Tahiti Nui: Private Tour, East Coast Or West Coast (Half Day)

Not as advertised. We requested to see east side at booking. Driver showed us west side of island because he overbooked his time with another tour in the afternoon.

We had the most wonderful day with Philip, driving around the East Coast of Tahiti, in the luxurious comfort he provided. Along with his great humor, sweet nature and wealth of information, this was by far our favorite excursion. I would recommend him highly. Especially those 4/20.

This tour was boring and I would not recommend. It was just not very interesting. And he took us on a different tour than what we booked

We had a wonderful travel experience with Phillipe...it rained some but didnt ruin the experience. I would recommend this tour for everyone.

This review is of the second half day of our tour with Maxim I. This tour was of the southern island, Tahiti Iti. Max continued with his enlightenment Tahiti and Polynesia as we toured the southern island. We even learned a few Tahitian words. Max is very accommodating. We had a flight that evening, so we carried out luggage with us. Max saw to it that we got there on time. We drove all the way down the coast of the island to the site of the 2024 Surfing Olympics at Teahupoʻo reef pass. Max was deservedly proud of the fact that there were staged in Tahiti.

Thierry gave us a great 1/2 day tour of the East down to Tahiti Iti stopping at some classic local sites. Very friendly & informative.

Outstanding half day seeing West Coast. Nice variety of sites to visit, including beaches, gardens, waterfalls, and caves. Guide was extremely knowledgable about the history and the vegetation. Guide was very friendly and communicated well.

We cannot recommend this tour enough! It was a great way to see the island without renting a car. We did the four hour, east coast option. Philippe was a wonderful guide, he shared a lot of local insight coupled with humor. Our trip was private and just the four of us in a beautiful AC’d BMW. He picked us up at the hotel directly and was happy to drop us in the city center afterwards when we requested. He has a full day option that also includes a boat ride to see the surfer in the huge waves. We didn’t go this time around but definitely will next time!

Our tour guide and driver, Édouard, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and always had something interesting to tell us. He seemed like an expert on local plants, trees, and flowers as well as pearl production. It was a nice comfortable car with good A!C. He tailored the 1/2 day tour to our liking and was efficient every step of the way. I would recommend this tour and provider. One suggestion is to use name signs at the port for easy identification.

My husband, cousin, his wife and myself went on this tour together. The van was plenty big and super comfortable. Our guide took us to places that were beautiful and explained so many things we saw. He was fantastic. Would strongly recommend this tour.

Loved the one on one, we had with Phillippe. We enjoyed his enthusiasm for Tahiti, and highly recommend him.

Phillipe arrived in a timely manner. His vehicle was great for 4 people. He tailored our day based on what we wanted to see while also offering suggestions.

Was a great tour. We asked lots of questions and our guide could answer them all. He tried to help us find something we were looking for. We just ran out of time.

Our family of three took the half day tour of the West Coast. The vehicle and tour were excellent! Really appreciated the quick response regarding booking details from Phillipe as well as his restaurant recommendation! Yorum was a friendly and knowledgeable guide, and we greatly enjoyed our time with him.

We enjoyed the very leisurely drive around Tahiti with Yo-Yo our driver. If you go on a Monday, the golf course restaurant is short staffed with limited menu. There is no real time to swim or snorkel unless you let the driver know your wishes ahead of time. Then all activities are possible.

Don’t waste your money. I paid extra for a private tour and they had other people on the tour. The taxi driver was a great taxi driver and very personable but he was a terrible tour guide. No explanations or interesting facts about the different sights. I would not recommend.

Phillipe was a wonderful guide, he showed us so many things on the West side of Tahiti and was so friendly! I would highly recommend this trip

Phillip was excellent driver and guided of the tour! His BMW car is new, luxury and very comfortable! We enjoyed his company, his knowledge of the island and his experience 🙏

I ordered and paid for a luxury half day provate tour. End up with an old van with no AC and the window cannot be opened. Driver only drops you off at each spot with no explanation.. charge is way over and rediculas... for this type of product.

Owner Philippe was unavailable but contracted out our tour with Tevei, who was a nice person but hardly more than a driver. He dropped us off at sight locations and collected us after we walked around on our own. His van was unfortunately set up with one deep rear seat and another high-backed seat that faced the rear. This blocked both the air conditioning (for which he substituted small fans) and made conversation with the driver almost impossible. We had questions about the sites, population, economy, etc. that were beyond Tevei’s ability to discuss. We got nice pictures of many places but paid nearly $500 USD just for 5 hours of being driven around with little more than light conversation. Sorry, but this tour didn’t live up to expectations.

Tour guide Philippe was awesome and knowledgeable. Loved the beautiful & clean Mercedes Benz sedan. Stopped by the new and modern Museum of Tahiti and the Islands ($10 entrance fee), multiple caves, and Water Park with a waterfall. We stopped by a store that sold Pareo cloths and souvenirs (cheaper prices than on other islands). He gave me a Pareo as a parting gift and taught me how to tie/wear it. It was a fun way to experience the island.

This tour delivered exactly what we were looking for. A relaxing but also very informative and entertainig ride in a comfortable car. Will recommend it anytime !!!

Wonderful tour of island. Phillippe was excellent. Tour included caves, gardens, museum, spectacular scenery.

Terrible experience! I want a refund! Was supposed to get an air conditioned behind the van showed up with no ac. Then they said they’d send another van and filled it with four additional people and we paid for a private tour with just the three of us! Said they had no other options. I called and said I wanted a refund! We had to pay another company just to tour the island on a bus with 40 others!

Did the tour on 2023/11/14. Driver guide was prompt on time. Very knowledgeable about the tour sites. The tour is memorable and highly recommended.

Philippe began by explaining the advantages of the East Coast tour and the advantages of the West Coast tour. We decided to switch our preference to the West Coast tour, which led us along the stunning coast w stops at black sand and white sand beaches, some w healthy coral right along the shore. All absolutely beautiful and beach parks and shorelines were immaculate. We also went to a large cave pool which is rich in huge tropical plants. Philippe was very responsive to any request. As a plus, his Mercedes is fabulous and spotless.

Philippe made it possible for us to see a momma and baby whale, which was rare for this time of year. He gave us an outstanding and special experience, and I would most definitely recommend this tour. His vehicle is exceptional, and the day felt very personalized. HIGHLY recommend.

The half day tour of the island was fantastic. Our driver Tevei was awesome - friendly and very informative. The van was new and clean and comfortable. The sights were amazing! We highly recommend this tour!!

This is a great way to relax and see the beautiful sites of Tahiti. It was raining so a perfect way to spend the day. Tevei was a wonderful driver/ guide and answered all of our questions. The tour didn’t seem to last long with frequent stops at various locations to take pics and experience the natural beauty the island holds.
