Excursion To Tetiaroa By Catamaran Visit Lunch Snorkeling

An unbelievable experience, the sea can be very rough so you should take medicine in advance if you are prone to sea sickness, but the destination was absolutely worth it.

BEWARE - CANCELLATION BY BOAT OPERATOR WITHOUT NOTICE - Booked trip for 2 from Tahiti to Tetiaroa for 8/20/26. Arrived at 5:20AM at 5:45 meeting point for 6:00AM departure. No one from PoeCharter showed up. With help of a French speaking passerby, we finally, after 4 tries, got someone to answer the phone. The canceled the cruise, alleging bad weather on a beautiful calm day, WITHOUT THE COURTESY TO CALL, TEXT, OR EMAIL. Called Viator, who promptly refunded cruise cost; but, since PoeCharter was not courteous enough to notify us, WE ARE OUT APPROXIMATELY $50 ROUNDTRIP CAB FARE FROM HOTEL AND RETURN; AND, HAD TO WAKE UP AT 3:45AM FOR NOTHING BUT AGGRAVATION/DISAPPOINTMENT.

Great day all around. Breakfast, lunch & afternoon snacks were all great. The boat was comfortable & didn't feel overcrowded despite there being over 40 people onnoard. Tetiaroa was beautiful & snorkeling after lunch was so much fun. We saw sharks, turtles & lots of fish.

We went to the meeting area right on time at 5:45am for the 6:00am departure and waited until 6:30am. There were a total of 7 people waiting, and finally, at around 6:30am the tour company's phone was answered. We were then informed that the tour was canceled ostensibly because of weather. However, the weather could not have been better. We think it was canceled because it was a holiday. Unfortunately, no advance warning was given. Not happy!

Did not get to go on tour, the provider cancelled less than 30 min before the 5:45 AM start time. They were not able to get ahold of our hotel and so did not inform us. We spent $50 to cab to and from the marina and about an hour running all over the marina trying to find them. They never showed but knew we did not know it was cancelled. I also emailed them plus used expensive data to try and call them that morning and never even got a reply. Incredibly unprofessional with the late cancel and leaving us abandoned. The next day they also cancelled even though there was beautiful weather. Avoid or be warned of very last minute Cancels and terrible customer service or communication,

We enjoyed the day from beginning to end. Fresh fruits for breakfast and snack, delicious lunch prepared on boat, time to lounge at a paradise island. Oh! And the delicious and powerful punch! But the best was the crew and captain! Lots of great energy. We even connected with other travelers.

This is a long tour, with 3 hours in open ocean each way. It can be rather bumpy as I heard, although we were blessed by calm seas. We would have ideally liked more time on the island relative to the transfer time, but that was inevitable for a day tour of that distance and that situation was clear in advance from the tour info. The crew has provided excellent service onboard, the lunch was good given the setting. The snorkeling was among our best in FP. A bit better direction/information for the time on land (Bird island) would help.

A Perfect Day on the Water -5 Stars All the Way. From the moment I stepped aboard, the crews made me feel welcome, safe and completely relaxed. The crews went above and beyond for all passengers.The Catamaran was spotless and spacious with breathtaking view around every aspect. You have to try the the raw fish & roasted tuna with - it’s was delicious and my first too. Thank you also to Jean-Adrien for making happen and excellent communication and greeting beforehand - you all Rock 😊

Tetiaroa is as close to a pristine wilderness as exists still in the world anywhere. A great deal of loving effort and care has gone into keeping this place that way and it is entirely worth the long boat ride to get there. I can only speak about my crew, but Valentin & Kawa’a (I hope I spelled their names correctly) were terrific. I was the lone English-speaking guest on my boat and even tho Valentin as captain didn’t speak enough English to guide me along, Kawa’a did and she was attentive without being overbearing. In all ways, the perfect hosts for this execursion. And they can cook! The food was excellent This whole adventure is worth the trip just for the dinghy ride over the reef and into the lagoon. Better than the best amusement park ride I’ve ever been on

Friendly host. Great food and snacks. Expected more time to snorkel and see different snorkeling locations. Boat was okay but felt a bit crowded.

they made me pay 190 USD and afterwards informed me that there was no space available. I am still waiting for my refund up to date.

Amazing though strenuous adventure This cruise begins early with a meet up time at the Pape’ete marina na of 5:45 a.m. A little more than an hour and a half, all set got of land is gone and I was in open ocean for the first time in years. Tiny bits of green appear on the horizon. Such a thrill not only to moor shore but to go ashore and hike to a bird sanctuary islet. A very special place and worth the time. Delicious continental breakfast and full love nah plus snack. Experienced crew. Glad I went.

Really excellent excursion! The departure point was easy to find, the boat was really nice, and the crew was kind. The food served on board was delicious!! The island itself was beautiful and it was really nice to have some free time to walk around, explore, and swim. Be advised that the boat does get pretty wet because the waves are big (also important to know if you get sea sick)

My family (two parents, two older teens) had the most incredible adventure of a lifetime with Poe Charter. We rented a staffed catamaran for 7 days for an adventure to Makatea and Tetiaroa. First of all, the experience was amazing. Both islands are truly once in a lifetime cherished memories. 3/4 of us did get seasick but I don't think that can be prevented if it is going to happen, and it was absolutely 1000% worth the journey. Our skipper Tiheti and our hostess Diane were so kind, so willing to help, so attentive to our experience that I can't fully explain how much we appreciated them. If we said that we wanted to go onto the island, Tiheti had the dingy ready before we knew what was happening! We let Diane know (in advance) that our tradition was appetizers on New Year's Eve, and she put together the most wonderful spread of charcuterie, dips, cheeses, etc for us. It was an experience that was above and beyond our expectations, and we will forever cherish our memories of this trip. Makatea was mind blowing and Tiheti and Diane were super helpful in arranging for an island guide for us, and the following day arranging an excursion with a climbing guide. Tetiaroa is definitely a beautiful experience too, and one worth spending a night or two to fully enjoy. I'm not used to never getting no for an answer, and this trip was exactly that, always a yes to anything we asked for. We all had the time of our lives thanks to the staff. Maururu Poe Charter!

