The bed was good, as was the bathroom. But that's where it ends. It looks all very nice but staff uninterested in helping, supposed to be quality hotel. So far its the worse hotel we gave stayed in during our 3 weeks in china. Those out in the villages had better attitude and service.Wifi was useless, had to use mobile data. Very noisy at night, passed midnight from guests and early morning, guests leaving hotel from 6am.Windows would not shut. We had workmen at our windows drilling from 9am. Asked staff for cold milk and butter at breakfast, you would have thought we asked for the moon. Would not recommend.
Staying in an ancient hotel is a great experience as it is so beautiful going through the courtyard. It is nearby the walking street all within reach. Just need to be careful not to get lost as it can be like a maze.
The best thing about this hotel is its central location, but getting there is not easy – you’ll have to drag your bags through an extremely crowded street, and don’t expect any help. When we checked in around 6 pm, our rooms were still not prepared, and the staff showed little concern.
What really surprised us was that smoking was permitted throughout the property, which felt very uncomfortable, especially as we were travelling with children. The breakfast had plenty of choice and was the only part of the stay we enjoyed.
The location is the main advantage of this hotel, right in the centre – but be prepared to carry your luggage through one of the busiest streets you’ll ever see, with nobody around to help. The staff were not helpful at all. We arrived at 6 pm, and our rooms were still not ready. Even worse, they didn’t seem to care.
Travelling with children, we were shocked to find that smoking was allowed everywhere in the hotel, including shared spaces. Breakfast offered a decent variety, and to be honest, it was probably the only positive point of our stay.
Brilliant location. Very nice and cosy room. Newly renovated. Breakfast was decent. Room rate was reasonable. Service was good. Place was clean and checking in and out was efficient. Thank you. Will come again.
