Miya was Great! We had rain, but Miya made it work. Very knowledgeable and efficient. An extra half hour in Shiffen for the lanterns and an extra half hour at the waterfall would have been nice. Both felt rushed to stay on schedule. Other than that, 5 stars. Miya was amazing!
There are a lot of beautiful things to see on this tour. Becca is a real friendly and fun guide.
Well paced, comfortable coach, informative guide, not pushy on sales. Saw Jiufen at night and got lucky with a pause in the rain!
If you are more independent and prefer to wander around on your own, this may be the tour for you. I would say this tour was less about learning about the history and more about dropping you off at the sights and then picking you up. The guide was very talented in which she spoke 3 different languages. The only issue I had was finding her in the very beginning because 5 other tour guides were wearing the same color shirt, yellow, on the same day. It was very stressful in the beginning! It was great seeing all the different sights and the bus was very comfortable with air conditioning.
Very paced and efficient tour to see the 3 attractions. We had very rainy weather however, James Chen guided a big group of different people with different languages very efficiently and nice. Despite the weather a funny day.
Jeffery was absolutely amazing!! He taught the group so much about the sites we visited and gave us helpful guides to the city. Thank you so much for making this so memorable! :)
The meet up was easy. The bus was comfortable with plenty of ac. Every place required money so bring extra if u want to participate.
5/5. James was the best tour guide. Friendly, helpful, and made us feel like 家己人 — one of his own. Highly recommend.
Amazing experience with an amazing guide! Kelly was so so sweet, friendly and awesome! We recommend highly.
Well worth it. Loved all the places we went to. The Jiufen market was a little long for 2.5 hours. We were pretty tired by then but still enjoyed the experience.
Mia was an excellent guide, and the tour was very well organized from start to finish. The areas get quite crowded and chaotic during peak season, but she managed the pace and logistics really smoothly, which made a big difference. She explained everything clearly and prepared us ahead of each stop, so the day flowed seamlessly. Overall, a its well-run tour.. I’d recommend
Great place to visit. Tour well organized. James did a great job on explaining the places. Be prepared to walk a lot and many stairs.
Everything was Good including the Guide and the Places Visited. Only thing that was disturbing was the Driver Who wouldn't let you into the Bus if you came back before time.🤔
Thomas wu is extremely helpful and explains things well and goes above and beyond. He will helps and explained and contact if lost
Very nice lady guide, i really liked the lanterns, I also did like the view from every spot. A little long tour for me personally, next time i prefer half-day trip, but it was worth it
Evelyn was absolutely wonderful, she made the experience so fun & educational. I would recommend Evelyn and this tour to anyone, thank you! :-)
Suni was very friendly & kind. Entertaining & informative. Great venues. Especially enjoyed Houtong. Would recommend the tour to anyone looking to get out of the city.
Joseph was a great guide. Very efficient and great planning. Provided good recommendation to visit the tea house and for places to visit in Taiwan
Jerry was the absolute best tour guide—hilarious, kind, and totally gave off fun dad energy. He somehow spoke like four languages during our tour (??) which was wild to witness. Even though it was a 7-hour tour, it never felt rushed—we got to see everything and still enjoy every moment. The scenery was unreal. If you're planning to do the lantern experience, I’d recommend asking to wait until there’s no one behind you before releasing it—mine turned out super crowded in the pics, which was my only regret. Other than that, this tour is a solid 10/10. And Jerry? He’s a 20/10. You won’t regret booking!
This experience was a mix of breathtaking beauty and less-than-ideal conditions. The waterfall itself was absolutely amazing—powerful, mesmerizing, and worth the visit. It was one of those moments where nature truly takes your breath away. One of the most magical parts of the trip was the lantern release. Even though the sky was cloudy, the lanterns still floated effortlessly, creating a surreal and peaceful moment. Watching them rise into the mist was something special, almost dreamlike. However, what was supposed to be a scenic, picturesque area ended up being completely obscured by rain and fog. Instead of panoramic views, we saw only gray mist. The charm of the place was definitely there, but with zero visibility, it was hard to appreciate it fully. The climb—300 steps up and down—was another challenge. Normally, I wouldn’t mind a good workout, but add in the cold, wet conditions and a massive crowd of people wielding umbrellas, and it became more uncomfortable than enjoyable. Navigating through tight spaces while avoiding getting poked by umbrellas made it a little frustrating. Due to the continuing rain and it being cold and wet I ended up bypassing the night market which I had really been looking forward to Overall, the experience had its highs and lows. The waterfall and lanterns were absolutely worth it, but the weather and crowd made parts of the trip more exhausting than expected. If I had the chance to go again, I’d definitely aim for a clearer, drier day.
