Itinerary
Meet your personal tour guide at Keelung Harbor.
The Taipei National Palace Museum is a world-class museum that hosts an eclectic collection of treasures kept by generations of Emperors ruling from the Forbidden City. In WWII, Nationalist troops seized the most important pieces in order to prevent invaders from ransacking China's national treasures. A twist of fate eventually brought these treasures to Taiwan.
Many festivals and celebrations are held in Lungshan, often called "meeting place of the gods" for the wealth of deities worshipped here. Lungshan means "Dragon Mountain.
The most prominent historical landmark in Taiwan, the CKS Memorial Hall was erected in honor and memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, the former President of the Republic of China, and was opened in 1980 as part of a national park and gathering area. The name of the square is officially Liberty Square, as seen above the front gate, however the name change was politically motivated and most people in practice still refer to the entire complex as CKS Memorial Hall.
Taiwanese cuisine's mecca and home to the original (and world-renowned) Din Tai Fung restaurant (located along Xinyi Road), Yong Kang Street is a must visit destination for all travelers to Taipei City. Housing restaurants and cafés that cater to all budgets, Yongkang Street and its neighboring lanes and alleys are home to more than 30 operations, not including night market carts and independent merchants that line the streets selling all types of food, including pan-Chinese cuisine, Korean, Japanese, Western, and unique fusion dishes unique to Yong Kang.
Towering above the city like the gigantic bamboo stalk it was designed to resemble, Taipei 101 is impossible to miss. At 508m, Taipei 101 held the title of 'world's tallest building' for a number of years. Until 2011, it also held the title of the world's tallest green building.
Your personal tour guide will escort you back to Keelung Port at the end of the tour.

We had a wonderful tour of Taiwan with our tour guide, Vincent Lee! He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and made the entire trip smooth and enjoyable. We visited the Changing of the Guards, Lungshan Temple, the Grand Hotel, the Memorial Hall, Yongkang Street, and Taipei 101. Everything was well organized, and we returned to our cruise ship on time without any worries. Vincent did a fantastic job, and we highly recommend him to anyone visiting Taiwan!
It was a perfect day our driver guide Jackson did an excellent job pacing it out for us. We saw exactly what we wanted to see and then for lunch he took us for dumplings at a Michelin star dumpling place. They were amazing. This is the tour to take thank you Jackson for an incredible day.
Great day with Roger. Our time was limited and he worked with us to ensure we hit all the main sites we were interested in seeing, along with a few surprises. Perfect timing for and awesome, lunch at Din Tai Fung then changing of the guard at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial
Jennifer was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable, we learned so much about the history and culture of Taipei and Taiwan. I highly recommend this tour if you want a fun day of amazing places to visit
Jackson met us at the cruise terminal. Our first stop was the Chaing Kai-Shek Memorial. Since I’m a bird nerd, Jackson took us around the gardens for quite some time while I photographed birds. We then visited the memorial building. We wanted to go to the jade market, so that was our second stop where we spent 30 minutes. We went to the Grand Hotel for a delicious lunch and to check out this beautiful hotel. Some of our group of 4 wanted to do some shopping, so Jackson dropped us off at a shopping area. Next we went to the National Palace Museum. Our day was tailor made for our interests and Jackson was extremely accommodating and fun to be with. We made a new friend and will definitely use him again the next time we are in Taiwan. The day was fantastic!
Excellent tour of Taipei! Vincent was an amazing guide. He customized it for us so that we saw everything we wanted and ended the night at Keelung Market. Highly recommend him and the tour.
Chao Chao was an excellent guide. She was knowledge, friendly, and customized our itinerary to our interests, priorities, and pace. Had a great time in Tapei - can't believe how much we were able to see in a day. Had a memorable shore excursion.
We were a group of 12 adults off a cruise ship. Our tour guide was Nana. She was brilliant, had a great sense of humour and took great photographs and video. She made us a personalised video at the end. Highly recommended tour.
Henry was very knowledgeable, upbeat and friendly and considerate – – everything you would want in a guide.
Henry is an excellent guide. Weather was really bad, raining so he gave us a choice on what to see & it was a god choice. All his suggestions on food, sites were all excellent. He even lent us his exceptional photo capabilities. Hope our future guide will be like him.
