Lovely tour of the Shilin Night Market. Maggie provided some history of the area in addition to introducing us to some of the popular food options in the area.

Vicki was wonderful and spoke excellent English! She took us to some amazing food spots that we would not have found on our own. Shilin night market is overwhelming! She was very accommodating and allowed us to be adventurous as we wanted to be. The market is quite confusing so having a personal guide is brilliant.

Make sure you are hungry when you start this trip. The food tips are fantastic and the tastings were delicious and very inexpensive. York, our guide, was amazing, knowledgeable and fun. We laughed during the whole walk. Note: some of the best foods were at the end so don’t eat just anything. Be choosy and share items.

My guide, Ivy was so much fun. She met me at our meeting spot right on time and we hit it off right away. Ivy showed me so many great food and drink options in the Night Market. We also tried out the games, bought lotto tickets and used the claw machines for prizes. I had so much fun! I traveled solo and the tour was just the two of us. Her English was fantastic and I learned a few phrases in Mandarin. I would definitely recommend this tour with Ivy.

We had a great and fun tour with Effi at the Shilin night market. She showed us around and helped us pick and buy the snacks that are must tries. We payed less than $30 for the snacks among the 3 of us. Definitely recommend!

This is easily one of the best tours or experiences I’ve ever been on in any country. Vicky had so much information and brought us SO to many incredible spots to try local specialties, providing recommendations for each and helping us to order. We learned and ate so much, and all for less than $10 USD per person. This tour simply cannot be missed!

It was so fun to experience this night market, and really helpful to have a guide to show us her favorite spots, including what is worth waiting in line for, and what to skip. Vicky met us at the MRT station and walked us around the night market. We also stopped in the temple for a few minutes while it was raining, and Vicky was so knowledgeable and shared with us a lot about the history, too.

Really enjoyed the guided stroll around Shilin Night Market. Tasted delicious foods. Was instructed by Jason about the main goddess of the temple there at the market and shown all around the temple. The only thing I wish I had known about this tour was to bring cash to purchase all of the food items. I didn't realize that the foods were not included in the tour price. Wasn't a problem since there was an ATM at the metro station; just would have been nice to know prior to the tour starting.

This is a good size area where you walk around and try different foods from a lot of street vendors. There are also some nice clothing stores mixed in and even some carnival games. So it’s a really mixed batch of interesting things to check out. Our guide Vicki was very knowledgeable and did a great job at trying to make sure we had a good time and try as many foods as we wished. You could do this yourself, but it really is helpful to have someone who’s taking you around and explaining everything to you and even ordering for you and making sure you have what you need. I would recommend it. I did it at the end of my trip, but I would actually recommend it being one of your first tours because it will help. You understand everything you’ll see the next few days after that at other locations

Vicky was great with providing tips in advance of meeting that made it very easy to connect. She was very knowledgeable about the market, food, culture and easily answered any questions. Sadly I had a later lunch so didn’t get to try as many things, but she still explained everything to me. The two hours flew by! I enjoyed the private tour, and made me super comfortable visiting other night markets during my stay in Taipei. Thank you!

Vicky gave us a fabulous tour of the busy and vibrant Shilin Market. The market is huge with stalls across many winding streets, so Vicky’s expertise in finding the best places and suggesting things that we might like to try was very helpful. Vicky made the tour interesting, informative and fun. She was also very kind, queuing for a long time to get us some fried chicken that we were keen to try, allowing us to explore more of the market. All in all an excellent tour and highly recommended.

Our guide, Steven, was so good. We started out with the best fried chicken, almost as soon as we meet up with Steven our guide. he then took us through all the food vendors and would have waited for us for as much time as we wanted at each vendor. A must to do in Taipei. Thanks Steven!!!!!!!!!!1

Very informative and interesting tour of the vibrant Shilin market. Joseph knew his way around the market and helped us gain a better understanding of the history of the locale. Including local cultural and its broader significance to Taiwan life.

Evelyn was our tour guide for the night market. She was FANTASTIC! Evelyn is sweet, thorough, patient, funny and real. Our tour was on our first night in Taipe and she made sure to truly give us a lot of info and insight as we walked around the night market. She suggested items to try and her suggestions were delicious. She also taught us that in local Taiwanese "doh shyah" means "many thanks". That was the best tip ever I used it many times through the rest of our trip and every time I did it would make the people we were talking to smile so big. For real, book this tour with Evelyn and tip her because she is the best. She also went above any beyond and helped us afterward find our bus and stayed with us until it came. She did not have to do that, that is the kind of person she is.

We don’t eat sea food or offal, so it was daunting hunting for street food by ourselves. Our guide Vicky was fabulous. At the meeting point she gave us a bag of sweet potato balls, a great starter to begin our tour. Vicky gave a brief history of the market area at the beginning and planned an itinerary based on our dietary requirements. As we walked, she added stories and facts about the food and people. We toured a temple and learnt more about Chinese customs. We ate many Taiwanese specialties and even when we were full Vicki pointed out stalls we may like to try on another day. All her recommendations were good, and the food was extremely affordable. We highly recommend Vicky and this tour.

We had a lovely tour with May Ei! We ate amazing food in places we never could have found ourselves, and she told us about tons of interesting details regarding the market, Taiwanese culture, and even gave us recommendations for what to do on the next few days of our trip.

This was a very comprehensive introduction to the Shilin market. We learned a lot of history and tried some interesting food. I would suggest that more input on personal tastes is requested so that the tour is more enjoyable. I wasn’t too crazy about some of the food. The last tasting wasn’t done because the vendor wasn’t there but an alternate should have been offered.

May Ei was outstanding in every way, communicated early, gave precise meeting points, communicated so well. She then took me to the great Shilin Night market, allowed me to eat delicious foods, we took five stops!! ended with a temple. She having lived in the USA our connection was easy. She made it a most enjoyable tour and gave me pointers about other things to see in Taipei. May Ei is naturally talented guide and loves what she does.

Deep knowledge of area food, including where to go and where to skip at the market. We really appreciated his patience when our bus ran late! We still got to take in so much of the market.
