Our guide, Susan Chang, is very friendly, approachable, and accommodating. She is also honest and sincere in her recommendations for places to eat, shops to buy souvenirs, and other places to visit. I highly recommend her!

Visit the natural classroom Yehliu Geopark, which shows bizarre terrain formed by thousands of years of geological movement that force the mountain jutting out of the ocean.
Walk for an hour to discover the broadest waterfall in Taiwan, recessed within a beautiful forested mountainside setting, 20 metres (66 ft) in height and 40 metres (130 ft) in width. On a sunny day, there is a possibility of catching the view of a rainbow by the waterfall.
Shifen, get ready for the Sky Lantern Festival that is annually held here, and is increasingly getting recognized globally as a key international folklore event.
One of the most popular attractions. You can stroll in its old cobblestone street and experience the bright period of gold mining.

This is a great tour! Very active, lots of walking and steps! My kids were exhausted by the end and we cut the last stop by an hour because they just didn’t want to do anymore. But it was a great day! We saw so much. It was a very enjoyable day and Jason took great care of us!
Joanna as a guide really help us and very accommodating throughout the trip. Pro tip check the weather before make sure it is not raining
Our guide Xiao-Hei was the best. He was punctual, accommodating, fun and we learned a lot from him. He shared everything he knew about Taiwan. Highly Recommend!
beautiful places and our tour guide is the best
The trip felt a bit rushed but comes with the convenience of easy pickup and drop off at each location. Our guide Jeannie was very helpful and informative. Our driver and ride was safe and comfortable
Very interesting sites, very different experience. We had a good time and very enjoyable. Strongly recommend.
I recently booked a tour of Yehliu, Shifen, and Jiufen through MyProGuide via Klook. The booking process was efficient and the company sent timely emails. Also, the tour guide, Vincent Wu, reached out privately to confirm the meet-up time, location, and itinerary. Both the agency and the guide were responsive to inquiries. Vincent served as our tour guide and maintained a relaxed yet fun and engaging demeanor throughout the day. His English proficiency was clear, and he offered helpful tips to navigate the itinerary in a way that was both smooth and less physically demanding. (Perfect to those with aching knees like me!) Additionally, he assisted with taking photographs at the various locations. The bus transportation provided was comfortable, and the driver operated the vehicle professionally throughout the trip. The itinerary was well-organized, allowing us to complete the scheduled stops seamlessly. Despite experiencing rain during the latter half of the day, the tour proceeded as planned without issue. Overall, this tour provided a well-managed experience. I would recommend this itinerary to others interested in visiting these locations in Northern Taiwan.
Anderson was great! He messaged me through whatsapp the night before and was 15min early for our pickup. Car was clean and A/C was used properly. We really wanted to see all 3 sites at our own leisure. I know we didn't want to spend too much time at Yehilu & Shifen and spend more time in Jiufen. We spent about 30mins in Yehilu, ate lunch for about 40mins in town and about an hour or so for Shifen/waterfalls. Unfortunately, with the traffic going up to Jiufen we still only had about 2hrs to explore. I was hoping for about 3 hrs since we rushed the other sites. 2 hrs was not enough to explore the small town. But we were able to sit and enjoy some tea and do some shopping. We started at 945am and got dropped off by 715pm, making the trip about more the 9 hrs. Well worth it!
Ty May!!! The best tour guide!!! We enjoy our tour very much!
We had a 11am pick up time right outside our Airbnb. Our driver’s name was Ken Lee and he was an English and mandarin speaking driver. It was just a fantastic day the highlight being releasing the lantern in Shifen. My friends and I enjoyed Ken’s guidance at each location regarding what to do and where to go. And he was great for us in the sense that he left us to our own devices and left us to explore freely. On the way home Ken also made many recommendations for food for us in the city that weren’t overly hyped that he thought was nicer than some of the overly hyped places to go to. Thanks Ken for an amazing day!
Jerry was personable and made our day trip very memorable. He showed up on time and gave us insight on the places he took us to.
the best and very friendly tour guide
Mr Nelson Shih is a great tour guide and is very accomodating
Excellent tour, with an excellent tour guide (Evan)
This was such a great way to see a few different places outside of Taipei! One could easily spend a couple of days exploring all that Jiufen has to offer, but we made the most of our short time there. Our guide was so helpful and informative. SO many food options for lunch! Highly recommend this tour!
George was great in showing us shortcuts to the attractions. He was patient with us and really squeezed in all 4 sites for us to enjoy and free time to explore in Juifen. George is friendly as I highly recommend. His English was superb
Excellent tour, i will suggest it to my friends. The tour guide is very hands on, shout out to Rebecca. Will comeback with another tour to another places.