Thank you Vincent for a great day in Taipei. We had an excellent overview of the key hi-lights & you looked after us so well in the rain. ☔️ Your videos before each landmark were very informative & your insight taking us around the National Palace Museum made the experience so wonderful!! You went out of your way to assist us - a great dumplings luncheon & so many terrific photos you took of us together have given us great memories too.
What an outstanding day we had in Taipei with YOLO Tours! Our guide, "Roger," was knowledgeable, personable, and kind. He showed us around the best sights in a private excursion and even managed to work around the rain. If you're traveling to Taipei, I can't recommend him highly enough!
Customizable, many options available, very comfortable ride and excellent guide, Junior Wu. He is kind, prompt, experienced, knowledgeable and fun!
We had an excellent experience touring parts of Taipei and Keelung with Cody. He took care to give us experiences we did not know to ask foe - like the cafe under Taipei 101. He walked through streets & markets with us, translating , explaining and encouraging us to try new things. The pictures He took and sent to us helped us capture the day that selfies dont always do. After doing 4 other Private custom tours in the last month, I can say that is not always the case. I highly recommend Cody and this tour.
Vincent took us to several places we asked to see including the museum and where we could release a lantern with our wishes. He had a very nice vehicle and was on time to pick us up.
Our tour driver was Alex. He was a delight to have as a tour guide, because he had worked in the US, so his English was very good. It was a rainy day, and Alex did his best to show us the sights of Keelung. We wanted to see the highlights of Keelung because we had already been sightseeing in Taipei. Enroute to Yehliu Geo Park, Alex showed us a beautiful viewpoint. And at Yehliu, he was very good at showing us how to get around and see the best rock formations. We learned so much about the history of Keelung from Alex. I would recommend him as a guide.
Tour was excellent. It was a full day, but not to intense walking wise. Our driver, Paul, was great. Personable, knowledgeable, professional, and safe. He made sure that the experience was comfortable and at our pace. We would definitely do this tour again in the future.
Excellent tour with great driver/guide (Paul). Tour was interesting, but not intense. Paul was knowledgeable and happy to enlighten us about his country. We would gladly do this tour again.
We had a fantastic experience with Nicolas as our tour guide. Nicolas was punctual, polite, knowledgeable, fun to be with and provided us with a lot of assistance in making sure that we have a great time. Thank you, Nicolas!
We had one day in Taipei and booked this individual tour. Our guide was Nicolas. He is a knowledgeable person who will tell you all the necessary information in history, local education, health care and daily life in Taipei. He is an excellent driver you feel safe in his car. Besides the main places of interest Nicolas took is to the restaurant in 101. Please ask for it and enjoy the variety of the local food. It is excellent.
Our family had an absolutely unforgettable day in Taiwan, thanks to Vincent! From the seamless, air-conditioned pickup to the deeply knowledgeable, friendly, and English-speaking service, every detail felt like a VIP experience. Vincent was flexible with what we wanted to do, allowing us to see amazing spots at our own pace—highly recommend!
This guy is next level. Amazing profile. Amazing service. He protected us, showed us amazing sights and tailor-made it all for our family and children (grandparents and grandchildren). Highly recommend him. Comfort, class and experience.
We had a great tour with Chiao-Chiao. She took us to all the highlights with the limited time we had - Lungshan Temple, an amazing street market, helped us order lunch, the CHK memorial and the changing of the guards and more. We had a great time and made a new friend.
We are four well traveled adults who spent the day with Vincent as our driver/guide. He worked very hard to get us to the most popular sites. The vehicle was extremely comfortable. Although he spoke English, he was somewhat difficult to understand at times and we may not have gotten the benefit of his explanations.. We walked about 11,000 steps and we were quite tired in the end. Tried eating at food court at Taipei 101 but too congested on a Sunday and no tables available. He offered to take us someplace else, but we really were quite tired by then.
Vincent Lee was an excellent tour guide. My husband can’t walk too far and steps are a challenge. Vincent got us to every venue taking care to point out the elevators and joining us to explain everything we were viewing. We wanted to eat dumplings and beef noodle soup he ordered for us and we truly enjoyed that meal. We never felt rushed and we covered all the main sites that day. Our last stop was to try stinky tofu (our request). Vincent again ordered for us and we were not disappointed with this cultural experience. I would definitely do this again!
