Taipei trip.
We all really enjoyed the market tour and the cooking. The studio is bright and clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. Best of all we got to enjoy a delicious lunch from all the food we had made. Thanks.
Sometimes, finding activity that could entertain family members of all age could be tough, especially while travelling. CookInn's class is well-planned and well-thought of, my mum and I had fun and enjoyed the discovery of local wet market, a hands-on experience of making something we thought could be difficult -- Beef noodle, Soup Dumplings, appetiser and bubble tea -- The ingredients and instructions provided simply enable novice chef to prepare a meal like experienced master. They made sure you got all sorts of memory recorded nicely and you'll have the cookbook, and photos (by Google Drive) of the day immediately. It worths each penny. Frankly.
The host was amazing and the private tour was so well organized! I highly recommend it if you want to do something unique and off the tourist trail.
Great and super nice teacher, delicious food, nice new studio and a lot of fun - thank you a lot, dear Chelsea! Anne
Chelsea led our class in which I learned how to make mullet roe fried rice, 3-cup chicken, squid salad with 5-flavor sauce, and soft tofu pudding. It was all delicious. I have some Asian cooking experience, but I still picked up some nuanced tips for improving my fried rice game and 3-cup sauce. Using mullet roe was a new experience, and I loved it. The ingredients were very fresh and high quality. The kitchen is modern and spotless. Chelsea and her assistants speak excellent English and are super friendly. There was no communication barrier at all. When I next return to Taiwan, I will visit CookInn again and take their xiaolongbao class.
It was a lot of fun. I was able to go to the market I wanted to go to and he explained each one carefully. The food is also very delicious and made at home.
The teacher who is good at Japanese taught me carefully and I was able to make delicious Taiwanese food. It was difficult to wrap Xiaolongbao. We took a walk in the market to learn about Taiwan's unique ingredients and seasons. We enjoyed the Wildlife Preserve and Takhini Hot Spring tour. I want to learn different cooking again.
I was alone, but the teacher was kind, and the student from Hong Kong was smiling, though I didn't know the words, and it was a good atmosphere. They showed us around the market and there are many photos!! I was able to cook one by one and it was fun. Xie Xie
A mother in her 70s and a daughter in her 40s. There are many activities on the road, but since my mother's age, there are few that can participate, so I decided with a light feeling that cooking is something I do on a daily basis, so it would be OK. It was fun, delicious, and full of new things to know when I actually participated, and it was a very fulfilling time. My mother's only memories of the trip after I returned home were of this lesson. At the market we took before the lesson, they gave us names of various vegetables and fruits, explained how to eat them, and explained spices. I also have good memories of being able to communicate with the local people through my teacher. The lesson was held in a very clean and pleasant kitchen, the kitchen knife was cut well and the last recipe I received was easy to understand and I tried again soon after returning home. My mother says, "I want to go to that class again in Taipei." Thanks to the teacher's care, I had a great time.
Not only is the staff friendly, the studio clean and the food delicious, but also the attention to detail is paid to the classroom. I definitely want to revisit it. When shopping at the market, they guide us to put only valuables in nylon bags, which is typical of Taiwan, so that we can go easily. It was raining, but they lent me some towels, which helped. The park on the way to the market had a nice view and a nice walk even in the rain. At the market, he explained many ingredients that are not used in cooking. It was easy to understand both Japanese and English. The staff, including the assistants, are very good at making four dishes in a short time. We snacked on mustard and fried rice while drinking Taiwanese beer. They took pictures of me throughout and shared them with me via email. There is also a kids space in the studio, and toilet amenities are well-equipped, so I think everyone can feel comfortable. They also gave us advice on sightseeing in the afternoon. As I was walking to Seishin Seikatsu Matsutatsuten, he even told me which route was better because of the beautiful scenery. This is a classroom filled with meticulous care that cannot be understood simply by reading the course content at the time of booking throughout. I think anyone can enjoy it, whether alone or in a group.
I visited with nine people on a work trip. The first thing I felt was that the classrooms were very beautiful and the staff were cheerful and helpful. It's not just about cooking, it's also great to have a market tour, and cooking what you actually buy from the market is also part of the fun. Xiaolongbao is naturally no match for a certain famous restaurant, but it was a good experience to learn how difficult it is to make. The beef noodles, tapioca milk tea and cucumber garnish were the best. Thank you very much.
I took a traditional Taiwanese cooking experience class. As the teacher was fluent in Japanese, the explanations of ingredients and seasonings were easy to understand and helpful. I also enjoyed touring the market. We also took a walk in nearby Zhongshan Park and encountered a family of squirrels. I really loved squirrels coming to my feet. Karasumi fried rice was delicious using a lot of mustard. After returning home, I bought mustard balls to make them. The vegetables were all fresh, so we enjoyed them deliciously. It is a happy course because it comes with Taiwanese beer ♪ Next time, I want to participate in a sweets course. I look forward to working with you then!
