Itinerary
Meet your tour guide at MRT Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station, then hit the road and take a short ride to the first stop of your full day tour in Taipei: National Palace Museum, which is also one of the world’s largest museums. With a collection of nearly 700,000 pieces of ancient Chinese artifacts and artworks, the museum showcases 8,000 years of Chinese art history spanning multiple dynasties. Two of the most famous artworks on display are “the Jadeite Cabbage” and “the Meat-Shaped Stone”, which are the must-sees in National Palace Museum.
Next, you will head off to Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, an impressive monument in memory of the late President Chiang Kai-shek. Here the changing of the guard ceremony takes place every hour on the hour from 09:00 in the main hall.
In addition to the majestic main hall of the memorial, the exquisite Chinese garden around the building and the vast plaza are also worth taking a look. If you come here in the early morning, you can see some people doing Qigong there.
Our tour continues with a visit to Longshan Temple, where the local people pray for good luck or find inner peace. Here you will learn about Taiwan’s religious belief and practices. The temple was built in 1738 and dedicated to Guanyin (the Goddess of Mercy). The temple was severely damaged during Taipei Air Raid, but the statue of Guanyin survived the raid. Besides the Goddess of Mercy, the temple devotes Yue Lao (the Matchmaker God), Wenchang Dijun (the God of Literature), Songzi Niangniang (the maiden who brings children) and many more. You can pray for yourself and your family, and even try asking the gods for advice by tossing divination blocks.
By walking through the significant historic sites in Taipei, believe you have a good understanding of the city’s history and development. Your next stop will present to you the modernity and diversity of Taipei City. Head off to Ximending Commercial District, one of the busiest shopping areas in Taipei, where packed with retail shops, restaurants, bars and street performers. This place is very popular among young people, so it is also known as the Taipei version of Tokyo's Harajuku’s Takeshita Street. (lunch on your own arrangement)
After Ximending Shopping District, the part of the historical theme of the tour continues with a visit to Taipei City Wall-North Gate (Cheng’en Gate). This grand and impressive fortress gate is one of the five historic city gates in Taipei built in Qing Dynasty, along with the East Gate (Jingfu Gate), West Gate (Baocheng Gate), South Gate (Lizheng Gate) and Lesser South Gate (Chongxi Gate).
After Cheng-en Gate, you will visit Dadaocheng, a nostalgic area where tradition and modernity meets. The retro cafes and stores in the streets and alleys enhance the nostalgic atmosphere, making this place become a popular destination for hipsters. The heart of Dadaocheng is Dihua Street, once the most prosperous place in Taipei more than a hundred years ago. Even now, it is still a popular spot to shop for dried goods and herbal medicines. Every year, the Chinese New Year Street Bazaar takes place in Dihua Street, and is always crowed with people getting ready for the coming new year. Today, the streets and alleys are lined with traditional shops, alongside with chic cafés and mini art galleries housed in the in well-preserved historical buildings, giving off a vintage vibe.
Located in the historic Dadaocheng, Taipei Xiahai City God Temple is a centuries-old temple dedicated to the City God. It is a must-visit spot for those seeking blessings and cultural experiences. The most famous deity is Yue Lao, the Chinese matchmaker god, who is believed to help singles find love. The temple also hosts various cultural events and festivals throughout the year, offering a glimpse into traditional Taiwanese culture.
We will walk by Yongle Market, Taipei's largest textile market. At your free time, you can explore endless array of materials, from traditional Taiwanese prints to imported Japanese designs.
The last stop of your tour is Taipei 101 Mall, the fashion lovers’ paradise, which is located in the eastern side of Taipei. The mall houses hundreds of fashionable stores and restaurants, along with a food court and a supermarket. From luxury brands to fast fashion retailers, from Michelin star restaurants to cheap eats, you can always find something for your there. The famous skyscraper, Taipei 101, stands right next to the mall. It was once the tallest building in the world that reaches a height of 508 meters, towering over the skyline of Taipei. The building has 101 stories, with an observatory deck on the 89th floor, where the visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Taipei City. Not only that, it has one of the top 3 fastest elevators in the world; from the 5th to the 89th floor, it only takes 37 seconds. At the end of the tour, you may choose to disembark at MRT Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station (arrive around 17:10) or Raohe Street Tourist Night Market (arrive around 17:00).
