Excellent accommodation experience for my one week vacation stay in Taipei. The room was clean and morning breakfast was great!

The service was so rude and unprofessional. I was invited by NTU to give talks. They wanted to put me in some 5-star hotels, but I chose Just Sleep as it is next to NTU. regrettably this hotel is no longer the one I knew long ago. The staff were indifferent, impolite most of the time and sometimes pretty rude. I had to tell some of my guests that these were not typical behavior in Taiwan. The management seemed to be disconnected and broken as I could see many similar comments about staff with responses acknowledging to improve for many months ago but still the same. I don’t recommend anyone to stay in this hotel. It has zero amenity, don’t know why. It is pricy and you will not enjoy your stay.
This stay was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The reception experience set the tone, with the staff member, Jason, appearing unfriendly and unwelcoming throughout the check-in process. There was no warmth or effort to make guests feel comfortable, which is quite surprising for a hotel of this standard. The room itself felt dated and poorly maintained. The bathtub looked worn and almost as if it might crack, which made it quite uncomfortable to use. Basic services were also lacking. There was no turndown service, and even simple conveniences like automated curtains were missing, requiring us to manually draw them each time. To make matters worse, the towels had a strong bleach smell, which made them unpleasant to use. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, and it is not a place I would choose to return to.
The walls at this hotel are paper thin. 6am the alarm clock of the room next to me started to ring and continued for 20mins until they finally got up, I heard every single ring so clearly as if it was my own alarm. The person on the other side had a really bad cough all through the night, he would walk to the sink after and wash his hands. I really didn’t want to hear any of this but had no choice, I’ll stay somewhere I can actually sleep next time. BTW compared to other 4-star hotels the facilities and rooms are just not up to par, stay somewhere else, there’s not much to see around this area either.
We love this hotel. It is simple but feels like home. The location is very good, close to everything, MRT station(3 minutes) , restaurants, grocery stores, - - -. The shui- yuan market cross the street is a plus, you can buy fruits and food there. Their breakfast has fewer selections than big hotels, but all the dishes were delicious. We have stayed in many 5* hotels around the world, but this hotel is one of our favorites. We highly recommend this hotel.