Jeffrey Wu is the best tour guide! Super knowledgeable, personable, and funny! We thoroughly enjoyed how varied the experiences were in this tour, from the waterfall, to the Geopark, to the lanterns—everything was beautiful, memorable, and so worth the trip. We were never once bored. Communication is via WhatsApp so make sure at least one person in your group has that downloaded—instructions and pictures were very clear so we were never lost or confused.
James was amazing guide, keeping track of so many people with different languages and giving special attention to everybody.
We absolutely loved our tour. We felt it was great value and had plenty of time to explore each of the stops in the itinerary. Taiwan’s own train street at Shifen, the waterfall and Jiufen were a great way to spend a day exploring outside of Taipei. The day was made so much better by Vince and his commentary throughout the day. Informative and hilarious at times! He was great for a chat and would check-in with us throughout the entire day to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Bus was spacious and comfortable and the bottled water and USB charging was greatly appreciated.
Joanna our guide was very knowledgeable and the amount of time at each stop was perfect. The shifen Falls were magnificent including the suspension bridges to get to the falls. Customizing and releasing the lantern was fun and the views from Jiufen were nice including a visit to a tea house.
The waterfall was beautiful, launching the lanterns was fun and a different experience. I was very disappointed with Jiufen, not because of the tour but because it was extremely overcrowded, so much that you were crammed in with throngs of people ( reminds me of the pictures I’ve seen lately of Rome and Venice) and this was off season January!! Never made it to the top.
Great tour, loved sending the lantern to the air, the guide and people were friendly and what they lacked in language skills they made up with friendly and helpful attitude. The places themselves were gorgeous and exciting, but be aware that there is a lot of walking uphill and on stairs, so if you have mobility issues, it might be tricky... All in all enjoyed the tour thoroughly!
Our tour guide Vince was great. He has lots of energy and knowledge and made the day a lot of fun. Plan for inclement weather even if the city says it will be nice. Lots of rain. Better to have more than needed. There will be room to store your extras above if not needed. For this tour be prepared for plenty of stairs.
Team Pauline! She was totally ON IT and it made our trip flawless. This is a sprint not a marathon, please note that you dont really get a chance to be laid back and enjoy yourself until the 3rd location (Shifen old street). Otherwise this was a great tour!
The tour started out with a little difficulty. Apparently, there are 3 (or more) Gate 3. The scheduled time was 1:15 pm. I was there before 1 pm. Jeff sent me a picture of the correct gate and I was able to solve the problem. Our guide, Robin Lu is the worst guide I have experienced. His English was inadequate at best. He saw his job as getting us to the site and telling us where and when to reconvene. Provided little or no information and walked away. On the last leg of the trip, it was dark and the uphill path was slippery. I need ed a guide. Apparently he was having dinner with a friend. I will think seriously before I travel with Trip Advisors.
Such a wonderful afternoon! Lyndon our guide was incredible! Full of knowledge, kind and thoughtful! Definitely recommend’
It was very crowded with a lot of tourists, but I enjoyed going around these famous spot by private car. Thank you so much!
Stunning Experience, it was raining but the lantern was Magical, Very lovely town, we couldn't see the fall because the weather. This is a must Tour, mostly things are not included but everything is worthy, Friends 😊
Very Amazing Tour, it was Magical to see the Latern, the weather was very bad but we count see the Fall. I didn't want to have a Tea Ceremony because I had one in my tour before but I had fun in that Magical town 😊
Barbie was very knowledge and enthusiastic about Taiwan. It was also very impressive that she speaks at least 4 languages! The Shifen Waterfall was an amazing site to behold! Pictures did not do it justice. Shifen Old Street had some amazing food, the ice crème crepes were delicious as were the xiao lung baos! The best part of Old Street were the paper lanterns, which were much larger than I thought they would be! My husband and I had so much fun!