On the way back to our meeting point, you can choose to be dropped off at Raohe Street Night Market.

This a good tour to get your bearings and see the city's major highlights. The guide was very knowledgeable and you get to see the main landmarks, so well worth doing early on so you can revisit your favourite stops.
Great introduction to Taipei and good to do early on to get bearings. Tony, our guide, was clear and easy to understand and had sense of humour. Pace was good and despite impending typhoon great day out!
I enjoyed the city tour with Tony. He has a lot of knowledge about Taipei and shared that with tour group. Really liked the street with traditional shops. More interval modern shopping area.
Great Tour! Highly recommend this tour!
An amazing tour, just the right pace, and a blend of old and new to see. Our Guide Tony was too knowledgeable and interesting, sharing deep insights into the beautiful country past and present, 1st class guide 🥇
Very nice trip!!! Covered all the major highlights… very patient and informative guide. Go for it!!!
We had a very enjoyable day visiting most of the landmarks in Taipei. Molly our guide was friendly and approachable and was responsive to the wishes of our group. I know so much more about Taiwan now.
Fun day seeing Taipei! Great city tour of Taipei
Our guide, Lily, was incredible. She had so much knowledge of history that it made understanding the culture so enjoyable. Would totally recommend this tour. Especially with Lily!
Nice overview of Taipei. Excellent guide. Long tour especially if you just arrived from overseas. Will have to go back to National Palace Museum!
Susie was an excellent tour guide. Made the attractions very interesting & we enjoyed learning about Taipei City & Taiwan in general since was our first visit. Drive was comfortable in van. Only suggestion would be to spend less time at Dihua Street to add time to visit Observatory at Taipei 101.
This tour was amazing! Our tour guide, Kevin, was absolutely wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable. He was able to answer every question anyone asked and was so kind, patient, and accommodating throughout the entire day. He made the experience enjoyable, informative, and truly memorable. Highly recommend this tour, and especially Kevin as a guide!
Great tour the guide was so helpful and caring. Jerry went out of his way to help each person. The places were really great too
The tour guide Molly is a veteran for she is concerned, responsible and extremely knowledgeable and I've learned a lot from her introduction to the subject matters. Anyway, good luck to your business, ta! Wes PhD
This was an amazing day trip planned as a result of my twenty one hour layover in Taipei bound for DFW. It was a scheduled group tour and fortunately for me I was the only registered participant. David was the most informative tour guide. I loved the museum and to see Taipei 101 was breathtaking. Highly recommend this day tour.
Kevin, our guide, was incredible!! He was always making sure that we were comfortable and safe. Everything was taking care of in a very professional manner. All the sights were amazing! We will definitely come back to Taiwan and we highly recommend Kevin as your guide. Thank you!!
This was a great introduction to Taipei, and a good preview of what we'd want to revisit during the rest of our time in the city. Our guide gave us a great overview of the National Palace Museum (a must-see, and if you're like us, it'll take all day), Chiang Kai-Shek's tomb and its changing of the guard, a serene temple, and the markets and port. A great mix of the history and the heartbeat of Taipei.
This tour is a great intro to the major landmarks of Taipei and the air conditioned minibus is an absolute must if you're going in the summer! Our guide (Molly, I think?) was very informative and helpful. She walked us through the major pieces at the museum and left us with a little time (but not too much) to explore the rest of the museum. If I have any critique, I'd have liked to have another 30 minutes or so at the museum at the expense of either Ximen or Taipei 101 (which, if you're not going to the observatory deck, is basically just a fancy-schmancy mall and kind of a snooze if that's not your thing, though the basement food court is fun). Otherwise, I highly recommend this tour!
We had a great time and tour with Kia, she was super informative and welcoming. We got to do a bunch of the major landmarks in Tapei ending the tour at Tapei 101. I would definitely recommend it, as it was really nice to have a great guide and car waiting for you everywhere.
This was a great way to see the highlights of Taipei with an experienced guide who made the day interesting and allowed us to see most of what we wanted to see in the city.
It was a great day tour covering the main attractions and highlights of Taipei. What even made it extra nice was our very informative and attentive tour guide, Mr. James. It was really a great option to spend the day in this tour. Thanks a lot Mr. James.