Taking this tour with Joanna was terrific. Our first stop was Yehliu geological park. It’s on a beautiful rocky coast where you walk along paths and see not only the Queen’s Head, but many other nature-made sculptures. Joanna skillfully guided us through paths where we got the best views and avoided standing in the lines where most tourists waited. Our next stop was Jiufen, a small former gold mining town on a cliff. Before we arrived, Joanna explained the significance of the town and provided us maps so that we could easily explore it. We ate at the top of a restaurant near the end of the path with an amazing view of the water. Our next stop was Shifen Waterfall. The waterfall and the walk to it are lovely. After that, Joanna took us to the small town of Shifen, where we decorated a lantern and set it afloat in the sky! Joanna knows all the ins and outs of every place (including where the pristine bathrooms are!). She provided us an excellent description of the history of each area to make the experience even more meaningful. She also bought us a box of our favorite kind of tea. Most thoughtfully, Joanna is a great photographer, and she took many photos and videos of us and sent them to us at the conclusion of our tour. Joanna is energetic, upbeat, and kind. We highly recommend her tour!
We booked a private guided tour and specifically requested a English speaking guide. It was NOT a guided tour. The guy was just a driver and he spoke very little English. There were no explanations of places where we were seeing or recommendations of where we should go. It was pretty much a drop off and pick up service. The driver was nice. However, we were expecting the tour to be guided. It was not worth paying the private tour price. We could've joined the large group tour for the same experience.
our tour guide richard wang is very organized, time bounded and very helpful that made our trip very memorable. he is kind and very professional too. i highly recommend him
We loved our experience with Jerry Liao as our guide! He made us feel very welcome and took us to some amazing spots. We had a lot of fun together and would recommend him to anyone. My girlfriend and I made some loving memories and I will remember them for a long time.
We had a great experience with James as he took us to all the amazing places on the private tour. He explained all the geopark rock formations, the history of Juifen and Shifen, the different foods, cultures, and information about the areas. He took pictures of us as a family, gave us details of the different street food, and helped us order. Highly recommend.
Barry was our guide for a special day in Taiwan. He met us at the cruise terminal in Keelung and took us to all the places on our wishlist. We started at Yehliu geological park. An unforgettable experience! The rock formations are spectacular and Barry made sure we saw everything while making sure we were looked after on a very hot day. We left there and headed out to Jiufen - another memorable site. He took us to a charming tea shop that we accessed through an old mining tunnel opening up to a fantastic sea view. Barry helped us find the food experiences we were looking for. Since it was so very hot he took us to Golden Waterfall instead of Shifen waterfall. We then proceeded to Shifen for a balloon release experience. It was a delight! Exploring the charming Shifen rounded out the day. We were back to our ship in plenty of time!
On a trip to Taipei we wanted to explore a bit further afield so we booked a private guide to take us outside Taipei for the day. George, our guide for the day was phenomenal; a Taiwanese local, very knowledgeable and a great communicator. He picked us up from our hotel and took us through the countryside to our first destination, Yehliu Geo Park for some rock formations. At lunchtime, George was able to get a reservation at a local seafood restaurant which had a long line due to the holiday weekend. He arranged for us to skip the line. The restaurant served delicious Chinese seafood including some incredible crab and a window view. From there we travelled to the spectacular locations of Shifen waterfall and Shifen Village where we released a good luck lantern. Our final location was beautiful Jiufen Village. I can’t recommend this tour with George more highly if you have limited time in Taipei and want to see more than just the city.
We had a terrific day with our very friendly and knowlegable guide. Joanna Lin was great. She even provided us with umbrellas when it started to rain. Fortunately, most of the time we could enjoy good weather. The tour was all we expected an more. We especially enjoyed shopping in Jiufen and starting a sky lantern in Shimen. Joanna Lin made sure, we got perfect photos with all family members. Thank you for a wonderful and exciting day!
The trip was great and smooth sailing. The tour guide was nice and helpful. Ginger was able to communicate and guided the team well.
Excellent and Avery interesting geopark . The scenery is amazing and unique. We could have not asked for a better guide: Jimmy is simply THE BEST. His English command, demeanor and knowledge made the most memorable day for us. He spent 8+ hours providing us historical context of all the amazing places he took us to visit. Jifen, Shifen, Yeihu geo park, the amazing waterfalls, the very meaningful experience writing our wishes in the lantern and releasing it to the sky… It was a fantastic day! Thank you Jimmy!!
A great way to take in 3 sites outside of of Taipei in one day. Each site is a must see for tourists. Our guide Gary was great.
Anderson, our guide for the day, was very knowledgeable and a great tour guide. He provided a good mix of guided tour and free time for us to walk around at our own pace. I would take this day trip again and would be happy to have Anderson as our guide again.
A great tour all round - plenty of time for each of the sites and to soak in the food and culture. Our guide was Jerry 568 and he is funny and informative, sharing lots of information about the sites and about Taiwan's culture and history in general. Highly recommended!
I choose a small group tour with my friends. Three attractions we went are a way better than we expected. Guide Jerry 568 is excellent to show us all the main spots of attraction and shared Taiwan’s histories while he was driving to the next point.
Best day trip /tour we could have asked for. Our driver was informative, clear communicator, punctual and funny. He even took photos of us and had recommendations for food and other activities. Our favorite day of our trip so far.
