Emily was really funny and gave clear instructions throughout the tour. The weather was crazy, with pouring rain and strong winds, but she did a great job keeping us on track and making sure everyone stayed together. She handled it all so well despite the challenging weather. Great job, Emily!

Reviews
The best part of the tour was the tour guide. Arron was great, not only very friendly but also very knowledgeable. We covered a lot. Lots of walking and lots of steps.
It was very good but Juifen was kind of too crowded even in November. Made it kind of annoying. None the less a great tour guide (Aaron) very friendly and nice. Also had good energy
Better than expected, Arron was great and the itinerary exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Taipei.
This was our first bad experience with a Klook tour, and unfortunately, one of our worst experiences in Taiwan. We were a family of 7 adults and 1 infant, traveling with children and senior citizens. Our group had nine different nationalities, with approximately 40 participants. Our tour guide, Tristan, seemed noticeably more attentive to Western tourists, regularly checking on their experience and asking how they were doing. However, our Southeast Asian family constantly felt overlooked and left to manage on our own. We paid the same rates as everyone else, so we expected the same level of attention and hospitality. I cannot say for certain whether this was discrimination or simply his attitude, but the difference was noticeable. Another upsetting incident involved an elderly passenger who accidentally spilled soda inside the bus. Tristan appeared visibly annoyed and publicly announced over the microphone that the passenger should clean it up because the bus was used every day. When we returned later, he brought it up again, looking directly at the elderly passenger and mentioning possible additional charges for deep cleaning. We understand the importance of keeping the bus clean, but publicly embarrassing a senior citizen over an honest mistake was completely unnecessary and disrespectful. The worst incident happened during heavy rain. We asked the driver if we could temporarily remain inside the bus while waiting for the rain to subside. Our request was declined. The driver dimmed the lights and closed the front door. My wife, mother, and mother-in-law were already soaking wet and shivering from the cold. They are all senior citizens, and we also had an infant with us. Our baby subsequently became sick. I understand there may have been operational restrictions or a language barrier. However, a little compassion and flexibility would have made a difference. As a suggestion, the tour operator could coordinate with drivers to allow families with infants and elderly passengers to wait inside the bus temporarily during extremely heavy rainfall, whenever safely and operationally possible. This was already my third visit to Taiwan. Our previous experiences with tour guides had always been positive, with guides who were respectful, courteous, and accommodating. We booked this tour expecting another memorable family experience. Instead, it became something we would rather forget. To the tour operator and management: Please train your staff to treat guests equally, regardless of nationality or age. Filipino and other Southeast Asian tourists pay the same rates as Western tourists. We deserve the same respect, attention, and hospitality. A tour guide's responsibility goes beyond following an itinerary. Professionalism, patience, and genuine concern for passengers matter just as much. The weather was bad, but the service was even worse. We would honestly have been better off doing the itinerary ourselves. Extremely disappointed. I would not recommend this tour based on our experience.
It was a good tour, the places are interesting deff worth the day trip. We had the chance to be in one for the small groups of 8 . Our tour guide was accommodating and knowledgeable. Very friendly and kind. The only thing to mention is it is a very compressed trip you won’t have a lot of time in each place , bring comfortable shoes , cash , some merchant if not most don’t take major credit cards, bring a waterproof jacket and some snacks. Otherwise good trip.
Great tour. Our tour guide Kate was excellent. She gave us a lot of information and history about Taiwan. Also she gave great suggestions on exactly the tip places to see on our spots so we got the most out of our trip. The length of the trip was fine. And all the stops were excellent. I would definitely recommend this tour
We had a wonderful day with Kate. She explained everything very well. I would highly recommend this tour.
The trip was organized and well executed. This we believe is significantly attributed to Kate, our tour guide. She was very organized, informative, gave good instructions to avoid tourists getting lost, was very knowledgeable on the history of her country, personable, charming and high energy.
Our guide Peter Chou is patient, full of energy and very informative. He always makes sure meeting point are clearly communicated. I will recommend to others.
I would probably only recommend this tour if you are running out of things to do. Whilst the places it goes to are quite interesting they are extremely busy with tourists. The guide did her best but there were also some Japanese tourists so she had to repeat everything in English and Japanese which became tiresome The coach was ok, not a great deal of legroom and you get dropped off the other side of town from where you get picked up for some reason. The last stop is only of any interest if you want to buy a lantern to fly. Whilst this is traditional it is basically just polluting the landscape and river when they come down, which you can see if you cross the bridge. They are everywhere. I don’t want to be ultra critical as it was not an expensive tour. Might be better to do midweek when it would be quieter. If you don’t like ultra touristy places then best avoided.