We took a chance and booked this day-long tour for our first day in Taipei. Good call. It offered a nice overview of the city and a chance to see some of the most interesting sites. There were seven of us in a van that shuttled us from location to location. The guide had plenty of interesting facts to share throughout. She was mindful about us being able to have access to public restrooms throughout the tour. I recommend the tour as a great introduction to Taipei.
This was a great introduction to Taipei. Our guide, James, was terrific - full of great information. The National Palace Museum is amazing - he took us to see the highlights.
The pace of the tour was good and David our guide was very professional with a rude guest. Would like a little more time in Dihua street.
Not a continuous walking tour but a drive to various places in Taipei of interest with some walking around.
This was a great tour and allowed us to cover a lot ground and get ourselves oriented in Taipei. We hit all of the major landmarks and learned about the history of Taiwan and Taipei. Walter was a wonderful, attentive, and thorough guide who helped us understand the sites we were visiting and orient ourselves in history.
Had a great day outing with Tony on this tour. It was a small group as advertised. He was mindful of our time, making sure we visited each site optimally, which was greatly appreciated. He had detailed info at each site, provided interesting commentary, and cracked some jokes along the way. If you want a quick overview of Taipei, you can't go wrong with this tour and Tony!
Wonderful overview of Taipei enjoyed the history from Tony and the ease of being guided through the museum. Thank you, Tony’
This was a good experience. Guide was very knowledgeable. The itinerary change a bit and a stop was missed and another stop was change. Overall still worth the money.
Great tour, a lots of places to discover in Taipei, the National Palace museum was exceptional , I really enjoyed it. Would highly recommend .

This was a very satisfying full day tour of Taipei that gave us an overview of the entire city and its main tourist attractions. Our guide, Jenny, was very knowledgeable and gave us an insight into how Taiwanese people actually live.
Great way to explore the city short on time or first time. 1 day tour around with friendly tour guide.
Good tour with very knowledgeable guide. Got to explore number of locations in one day. Good for first day in the city to get a lay of the land.
Excellent, very informative tour - especially because Reina, our guide, was like a walking history book! Her knowledge was very impressive, as well as her people skills. Very professional tour, and our driver, Mr Chan, was an expert driver. Reina speaks great English and was easily understood. Recommend this small group tour (there were only 3 of us) and hope you get Reina!!
Taipei day tour is wonderful, we got to visit national museum early in the morning n a few tourists attractions later. Our tour lady is very professional and fluent in both English and Chinese, and quite knowledgeable in history of Taiwan. We enjoyed the tour very much. Thanks!
Great city tour. Chang Kei-shek memorial, Longshan Temple and Ximen were my favorite places. I recommend this tour as a wonderful start for Taipei visitors.
Great tour. Chiara is fantastic, informative, funny, and accommodating. Also, very grateful for assisting me with my forgotten bags. Contacted tour number and they were very helpful and pleasant about getting my forgotten bags to my hotel free of charge. I would give the 10 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The tour is a full day, but there is lots of variety and free time. Our guide Kia was friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about her service.
Very busy day, but educational and enjoyable!
I had a great day. Tony was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Taipei.
The tour guide was very informative and gave us a lot of attention. Would definitely recommend to do the tour
Nice day checking out the classic sites of Taipei with Tony. Really enjoyed all of the great information Tony shared, and in particular, his help making sure we all got to where we wanted to go (both during the day and at the end). For a solid day trip in Taipei, I fully recommend!
The tour was a great education into Taipei's landmarks and history. I certainly learned a lot and got some steps in. Vans are comfortable and there are several opportunities to grab souvenirs and food. Definitely take this tour if you have a whole day free.
Good tour, tour guide was great. Could have fitted in more highlights, as too much free time and repeated temples. But overall recommend if you only have a day
Our tour guide Kevin was very affable, and shared intimate knowledge of the locations we visited. Recommend.
Weather and construction cancelled part of this trip, which was disappointing. There was too much shopping time.
We had a wonderful experience with Sharon, our guide. She was very efficient in explaining the various sites and offering a historical background. It was a very good overview of Taipei.
Tony was tremendous everything was running like clockwork. We learned a great amount and enjoyed ourselves greatly.
