Interior of the hotel and the room was very nice. It was a nice experience to have western touch while staying in Taiwan. Hotel is a bit far from the main tourist attractions but it is in a very chic, quiet and beautiful area. Staff are very kind and helpful. Atmosphere of the bar was really nice, they also had really good cocktails and wine. Although western breakfast options are limited, breakfast has good variable of Chinese food. Pastries and Chinese food were very delicious. Some items change daily so you don’t have to eat the same things everyday. Room service was also excellent.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Mandarin Oriental, Taipei. The hotel is beautiful, elegant with the refined ambiance one would expect from Mandarin Oriental. What made our stay particularly special was the outstanding service of our Executive Butler, Ines Yu. Her attentiveness, genuine warmth and ability to anticipate our needs made everything effortless and personal. Having stayed at Mandarin Oriental properties and other leading luxury hotels around the world, we truly appreciated her exceptional level of service. She is a real credit to the hotel, and we are very grateful to her for making our stay so special. We hope to have the pleasure of seeing her again on a future visit. We also thoroughly enjoyed Bencotto Italian Restaurant, with its delicious food, attentive service and beautiful decor. A wonderful hotel where genuine hospitality truly makes the difference.
We treated ourselves to a meal in the Michelin starred restaurant within the hotel to celebrate our holiday to Taiwan. The service was outstanding as was the restaurant atmosphere and presentation of the food. We walked around the hotel after the meal and every corner oozes class and sophistication. We treated ourselves to a drink in the bar, which for a 5 star hotel I thought was very reasonable. It was a Saturday evening and there was a live DJ playing a great set of tracks. The manager of the bar came over and introduced himself- which I thought was a lovely personal touch. We didn’t stay in the hotel so can’t comment on the bedrooms or other hotel facilities.
First of all, let’s talk about the swimming pool. It’s a slightly raised design, clad in blue tiles with gold and silver accents here and there, and it’s absolutely beautiful. It is completely cut off from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding area. As the view is limited to the historic hotel building and the decorations around the pool, it is a very relaxing spot. And then there was the staff’s thoughtfulness. I was deeply impressed by their attentive service—they regularly brought us towels and drinks, and even kept the changing rooms tidy when we weren’t looking. When it comes to breakfast, too, the staff are always attentive and kind, from showing you to your seat to taking your drink orders. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, ranging from local Taiwanese fare to Western-style options, and everything is prepared with great care. It put me in the best of moods right from the start of the day. The housekeeping staff are also extremely courteous. The sheets are changed regularly, and they even replace the bathrobes. Furthermore, I was deeply touched by their thoughtfulness—they tied up loose charging cables, placed bookmarks in any books I had, and left cleaning cloths for my reading glasses. The reception staff were also excellent, whether it was with check-in or arranging taxis.
I’ve stayed at this hotel three times so far, and it never disappoints. The breakfast is always delicious, and the dim sum from room service is absolutely outstanding. But what really stands out is the bed—it’s on another level. I had one of the rooms on the 16th floor with a beautiful view of Taipei 101, which made the stay even more memorable. Whenever I visit Taipei, this is the hotel I always want to come back to. Highly recommended for anyone looking for exceptional comfort, great food, and excellent service. ( amenities are Diptyque!!!!! )
