Hotel Royal Chiaohsi is an upmarket spa hotel in Jiaoxi. We stayed in a tatami room and it was very nice. The dinner and breakfast buffets are a great experience, was packed with people and lots of interesting and yummy food options. Has good options for Western kids too (fish and chips, crispy Taiwanese pork and other less exotic stuff). The pools are terrific, so much variety, if you are coming from overseas don’t forget to buy a swimming cap….which are essential etiquette in Taiwan. Hotel is not an easy walk to town, but Ubers are quick and inexpensive.

Terrible customer service and lack of professional accountability. We recently stayed in a Japanese-style Lanyang Plain Suite (3-guest room) with 2 adults and 1 infant. Since only two of us used the included meals, we inquired about compensation or alternative options for the unused third person's meal, considering we paid the full 3-guest room rate. To our absolute shock, the front desk staff not only refused any form of compensation or adjustment, but unprofessionally suggested that we "could just invite a friend over to eat." This is an absurd and dismissive response from a premier resort like Hotel Royal Chiaohsi. Charging for three guests while offering zero flexibility or basic hospitality solutions—coupled with such rude and unprofessional staff behavior—completely ruined our experience. We expected a much higher standard of service. Will not be returning.
Excellent experience. This is our second time staying with this hotel. Although the hotel is not new, but everything we experienced is perfect. The view, vibe and environment are wonderful. Won’t disappoint you! The staffs are superb, not just friendly, but also helpful and professional. The room is clean and well-designed with extra consideration that is very Japanese style. Care every details. The bed is comfortable while the whole room makes you no reason to leave…the food is good with a good variety of choices. The facilities are also superb, perfect for every ages. The hotel arranges a great variety of activities for visitors to enjoy. We like their followers very much! A true 5 stars hotel.
One of the best hotel experiences in Taipei. The hotel offers many recreational activities - with the pool table being a highlight. The breakfast and lunch are consistently good, with nice local cuisines offered. Also offers a nice onsen facility inside the room.
Great food, disappointment with everything else. It really is made for a great food experience. Buffet is fantastic, great view. But hospitality, kids activities, the room is all far below expectation. We arrived at lunch and requested early check-in with a baby. Rejected and very cold. We wanted at least a table to wait until 3pm, minimum surcharge 300NT. There's no compassion even when spending big money on the room. And the room is tiny. Absolutely tiny. Hot spring is ok but there's far better in Jiaoxi. Evergreen is 100x better. Kids play area is fine, small but fine if it opened earlier than 9am. It's just a huge disappointment for an experience we were looking forward to for a long time. We'll go back to Mu hotel and Evergreen over this one.
