Very comfy. Hot spring temperature is more than enough. Everything is super clean and organized. Food is absolutely amazing. Service is great and professional. People are nice and polite. One thing to add though: I think it would be nice if the shuttle bus has more available time slots on early money and late night. Many people can arrive and leave early and late with many luggage.

Had a very relaxing and wonderful time. The service and introduction to our room was very attentive and friendly. Specially the staff member, Reiko, was kind and informative. Hot springs had good amenities, although I did hope to see more features like a waterfall. Food was delicious and I was stuffed at the end.
This hotel is pricey but every aspect is cared for. Having a tub for hot spring in each room is awesome! Besides the hotel itself, I want to highlight the excellent staff that care for this place. Everyone was extremely attentive, diligent, and kind. Our attending guide to our room during check-in, Reiko-san, was fantastic! She went far and beyond to accomdate us during our stay. Thank you!
We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Radium Kagaya Beitou, a property rich in history and charm. From the moment we arrived, the butler team welcomed us warmly and guided us up to the lobby for check-in, making the entire process feel seamless and personal. We were thoughtfully introduced to all the amenities, dining options, and even provided with yukatas to wear—such a lovely touch that made us feel as though we had been transported to Japan rather than staying in Taipei. The dining experience was a highlight of our stay. We opted for the plan that included both the breakfast buffet and kaiseki dinners, and we were very impressed. The menus did not repeat over the two nights, and the second evening’s meal was especially memorable. The shabu shabu served on both nights was absolutely delicious, and we really appreciated the variety of abalone dishes featured throughout the meals. There was also a good selection of alcohol to complement everything. We would also like to give special thanks to Miwako, who truly stood out among the already excellent staff. On our second night, she noticed our kids were feeling upset and thoughtfully brought over coloring puzzles and “magic markers” to cheer them up. Her kindness and attentiveness made a lasting impression on our family. The onsen experience, while enjoyable overall, could benefit from some improvements. One section of the bath area had a massage pool that appeared to be out of order, with stagnant water that detracted from the ambiance. Additionally, the water temperature on our first day felt quite high at 43.7°C, which may not be comfortable for all guests. Access to drinking water during bathing was slightly inconvenient, as it required walking across the changing area. Despite these minor issues, we truly enjoyed our stay. The hospitality, atmosphere, and dining were exceptional, and with a few upgrades to the bath facilities, this would easily be an outstanding experience.
Based on the very high ratings and positive reviews on Google, as well as the beautiful photos on the website, I decided to give this place a try. However after arrival, I felt quite disappointed. The hotel promotes itself as being managed and operated in a Japanese style. Naturally, I expected the meticulous management, cleanliness, and attention to detail that Japanese hospitality is well known for. Unfortunately, my experience was very different from what I had anticipated. Firstly, upon entering the hotel, there was no staff at the entrance to welcome or guide guests. I had to find the elevator and make my way to the second floor on my own, which was confusing and made me feel unsure as a guest. Secondly, when I arrived at the reception desk, the staff immediately pointed out that I was late for my reservation. I fully understand that being late is not ideal, and I take responsibility for that. However, we departed from Taipei 101 by taxi one and a half hours in advance. Due to extremely heavy traffic in Taipei, which was unexpected for us as visitors, we were delayed. Being addressed in this manner made me feel quite embarrassed. Thirdly, after entering the private hot spring room, I found the room to be old and the facilities very limited. Apart from two bottles of water, a hair dryer, and two towels, no other amenities were provided. The room felt rather basic. In my past experiences with mid- to high-end hot spring facilities, it is common to provide personal care items such as shower caps, hair ties, combs, and cotton swabs. Fourthly, the floor mat in the hot spring room was moldy, and there was a water leakage issue from the ventilation outlet. Water was dripping onto the chair where I placed my clothes, causing them to become wet. Fifthly, the shower continued to leak even after turning it off. When I was about to leave, I had to ask the staff for assistance to stop the water. I visit Taiwan frequently and make it a point to experience different hot spring facilities each time. This is the first time I have encountered a hot spring that claims to offer five-star service but delivers a standard closer to that of a two-star facility. I am writing this review openly and honestly, not out of dissatisfaction alone, but in the sincere hope that the hotel can improve its facilities and services. My intention is constructive, and I truly hope that Kaga-ya will take this feedback positively and make improvements for the benefit of future guests.
