Went there with a family of nine and the place is split up into three castles. Each castle is basically a mix location for rooms, restaurants, or amenities. They are all walking distance from each other, around one minute walk time. It is a hotel for children and families so avoid it if you don't want to see kids all over the place. There is a large open air parking lot behind the hotel which is very useful for drivers, and it accommodates multiple tour busses. The rooms are basic four star rooms, so nothing fancy and it's not bad. There's a Family Mart diagonally across from them but I didn't get the chance to visit. To start, the only negative was that one of the rooms we had with carpet, smelled a bit like smelly socks at times. It could be the humidity or it could be old carpet, I have no clue. It's tolerable but not an ideal situation. Now the positives outweigh everything. I enjoyed the large pool area they had, and there were quite a few play areas for young toddlers. They have water filters all over the hotel where you can go to get water for your room or your water bottle. I think that's a very nice touch by the hotel. Another thing that stood out to me was almost every staff I walked by would greet me and the family, and they would open doors for us if they weren't busy helping someone. They are trained very well so kudos to management and parent company. The best thing about this hotel is there's an expensive buffet on premise, so prepay the breakfast for lower price. They actually label all the food with its name and allergens! My son has an egg allergy and I can safely find all the food he is capable of eating. You can imagine how tough it is to find food for a child with allergies. Both my wife and I were so shocked because even buffets in the U.S. would not have this thoughtful touch. I'm not sure if all the Lakeshore hotels have food allergens in mind, but the Hsinchu one is awesome for doing it, and I would definitely go back if given the chance. I highly recommend this hotel to families with young children.
Animal interaction class is incredible, my son enjoyed it so much with other kids.
Only come here if you are bringing your kids. This place is designed for families, and if you're a couple, you'll be disappointed. I've read a few negative comments about this place and I understand how they feel. This is a typical Taiwanese brand hotel, but this is heaven for children. Because of the affordable price, you'll have low class guest staying here. They smoke and throw their buds in front of the door. You'll see parents playing on their phone 100% of the time. Food is not that good, but there's nothing much to eat around the area unless you drive to buy food. The rooms are ok, just don't have high expectations. The facilities are great for my 3 year old. He loved it. Even there is a room for my 1 year old to crawl. Will I come back? Probably, but it won't be my top choice. Enjoy your stay.