We were very surprised about this tour given that we had read many excellent reviews. Our driver was Jordan. He contacted us to confirm pick up details at the port and was there on time with a nice, clean vehicle. Our first surprise was after we got in the vehicle, when he asked us where we wanted to go. This was a little confusing at first but he agreed to all that was on the written itinerary. Jordan was a great driver and efficiently got us to each location but that was all. He didn’t come in to the locations with us. Just took our picture at each entrance at left us at each location. He was always there to pick us up as agreed. But he wasn’t a guide. He didn’t tell us about the locations we visited or any details about Taipei or the culture. We learned nothing about the Longshan Temple or the Memorial Hall and their historical significance. While we appreciated the transportation the lack of guiding was a big disappointment.
The best way to discover Keelung/Taipei in a day. Our tour guide, James Feng, was just amazing! We were able to check off all items in our "wish list" in a day. James was very professional and knowledgeable about the places we visited, and took very good photos of our experiences!!! This tour is a must when you have a limited time in Taiwan. VERY Highly recommended!!!
Henry Huang was an excellent guide. He took us to all the highlights of Taipei, found us a great restaurant for lunch, and got us back to the ship on time. He is very knowledgeable on Taipei history and landmarks, and very happy to talk about his country. We were also able to hire him to take us to the airport later that day. We would highly recommend him!
The experience was awesome, again we had a great time with Vincent very kind and respectful and so helpful with my sister that she had a problem walking. Thank you Vincent
Mr Jackson did great job even though rainy day. We did look out most of the Taipei city in a short period of time. He carefully managed the plan and gave us a lot of stories about taiwan.
Jackie Lo was great as our guide in Taipei. He was timely in meeting us and was very patient as our wives wanted to spend a lot of time shopping (more so than their husbands). We would highly recommend Jackie to any visitor to Taipei.
We had a wonderful day with Vincent Lee. He guided us to numerous historical sites across Taipei and ensured we were always at the right spot for fantastic photos. He taught us about the history and culture of Taiwan and took us to several popular food spots in the Yongkang Street district. Vincent picked us up at the cruise port and ensured we were back well before our departure time.
Our tour guide “Bubbles” was fantastic, very knowledgeable and kept us on schedule. The tour had various location and a good range of things to see and do.
We cruised into Keelung, Taiwan for 2 days at port. We arranged two days of private tours with Yolo Taiwan, and what a great decision it was. It was substantially less than the cruise line excursions, and we packed way more into our time there than we would have had with the cruise excursions. In addition, our two drivers (1 each day) were beyond exceptional. After making the reservation, we were contacted by Yolo to work on our itinerary with what we wanted to do while we were there. They had some prearranged tours, but we decided to put our own together with what we wanted to see….. no problem on their end. Our arrival into port was delayed for close to 4 hours, but Vincent Hsu (our 1st day guide) was right there waiting for us when we got off. He was amazing!! We had incredible conversations about Taiwan and its history, and he is truly an amazing person. We cut our tour short due to our late arrival, but we created a strong bond in a short amount of time with him. My wife and I took the tour with my mother, and with Vincent we felt like he was part of the family. Vincent is also ex Taiwan military, was a paid bodyguard of VIP’s during Covid, and he had a bulletproof van (not that it was needed…..lol). Taiwan is a very safe place, but we felt even safer with Vincent. Our 2nd day was a packed day with 6 major stops. Our guide was Jackson for the day, and he was also an amazing guide!! He was great to talk to about Taiwan and everything. I don’t want to spoil it, but he does have a surprise for his guests (it involves a golden microphone). It is a memory that we will never forget!! I don’t understand why more people don’t opt for customized private tours. Yolo Taiwan does a fantastic job, and they have remarkably talented guides that speak English, and are native from Taiwan. We took the tours to see Taiwan (and it is incredibly beautiful), but it is the personal relationships that we created with our guides that we will remember the most!! Do yourself a favor and book a private tour, and hopefully you will have Vincent or Jackson as your guide!! It will create memories that will last a lifetime!!
