We stayed four nights at the Landis. This hotel is top-notch. The service was impeccable. We loved the buffet breakfast. The quality of the food was excellent. The room was spacious very comfortable and immaculate. I truly appreciated the extra touches. Like bringing me a mini birthday cake and happy birthday card lovely touch thank you very much, Landis

I stayed here around 15 times (maybe more) except during the Covid restrictions 20 and 21. The restaurants are worth every penny if they are open. Tien Hsiang Lo is especially notable. It’s an incredibly good restaurant. It seems to be the policy that upgrades are never given - even if the higher room category is available. That’s poor service! It’s unimaginable that upgrades are being treated as costs rather than investments for keeping regular guests. Early check-in and late check-out (?) well, not easy. 🤣 especially with Taipei prices this shouldn’t be so difficult to offer. The regular rooms are renewed but I‘m missing the charm and the incredibly comfy beds. The old rooms (especially the suits and executive rooms) are extremely cosy and visibly charming, though a bit worn down - but that’s not a big problem. Honestly, I never slept better than here. I wished the new staff members would have the same service morale like the employees I met during my first years there. It made the stays very pleasant and they knew how to elevate the experience. Breakfast is ok too, the bakery in the lobby is really good. All in all - it is a very good hotel with a respectable history of famous guests. I wish the team all the best to keep up the good work of the previous manager and get rid of the minor hick ups.
Great 1940s-esque hotel. You are transported back to an era where people actually dress up and the room has the art deco feel, but more of an authentic feel unlike other hotels. Very similar to The Riviera hotel, in fact. Breakfast was very good with semi-buffet. Worth the price. The room was also ok with pineapple cakes waiting in the room. Only downfall is that the bathroom sink has no room for your stuff. Must place stuff around the bathtub instead. Not a dealbreaker but definitely an annoyance.
Lovely old world style hotel your grandparents would enjoy! That’s not a criticism though. Room was nice and spotless clean. House keeper was amazing. The area was a little too quiet for me. My only criticism is it’s not what I would consider 5 star. No room service, no dedicated bar and the main restaurant was closed for 2 nights I was there. Having said all that the staff are excellent and the place had an old world charm.
I stayed at this hotel from April 18 to April 19 and paid a deposit of NT$2,000 on April 18. However, the deposit has still not been refunded. I find it very disappointing and hard to believe that a 5-star hotel would handle a deposit issue like this. If I had not checked it myself, I wonder if the hotel would have ever followed up on it. I called the hotel to ask about the issue, but they simply told me to contact them by email and said they were busy. What is even more frustrating is that I could not easily find their email address online. The issue has still not been resolved. Based on this experience, I do not recommend this hotel.
