Great Hot Spring Getaway with Outstanding Hospitality I recently stayed at Onsense Villa in Jiaoxi - Double Room with Mountain View, and had a really pleasant experience overall. I would highly recommend it for a short 1- to 2-night getaway if you are looking for a peaceful retreat. What I Loved The Location & Accessibility: It’s in a wonderfully quiet area surrounded by locals (definitely not a party spot, which I loved!). It's highly accessible—close to both the bus transfer station and the train station. The train schedule makes it super easy to explore other parts of Yilan. There is a Family Mart nearby, and since I visited on a weekday, grabbing an Uber was incredibly fast and convenient. Free Bicycle Rentals: The villa provides free bicycles for guests. It’s less than a 10-minute ride to nearby spots, or a pleasant 15-minute walk (even in the summer heat, it was very manageable!). In-Room Hot Spring: Having private access to the famous Jiaoxi hot spring water right inside the room was a massive highlight. Plus, the villa allows you to Uber Food and drinks straight to the property, which made relaxing even easier. Superb Staff & Cleanliness: The staff were incredibly polite, helpful, and hardworking. The room itself was very clean, and I really appreciated their concept of leaving our shoes downstairs to keep the villa pristine. Areas for Improvement First Impressions: When I first entered, the room felt like it hadn't been used in a little while. If a room has been vacant for a bit, I'd suggest a quick refresh before the guest arrives. Maintenance Needed: Given that the property opened about ten years ago, a few areas are showing their age. The showerhead was a bit rusty, which blocked some of the water flow and slightly took away from the clean vibe. The walls are also a bit thin—I could hear the staff talking downstairs in the morning. A little maintenance during the off-peak season would go a long way. Breakfast Variety: While I didn't expect a massive feast, having an alternative breakfast option would be a great touch for guests staying two nights or more so it doesn't get repetitive. Overall, it was a lovely, peaceful experience. The hard work of the staff and the private hot spring made it worth it. I would definitely recommend it for a maximum of one or two nights!

We had a lovely night at Onsense. The property is well cared for. The room was clean and simple. The bed was comfortable. The onsen tub in the room was perfect. The atmosphere of the entire place was very calm. I would highly recommend staying here. It was about 15 minutes walk to the center of town for dinner. Parking is very easy at the hotel, though the road to get there is quite narrow.
Beautiful walkway (though a bit bumpy for rolling suitcases) from the parking lot to a beautiful building 😍 We stayed at A501 which included the 5th and 6th floor on one end of the building, giving us views on 3 sides and balconies on both levels. The rooms lacked some attention to detail and the A/C was inconsistent in this hot July weather 😅 so I’m giving it a 3.5. It was really quiet at night, we didn’t hear neighbours or cars driving by 😌There are lots of common spaces throughout the building to hang out in as well~ overall a fun stay!
Rating: 3.5 stars My friend and I lived in room D401 on a weekday. The room itself was very large and comfortable. There is also free breakfast which was very delicious. (There are two dining times: 9 or 10 AM. I would recommend the 10 AM since it is less crowded). My main issue with the place is that the rooms do not block noise at all. Even though we were living on the fourth floor every stomp you can hear clearly and there was a loud party downstairs that was heard very clearly as well especially since the D section is right above the dining area.
The room at this particular hotel was truly exceptional. It was spacious and incredibly comfortable, with a large and inviting bed that was perfect for a good night's sleep. The in-room hot tub was a convenient and private luxury that added to the overall experience. The large TV in the room was a nice touch, and the view, while not breathtaking, was still decent. Overall, the room was a great place to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring the city. But the real standout feature of this hotel was the breakfast. Whether you're a fan of sweet or savory breakfast foods, you'll find something to enjoy at this hotel. The fresh fruit and pastries were particularly noteworthy, and the coffee was strong and perfectly brewed. Overall, the breakfast was a great way to start the day and fuel up for a day of sightseeing or business meetings. In conclusion, this hotel offers a truly exceptional experience, with comfortable and spacious rooms, convenient amenities like an in-room hot tub, and a fantastic breakfast to start the day off right. It's the perfect choice for travelers who want a comfortable and relaxing place to stay while they're on the road