On a 9-night Princess Cruise docking in Keelung port overnight(2 full days), I booked 8 hr private tour(English speaking) for family of 4(parents + daughters ages 18 & 21). Jackson met us promptly if not early at port. He immediately exceeded our expectations by answering any ??s we had such as exchanging usd to nt$, Wi-Fi, charging devices etc…his VW van easily accommodated 4, had a/c and a karaoke mic, which entertained us around the 5th hr of our journey, battling minor traffic to the next site. In 8 hrs Jackson customized our tour, especially making a guided tour FUN for the adult kiddos. We stopped where large tour buses could not to get photo op moments, gave us a “local perspective” on THE BEST cuisine, gifts to bring home, mango shave ice, boba drinks etc…for example, Jackson reserved seating at Din Tai Fung while we explored Taipei 101! COOL to squeeze in so much sightseeing in an 8 hr period. Jackson understood the importance of creating a momentous family experience for us in Taiwan. XIE XIE/MAHALO NUI LOA, Jackson
If I could have given 10 stars I would have! Jimmy Lin was an outstanding tour guide. He took us to many wonderful sites. An added bonus was that he took our photos at every site and sent them to us at the end of the day. The lunch spot he chose was fabulous and very inexpensive.
We spend great time in this trip, food was incredible and guide was very professional , highly recommended
Wonderful experience. Got to see so many of the Main sites in this full day your. We were able to view things on our own leisure as this was a private tour with just two people and our guide/driver. Was able to cover so much in a limited amount of time.
Vincent Lee was a fantastic guide. We would rate him higher if we could. This was by far the best excursion of our cruise. Vincent Lee was on time, very friendly, knowledgeable and more. He showed us many interesting places, took us to areas that truly gave insight about Taiwan. He made our day so special!! Loved it!!
Our driver/guide Ben arrives at the port on time. He greeted us with warm welcome. The vehicle is so comfortable and clean equipped with travel necessities like hand sanitizer, bottled water, umbrella, power plug, trash can and many more. Ben is very knowledgeable and pays attention to details. He attends to our personal needs and tour preferences. He ensures our well being with his attentiveness to road safety. Each attraction is well explained. Not only an excellent tour guide but a good photographer as well. His creativity makes good photos souvenir of our Taipei experience. Physically challenged and senior tourists will definitely benefit from this tour.
Vincent was an excellent guide. Very personable and flexible. Nice vehicle. Planned an excellent lunch stop. I highly recommend him.
Great day touring with Mac! He covered everything on the city tour plus some hidden gems! Highly recommended!
Our group thoroughly enjoyed our day with Saito and we did everything we asked for in the time available. The Glass bottom boat was probably the best we have ever experienced and the caves and viewpoint created a memorable trip for all of us. Saito took many photos and he is an excellent photographer, which was an added bonus for our visit. Saito was also knowledgeable and answered all our questions as we learnt about Ishigaki. It was my wife, Gilly's birthday and Saito made sure she had a fantastic day on the island. Our trip was for six, but booking on one tour was harder than usual and this could be better in future for others/
James and Henry went above and beyond to make the day was special for me and my family. making sure the day was exactly what we wanted
We had a fantastic cruise excursion in Taipei with our guide Nicolas Ying! We were picked up right from the port, which was very convenient, as many other companies require a central town meeting point. We were able to select the sites we were most interested in seeing, and Nicolas help put together an itinerary around it, adjusting to our pace. After lunch we ended up at a local tea shop, which wasn't planned, but ended up as a highlight experience! We also made it back to port right on schedule, which is always something I'm nervous about when booking outside the cruise line. It was a wonderful day, and we would absolutely use YOLO Taiwan again!
We had wonderful time with our tour guide Nicolas Ying under Yolo Taiwan International Company Limited. He is very accomodating and entertaining.
From our guide, Ben Tseng, suggestions….. we made choices of where to visit and experienced so much in our one day tour. The van made it safe and convenient getting to the sights. Ben’s English was good and we understood him well.
Sean went out of his way to make sure we had a great day out. He even found us a KFC and Burger King so we could eat Western food (eventhough this must have been a personal disappointment for him and probably an affront to his culture). The itinerary was comprehensive and he wanted to show us more but we insisted on being taken back to the ship early just in case of traffic jam or accident that might make us late.
Our guide, “Peter” 葛青萍, did a fantastic job of showing us the highlights of Jiufen, Shifen and the surrounding areas. He also ensured we had opportunities to try all the foods and treats we had on our “bucket list”, to include a pleasant stop at a Jiufen tea house to experience the local tea culture. We highly recommend!