Really an amazing trip... little much heat for the walk to waterfalls... might need more warning about the up and down trail ...especially for older folks... but everything else was great
The tour was so much fun. It took us to some of the most beautiful and unique locations in Taiwan. Our guide Mia was amazing as well!! She was very knowledgeable and helpful and kind.
Lendl was a great guide, explaining everything, funny, informative, we had a great day visiting the waterfall, Juifen and the night markets. A big day, lots of walking (and stairs) so sensible shoes are recommended
Perfect whole day of packed activities. Waterfall was amazing. As was the old street! Probably the most beautiful and picturesque place in Taiwan for me. So definitely half I chose to go.
Our english guide turned out to be a non english speaking driver. Thankfully the Japanese family translated for us . We were delivered safely and it was convenient to be taken and returned to the city. The driver was friendly but we learnt nothing about the area of any landmarks along the way- an efficient taxi service rather than a tour.
十分:lighting up 天灯 andsee train Infront of u at railway 九份: The sunset view is stunning. Best to stay till evening for best lighting and sunset glimpse. Guide is good to bring u around for best spots. Waterfall area is nice as well
The destinations were amazing and our guide was very accommodating and allowed some flexibility in the location and timing.
Amazing Tour to the waterfall the lantern festival and the old mining town shiffren. Only: At shiffren the 2 hours are good enough to get an overview but to try more of the rich cousine its not sufficient
Shifen Waterfall-People should be made aware of the many flights of stairs. Wear athletic shoes. The guide walked us up the “old street”. No tour. Disappointing. Juifen- guide just dropped us off. No tour, I was rather disappointed again. No night market tour
We had a wonderful time on the tour! We’re from the US and in Taipei for our honeymoon, and this was a perfect way to get out of the city to see some beautiful scenery, send off a paper lantern, and buy some souvenirs in the night market. The tour was the perfect combination of walking around with the guide and exploring on our own. I highly recommend for anyone interested!
I thought about going to Jiufen and Shifen on my own, but I'm glad I chose this tour instead! Overall it was a great experience and the tour guide Alan was professional and friendly. We showed up 10 mins early at the meeting place and he was already waiting for us. He sent me and other tour participants a what's app message a day earlier so I was certain I could get in touch with him in any case. He drove a nice mini-van and took us to 3 destinations. He showed us around, took tons of pictures (he is a great photographer!), gave us enough time at all three desitnations. I think we spent the right amount of time everywhere and the whole trip was super efficient. We also got dropped off at Raohe Night Market around 8:15-8:30, which wasn't too late to explore it. I'm also quite happy with all the photos Alan took and forwarded promptly to us. If you're looking to go to Jiufen in the evening, I highly recommend this tour!
nice places with nice people wonderful tour guide excellent experience with Taipei weather is also very nice with excellent food
First I had messaged questions about the meeting point a few days before the tour. No one ever got back to me until the night (5:45pm) before the tour saying that the tour is cancelled because not enough participants signed up. In the same message, they asked me if I wanted to join the same tour but different meeting point. I replied saying yes and some questions - no reply. On the morning of the tour, I messaged them again on TripAdvisor and on Line App asking them to confirm I was added to the tour - still no communication from them. I got fed up and ended up taking a bus to Jiufen myself. Don’t waste your time with this company as they will leave you hanging. I would book with a different company so this doesn’t happen to you.
Really enjoyable tour with nice sights to see. I was expecting more information, but the tour leader was more of a driver than a guide.
Our tour guide was great .. provided guidance in several languages .. very patient, knowledgeable, friendly and had a little treat waiting for us after one of our stops ( water melon) . He talked about the history of each stop on our 7 hour trip . Would recommend this tour and guide to any travelers to Taiwan
