Hyatt Place New Taipei City Xinzhuang

​My son and I had a wonderful stay! A special shout-out to the friendly lady with curly hair at the front desk for her warm welcome, and to the housekeeping team for keeping our room spotlessly clean. Proud to be part of the Hyatt family!

- appreciated the water cooler at the lift lobby, and the complimentary cold fruit infused water and coffee at the main lobby. - room was thoughtfully designed to maximise the space available. - staff was always friendly and happy to assist. thank you to Christine who checked me in, and her colleague who checked me out (sorry i did not catch your name!) - location was unfortunately not near any public transport (mrt was minimally 15 mins walk away), convenient store (~10 mins away) - breakfast was not included in the room rate which made it difficult for business travelers - self service laundry and microwave access had limited operating time. would suggest laundry to be available 24/7 (especially since its a paid service) and for the microwave to be at the main lobby, for easy maintenance or security overview

I am writing this review in the middle of my stay, which is likely to coincide with the anticipated impact of Typhoon Bavi. As a precaution, I asked whether the hotel was prepared for the typhoon- for example, whether any of its dining facilities would close if the local government were to issue a "no-work no-school" order. The front desk staff simply replied that he was not sure whether the hotel's restaurants would open because they are operated independently. Sadly, it was also apparent that the front desk staff neither knew the answer nor made any effort to find out for me. This is my third stay here over the past few years, and each visit has been for multiple days. My impression remains the same: some of the front-line staff are not particularly helpful and are often unable to provide adequate information in response to guests' questions, which suggests inconsistent and insufficient staff training. Another example occurred when we were away from the hotel and called to ask about the shuttle bus schedule and pick-up location. The staff had no idea and were unable to provide the information. Otherwise, the hotel itself is decent, with excellent, clean facilities such as a gym, a swimming pool, a water dispenser, and, in particular, self-service laundry machines. The room is well designed, albeit a little too minimalist. The location, while not exactly in the middle of nowhere, requires some form of transportation, with the nearest MRT station about a 15-minute walk away. That is why providing accurate shuttle bus information is especially important during the summer. Apart from a shopping mall, there are no nearby attractions, as the neighborhood is an industrial area. Another thing to note is that this hotel accommodates many tour groups, which may be an important consideration depending on your preferences.

Hyatt Place New Taipei City Xinzhuang is a pet-friendly hotel located in New Taipei, perfect for locals and tourists visiting New Taipei City. This hotel provides a variety of rooms according to every guest's needs, though I've taken the queen-size bed regular room during my stay. The room is decent sized, has large windows, and bright lighting. The bathroom is large, provides basic amenities (toothbrushes, hairdryer, soap), and has a spacious layout. One noteworthy issue in my room was a broken spinning chair, which the hotel does need to fix. Lastly, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Nevertheless, it's a great hotel if you're mainly visiting New Taipei. However, if you're more into travelling to Taipei City, I recommend searching for a different hotel.