A very full day, filled with interesting places to see. Our guide was very knowledgeable. We stopped at the waterfall first, which had a lot of steps but was well worth it for the view. Then to Shifen old town to release a lantern, which was fun. We then headed to Jiufen old town and managed to see the tea house and stop for some lunch. Last was the geopark where we got to see the incredible rock formations. It did feel a little rushed at times, where as soon as we had saw something and taken a picture, it was time to leave, but I guess with the travelling and time constraints that was to be expected. Also be prepared for a lot of walking, stairs, and people!
I took this tour one day ahead of a monster typhoon. Francis and her backend team were amazing. She was able to keep our group organized and getting from place to place. The bus was very comfortable, and her instructions on how to get back to the bus (in picture form) were super clear and appreciated! The stops were great and we'll worth seeing. I loved the lanterns, and Jiufen was beautiful. Due to the typhoon, we had to divert to another geological park - but this one was just as beautiful, and Francis always maintained a positive and can do attitude. We really appreciated her and this tour!
Tour was great, covered many activities for the day. Due to approaching typhoon, Yeliu portion had to be canceled as it was closed. They made last minute arrangements and took us to another geopark which was fantastic in my opinion. Our tour guide Frances did such a wonderful job. She shared details of each activity in great depth, where to go what to do and maps how to head back to the bus. She shared details of how to prepare in a typhoon. She’s very thorough. After the tour ended, Frances even helped me catch a taxi in pouring rain. I would love to attend another tour guided by Frances.
Arron, our tour guide, was exceptional. The bus had an engine issue, and we could not continue on the tour by the same bus. Arron managed to find two public buses to get us to Jiufen and then another bus to meet us in Jiufen to take us to the Yehliu Geopark. His confidence and enthusiasm were greatly appreciated. We were only a little behind schedule but managed to see everything on the tour. I'm not sure many guides would go to the lengths he did but we all were impressed and happy that we covered the whole itinerary. Thank you, Arron!
Very good package. Excellent service. Very economical.
It is fast paced, a lot in the time allocated. A lot of steps. Keeping up and punctuality is appreciated by the group.
Good sight seeing locations. Lot’s of crowds.
Good tour. Time division was not ideal — waterfalls are not necessary, it was more of a photoop. In Jiufen after 1930 most things are already closing. Not too many explanation along the way + the guide had to split his time between English and Japanese. It was a packed trip, on the positive side, and it would probably be very hard to organize aline. Lanterns in Shifen were super cool.
Overall a very good and long day. You just need to know there are no electrical outlets on the bus to charge your devices.
Highly recommend. Very well organised. Good amount of time at each stop. I doubt I would’ve gone to Jiufen or Shifen without this tour and I’d have truly missed out. Frances was a great guide, really pleasant and a joy to be around.
Full day to four sites. I loved each one. Wish we had had longer at stop three but great day all in all. Beautiful scenery and our guide Frances was excellent. Sue told us what we would see and how to best use our time in each spot.
Honestly, this tour was amazing and beyond my expectations. Our guide Lynn was GREAT! Highly recommended.
Great job by Lynn the tour guide. Provide detailed information on the sites. She provided lots of time to see the sights. Fantastic tour over all.
Isabella (Pei Yun?) did a marvelous job. Right amount of talking and information and humor!! Learnt a lot about Taiwan and the people here.
Great tour, our guide Lin was super friendly and informative. Easy way to see a lot in one day, would recommend
Our tour guide Isabella did an excellent job keeping us informed and on track. The sites provided an interesting look at the less populated areas.
The tour was very good and I enjoyed it overall. A lot of time to explore the highlights. Amy was exceptional.
We researched and went back and forth about the best way to see Jiufen and Shifen in a day. This group tour option wound up being our choice and we’re so glad we went with it. Highlights included the late afternoon time at Yehliu Geo Park (a must!); strolling through and having tea in Jiufen; and of course releasing the lantern in Shifen, and the nearby waterfall. We were worried going in that the stops might feel rushed, but our guide Miya was extremely well organized and provided excellent info for each of the four stops. They clearly know how to get you around and maximize your time. Shifen felt like it went fast but there was more than ample time to decorate and release the lantern, and everywhere else we had more than ample time — and luckily for us not big crowds. (We went on a Thursday). We had about 16-20 total in our group but it never felt like that slowed us down. The bus was extremely comfortable. And you save a lot of $$ by doing it this way versus a private driver or going on your own. Also, the night market at Raohe and the temple next to it were fantastic — and on the bus Miya showed a helpful video on what to see and try in the market. We like to do a lot of sights on our own, but if you only have a day available, this tour was a great way to see a lot for a good value.
