Managers didn’t reply email before our trip, bed sheets were very dirty, and bug is found on bathtub(I have captured a video recording. Welcome to request the complete footage.) , this is not acceptable for a five star hotel. I rarely write reviews but this experience was bad enough to earn my first negative rating. Hotel Metropolitan might be doing well in Japan, it is hoped that the Taipei location can live up to the brand’s standards , or just close it for avoid diluting the brand’s value.

Spacious room. Huge breakfast buffet selection. Gym has cable machine for resistance and rower to vary cardio. The sauna was fantastic with wet and dry sauna rooms, hot and cold baths. Conveniently located to metro.
This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at and would compete with any five star hotel out on the market, but without the price. The rooms are stellar, and service is top notch. The restaurant has literally the best buffet I have ever enjoyed. Not an exaggeration. The one annoying element was having to book a time to use the pool. The hours make no sense. I also prefer a softer bed, but I find most hotels in Asia use firmer mattresses than Western hotels. The location in Taipei is centrally located. We could get to Taipei101, the Presidential Palace, and night markets with ease. I am running a conference here in the hotel and the logistics have been amazing and the rates were the best in the city.
Absolutely enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in 2 different rooms--the run of the house king, and Premier twin (with lounge access). All of the staff (porters, house cleaning, front desk, spa room, etc), especially the executive lounge concierge staff, was amazing and so helpful! From onset, we were truly treated with the utmost care and stellar hospitality (shout out to Khalan!). Loved the location--near a metro station, local restaurants. Pros--beds are comfortable (best sleep ever!), executive lounge offers light snacks throughout the day and is comfortable; excellent customer care; has a segregated spa area for men/women that has a steam room/sauna (fits about 3 people)/warm pool/cold plunge pool (FYI no clothing allowed in spa area); king run of the house has a separate sitting room with desk/couch/tv; loved that the walk in shower had a bench, and rooms are spacious. Cons--our twin room had hair in the bathtub and a red stain on the floor which was off putting; the swimming pool is a lap pool, therefore has to be reserved in advance (2 hour intervals); as a family we were on 2 separate floors, and elevator will only stop on your keyed floor, which prevented us from visiting each other--however, lobby staff was great in giving us additional keys to each other's rooms to rectify this. Overall, loved our stay here and definitely will be back!
Our stay at this hotel was excellent. We visited Taipei with a family of eight. We reserved multiple rooms and requested that everyone be on the same floor, which they were able to provide. The hotel put all of us on the 11th floor with a good view of the city and mountains in the background. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We highly enjoyed our stay here. Our rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel is located in a good location within walking distance of food, drinks or shopping. There's a bus stop across the street if you prefer public transportation. I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a place to stay in the area.