The tour itself is a great way to explore Taiwan. It doesn’t take all of your energy since you’ll be able to rest inside the car. Yehliu was interesting because nature can really make unique things. It was nice to see different mushroom rocks all over the geo park. For Jiufen and Shifen, it’s always nice to learn more about history! The waterfall is a beautiful sight to see too. It’s like a mini Niagra Falls. Hank was our tour guide! He is knowledgeable on the topics he discussed with us and he made sure to introduce all the places we visited, and not only that, he also gave other facts about Taiwan. He also made sure that we’re all accounted for and he made sure that a senior citizen we were with was able to enter and exit the car properly. He is a caring tour guide and we would definitely recommend him.
Unlike our guide for the one day Taipei tour, Jerry was MUCH better. Very knowledgeable guide with tons of info. He knows the routes to avoid most tourists, and always the best spots for photos. Everything on the itinerary was a must see. If you’re going to release a lantern, don’t go for the first shop on the road, go further down as it’s less crowded and you have more room. We started our tour at noon so we can see the lanterns lit up in Juifen at night. However businesses are closed at 7:30 so don’t expect to eat here
Great day trip, highly recommend. Very affordable compared to other tours. Expect it to be like having a private driver instead of a tour guide, which was fine by us. Tommy spoke English, he was great!
We had a great experience although it rained. But Ms Irene is an excellent tour guide and she’s very pretty 😍 She even gave us a cute souvenir and recommended a resto in Jiufen 😍
We had a great day, even though it was raining. Our Tour guide was James and he was very friendly and attentive. We saw everything the description promised! Wonderful day, I recommend the tour!
The tour was great. The company is reliable and provides professional service. The car was very comfortable and new. Ken was great. He was nice and knowledgeable. I highly recommend the service, especially Ken
We availed of the day trip on Monday, Oct 28, 2024. Our Guide/ Driver Howard was fluent in English. There were only the 3 of us, so we fit comfortably in a clean Toyota Camry. The trip to our first stop took about 1 hour, but the ride was educational and fun because Howard was sharing facts about the places and Taiwan. He would recommend what to watch out for at every stop or the must-see things. He was also very reachable through text (WhatsApp) in case we wanted to spend more time at a particular place. But what we liked the most is that we felt safe during the trip. Definitely would recommend it to friends.
The tour guide was great! He was very attentive and full of fun facts. Going with a tour allowed us to see everything in one day. Otherwise this would be a multi day event.
We had a wonderful experience exploring the different areas outside of Taipei! Each stop is unique and special. Perfect day trip. Gary was also a wonderful guide. He went above and beyond taking many photos of us. He helped us a lot during our time in Taiwan. Make sure to ask for Gary!
We had a wonderful trip with Nina as our guide. She did a great job showing us the beauty of northeastern Taiwan. Thank you, Nina for your kindness and making this tour an unforgettable experience!
George was an awesome tour guide, and his English and Mandarin fluency were very appreciated, since one half of my group spoke English and the other half spoke Mandarin. We experienced a major, unforeseen downpour and George was very flexible in tailoring our day’s schedule so we could still make the best of the weather and our trip. He even brought us to a local market so we could pick up some dry clothes to change into. It was incredibly thoughtful. My parents, whom are very hard to please, had a wonderful time. They were born and raised in Taiwan, and still asked George to point out any new places and sights to see. They walked away feeling like they learned even more about their home country. I highly recommend this tour and hopefully you’ll be lucky to get the same guide that we did!
Louis our operator was very friendly, knowledgeable and a great tour guide. The experience was amazing having a private tour guide that worked on our timetable and also show us some unique things you wouldn’t get if you were on a group tour. The three distinct cities and unique experiences in all were a perfect day and great way to explore Taiwan. We really appreciate Louis and would definitely use him next time we are in Taiwan.
Our tour guide, Jerry was very good. He spoke English well, was on time, and we got to see everything on our list. It was a great experience.
Its my 3rd time visiting the North Coast but my first time booking a tour with Klook. Our guide Mark was really nice and the whole tour itself is awesome! Saves you time, effort and money.
Our tour guide Joanna was amazing, knowledgeable and very pleasant to be around. We had so much fun. The views were as amazing as advertised.
We were very disappointed by this tour. It is marketed as a tour with a licensed English speaking guide. In other reviews I see people saying they received a driver and a guide. We received one person to show us around, Lin. Lin was a great driver but was really nothing more than a driver. We didn’t receive any information that a true tour guide would have given, and Lin I do not believe would qualify as a licensed English speaking guide. He was trying his best and very kind but did not speak English well enough to be a guide. For example before leaving one of the stops we tried to tell him we wanted to get one of the food dishes before we left but he could not understand. He could answer very few of our questions and communication was difficult. We have done many tours all around the world and are very patient when trying to communicate with others with a language barrier, but when it comes down to it he should not be marketed as an English speaking guide, he should be marketed as strictly a driver. This was really not worth $415 for strictly a driver, I regret spending money on this and wish we rented a car on our own.
Awesome tour outside of the city. Felix our tour guide and Iris our driver were amazing. They knew all the best spots for photos, food, and made it easy to get around. They were so excited to share their country, traditions, and food with us. Felix was outstanding we joked and called him the mayor because he knew people everywhere we went. It led to a lot of free samples. The waterfall was beautiful and the lantern flight was a blast. I would recommend this trip to anyone that wants to get out and see the country side.