This was a full day experience! I really enjoyed the geo park in particular. Our tour guide Miya was very good.
It was such a fun day, tiring but Worth it, the guide (Kelly shao) was awesome, she told us everything in our every destination, the foods are great, the historical landmark and the people.. overall it was a fun day!!
Pauline was our tour guide, and she was very experienced, knowledgeable, and entertaining. She kept us informed throughout the trip, shared the history of the places we visited, and provided many interesting facts along the way. We first visited Shifen Waterfall, where we stopped briefly to take photos. We then participated in a lantern-lighting experience before proceeding to Jiufen. Jiufen was a lot of fun. Pauline gave us great recommendations on where to buy pineapple cakes, enjoy soup dumplings, and visit other must-see places. We also visited Yehliu to see the famous geological formation known as the “Queen’s Head.” It was an action-packed and enjoyable trip from beginning to end. Pauline helped make the entire experience informative, fun, and memorable.
Pauline was a great tour guide. I was impressed as she did everything in English, Mandarin, and Japanese throughout the day. This is a long day, Pauline gives you history at each stop, and more importantly calls out which food vendors to try and which ones to skip. Would definitely recommend this tour if Pauline is in charge!
Pauline kept us well informed on the agenda, kept us on schedule, and share lots of great tips. Great tour and magnificent tour guide.
Rock formations were very cool. Rebecca Chen is very lively and fun. The waterfall was pretty, it was a very unique experience with the lantern release and the street. Unfortunately no train passed by when we were there, but it was still interesting. Jiufen was very busy, but the lights were very pretty. We recommend going to a teahouse to wind down from the huge amounts of people :).
Got a good tour for the money. Visits to the old cities: Sifen and Juifen, were very crowded with tourists despite rainy weather. A little too shopping oriented. Would have been nice to get a bit more historical context. Tour meeting place was convenient and easy to find. Tour guide kept large group organized. She spoke three languages without skipping a beat. Drop off was at Raohe Night Market or back to the meeting point. Nice to have a choice!!
Amazing places to visit and great food
Amy was fabulous! Kept us on time, posted info took photos and posted. The planned tour guide were quality. AMAZING
Overall, amazing experience!! We had Miya as our guide and she well organized and very informative. She made the tour very efficient, by setting up the lantern colors you wanted before hand, also with snack orders. Allowing it to be a seamless enjoyable time at Shifen. Highly recommend!! There are lots of hills and stairs at Jiufen. So be prepared!
Not wheelchair accessible. Moves pretty quickly. Not much time to enjoy and interact at your own pace. A lot if walking, numerous stairs. Good if you have no physical disabilities.
30+ in the group. A large comfortable a/c bus. Well-paced itinerary, although an extra 30mins in Jiufen would have been welcome, for some shopping. James did a good job, however some in the party struggled with the walking and steps and it appeared this wasn’t warned in the information. Very good value for money.
Better than expected sites, waterfall and geo park were my favorites. James, our guide was helpful with instructions. Lots of walking and stairs wasn't mentioned in description.
Great experience that gives a very nice full day of the many facets of the north. Bus was comfortable and timely, our guide Amy, was knowledgeable and provided great insight. We were able to release our lanterns on the train tracks which was a really cool experience. It was quite warm out, but an overall lovely tour with lots of walking and sights to see.
There is a real variety of experiences on this tour. Touristy in places, but also some natural parks and landscapes.
The tour does go fairly quick once you are at your destination. Please pay attention to your guides because they will give you instructions on where to go at each stop. There are many places to eat so if you want to try different foods, eat a light breakfast. We had Amy who was a great tour guide. I commented that she is very energetic and shows excitement during the tour.
Better tour guide, it was rated 2/10, some activities were not explained. We paid for taxis in addition without knowing it is not covered. Terrible tour operator.
Great tour. The guide was fantastic and we covered a lot of ground. So many different sights to see. Just a wonderful day.
It was perfect. Everyone was nice. Highly recommend. I will definitely book more tours with this app.
Tour guide Allan was an amazing guide through the entire full day experience. From perfect photo ops to historical summary of each stop was priceless. Highly recommended!
Our tour was amazing! We got to see so much of Taipei and explore areas further afield that we probably would not have discovered on our own. Our tour guide, Jerry, was fantastic. He was so organized, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and kind. He made the whole experience easy, enjoyable, and memorable.
