Not clean at all. Too much fragrance in everything—the room, soap, everywhere—which caused too much allergy. Breakfast was not good. The room itself was old, mouldy and not clean, with old blankets, pillows and bed. Very disappointing.
2/5 – Far below my expectations of a 5-star hotel Having stayed at several five-star hotels, I was genuinely disappointed with my stay at Ambassador Hotel Hsinchu. While the rooms may be comfortable and the property offers the facilities expected of a luxury hotel, the overall guest experience fell well short of what I consider true five-star hospitality. The first disappointment was the arrival experience. Parking was inconvenient, and there was no smooth, welcoming process for guests arriving by car. In most five-star hotels I have visited, staff assist with unloading luggage and valet parking is either complimentary or readily available, making check-in effortless. Here, I felt like I was navigating a budget hotel rather than a luxury property. The hotel layout was another major frustration. Having to change elevators between floors just to reach the guest rooms was inconvenient and made moving luggage unnecessarily cumbersome. A luxury hotel should make getting to your room intuitive and hassle-free. I was also dissatisfied with the drinking water provided, which did not meet the standard I expect from a premium hotel. What surprised me most was that these inconveniences were part of the basic guest experience rather than isolated issues. Luxury is not just about having a spacious room or a nice lobby—it is about comfort, convenience, and attentive service from the moment you arrive until you leave. I understand that many guests have had positive experiences at this hotel, and it generally receives strong review scores online. However, my personal experience was quite different. I left wondering how this property maintains a five-star classification because it simply did not deliver the level of service and convenience I associate with that rating. Recent guest reviews also show that some other visitors have raised concerns about aspects such as parking, elevator arrangements, and service consistency, although many praise the cleanliness and breakfast. (Booking.com) Unfortunately, this was not the luxury experience I expected, and I would not choose to stay here again. Next time, I would rather book a hotel where five-star service begins the moment I drive up to the entrance.
A nice and modern hotel with great facilities. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. However, they only do room cleaning 3 times a week: “to protect the environment… sure..” a five star hotel shouldn’t have such claim in the policy. The staff are always very nice and friendly. Room cleaning is also great - - when it is done, they do a very good job. I would have stayed more only for the breakfast. The breakfast is the same meals day in, day out. If you are also veggie like me you are stuck with some badly done chickpeas in a curry every day, some ok Indian bread and there is a dish that they rotate. But not something last 2 weeks of my stay I was constantly skipping breakfast for this reason. Quality is also, just above acceptable. Not great and not the type where one could spend too long. Perhaps if the chef would cook more diverse dishes, and dishes in rotation so it doesn’t get boring, and have more veggie options - that would consider many to stay longer.
Ambassador Hotel is a popular place for TSMC bound international travelers. The hotel has its highs and lows. The high is an awesome high rise swimming pool and sauna. The low down is the food. Poorly made for a hotel of this positioning, the food is essentially the same eveh day with high salt, high oil, dried out buffet. The cooking counter is quite banal, with generally a poor selection for an Asian hotel. Rooms are comfortable and the laundry service is prompt.
