The location was great, right above the ximending action but quiet, 2 mins walk to ximen train station, my 2nd time staying here, with 2 queen beds in a room for 3 of us, modern and clean rooms. Most ximending hotels are only 1 or 2 floors of a building but this hotel is the whole building. Service was amazing, especially the reception and concierge. Price is abit costly and breakfast can be better. Will return again.
The location of this hotel alone deserves 5 stars. It is located literally right at the entrance of Ximending shopping street and also right next to the subway station. The rooms are not big. Infact it is rather small for two people. Their isn't any wardrobe space or space to put and fully open your luggage. That being said, even though the room is small, it is still has all the basic hotel room items such as fridge and water boiler. The staffs are very courteous and always greeting and smiling whenever we leave and enter. If anything at all, we were quite puzzled with the request for late check out. The check out time was 11am and we requested for late check out. They said the latest they could give is 12pm with a charge, and 11.30am without any charge. So we then requested for all of our 3 rooms to be given a free late check out till 11.30am and then the front desk staff told us oh in this case you can only choose one room for late check out. Doesn't really make sense as if we had come individually, would they have randomly allocated 1/3 people to be given late check out? Unlikely right. So we were quite puzzled with that.
The location is absolutely amazing, right in the heart of Ximending! It’s so convenient for getting around, with the subway station just a stone’s throw away and plenty of places within easy walking distance. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and the hotel room was super clean and comfortable. Another great plus is that the hotel has coin-operated washing machines and dryers, which is super convenient, especially for longer stays. Overall, a great place to, a great place to stay if you want to be right in the middle of the action while still having a clean and comfortable hotel to come back to.
I have spent 2 nights with my 8 years old boy. The hotel offers us a room free upgrade. Staff crew is excellent in terms of services. They always give you a warm smile and offering help all the time. Location is excellent and room is super clean. Definitely will be coming back again for our next Taipei trip.
We had a wonderful stay at Westgate Hotel Ximen. The location is unbeatable – right in the heart of Ximending with everything within walking distance. Adidas Originals is just next door, with Pop Mart, Xin Fu Tang, ABC Mart, and the famous Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle (A Zong Mian Xian) nearby - plus the stalls that lined the streets spoiling you with many choices! H&M is directly opposite the hotel, Nike is across the street, and the iconic Red House (Hong Lou) is just a short walk away. The hotel also offers a convenient service where Ru Yi Sunny Hills biscuit orders can be delivered directly to the hotel counter for collection. What impressed us most was the exceptional service from the hotel staff. We encountered an issue with a Chia Te bakery order booked through Klook, which was mistakenly delivered to the wrong location. The staff were incredibly patient and helpful – they contacted the driver, followed up closely on the delivery, and even helped retrieve the package and bring it back to the hotel for us. Their dedication and willingness to go the extra mile made a stressful situation completely hassle-free 🙏🏼 A big thank you to the team for their outstanding hospitality. We highly recommend Westgate Hotel Ximen for its excellent location and truly exceptional customer service.