an extraordinary day, a top-notch team and a magnificent catamaran we were on the Mokai Vaka. In short, a day that left a big impression on us, as much by the beauty of the landscapes as by the kindness of the team, everything was perfect. Breakfast and the lunch were incredible. Ia ora na ! 🌺 We spent a very beautiful day with POE CHARTER! The breakfast was perfect and the lunch was very good. The whole team was wonderful: we were very well welcomed, guided, and accompanied throughout this excursion, both on the way there and on the way back, despite a very rough sea. A big bravo to the captain and his team who handled the situation perfectly with professionalism and mastery. The passage between the ocean and the Tetiaroa lagoon was also a great experience, with a few small thrills, but nothing that took away from the pleasure of this discovery! It was a magnificent day, rich in discoveries and emotions, that we will not soon forget. We highly recommend POE CHARTER for this superb experience and the quality of its team. Mauruuru roa ! 🌴🌊

Paradise location, new boat, and excellent team.

Meh! Aside from this superb scenery, it must be pointed out that it is almost dangerous to cross the reef by zodiac and that the 1km walk on coral is not specified anywhere, so it is to be avoided with very young children and elderly people. Disinterested but friendly crew, but we ate well and there was everything we needed. Pleasant catamaran trip

This excursion was perfect. The staff on board the Mokai took great care of us from start to finish; thank you again, Poe charter, for introducing me to Tetiaroa in such a great atmosphere. I highly recommend this excursion with Poe charter.

Average performance. Nice crew but it is not a profession (lack of explanations, anecdotes, etc...) Simple meal on board but which could have been much superior (rice and raw/cooked fish; we have already seen better), not to mention the lukewarm fruits that were offered to us in the morning but not at lunch... The atoll is very beautiful but it’s as well elsewhere, see better (Maupiti, Tikehau, etc...) As for the bird island, whose myriad birds are superb, it is possible to go around but alone (without accompaniment or explanation). In short, disappointed with this benefit, which is not given, I advise against it.

Beautiful day trip to Tetiaora. We were welcomed and served by a charming, competent and helpful team, on a magnificent boat. it was an enchantment at all levels with bonus, an excellent buffet.

Extraordinary. Do not forget the diving shoes, sunscreen, cap. Essential. You really have to go around Bird Island. Walking in the lagoon.

I would like to express my gratitude to the ship's staff, who are extremely professional and attentive. We were greeted by staff at 5:45 a.m., with a scheduled departure at 6 a.m. An excellent breakfast and a quality lunch were served, including tasty fish of the day, Tahitian salad, rice, and fresh fruit. Before arriving in Papeete, a light snack was offered, consisting of a fruit salad and a homemade punch. The crossing went very well, no sick on board, despite a good swell. When we arrived on the motus, the show was simply enchanting, with bright turquoise water and stunning scenery (I come from New Caledonia) and it reminded us of Ouvéa (Loyalty Island). 6 hours round trip and five hours on site. We plan to do it again later, but staying at least two days, as it is too short to enjoy the site which is just magical. The little flat! It just lacked a little local vibe. Otherwise everything was perfect. To be done again.

GREAT excursion, from booking to realization everything was at the top. The contact person (for booking and weather cause postponement) was responsive and accommodating. The crew cared for all passengers (including the sick, even if there were few). The visit to the island is just great, the meal on the cata perfect, the snorkling outing discreetly framed so as to feel safe without feeling watched. I particularly appreciated the respect for the local environment (for example no food discards that would bait fish, it is up to us to adapt to their presence or absence). The fresh fruit at the end of the trip was perfect to end this superb day. Thanks to the crew of 25/11 who were at the top. Nana.

Weather null,zero cancellation the crew was entirely French freshly arrived ,knowing nothing and not very welcoming, disappointing. They did not speak an English word so 2 American couples left abandoned with zero explanation There were two boats of the company that day, and the other was much bigger and faster for the same price. We would have loved to be on that one, where the crew was Polynesian with smiles all the way to the sky, bursting with energy. We came across the wrong boat that made all the difference.

Great crew without exception!! TE HANI was able to take care of the passengers and share the history of the island and Polynesia in general. Jackson friendly and funny guide and finally the captain chef who regaled us. I would have liked redte longer on the site 🥰

The discovery of an island that seems almost deserted, the excursion is worth it but the journey is very long (3h30 for the round trip and 3h30 for the return), better to provide medication against seasickness (especially if the weather is a little rough), a sweater (for the return), diving mask and swimming shoes... The island is beautiful, heavenly, time spent is short. The meals served on the boat are correct. The captain and his second were pleasant and the hostess was attentive. The snorkeling offered behind the coral reef was very nice.

On the 6 hours of navigation 30 mins of animation....very short Very little info see not at all about fauna and flora ah so sorry we were shown a Bernard the hermit. On the beach Snorkelling equipment used without being cleaned. And put back in the box with the unused.!!! Morning lunch and snack was very good. But the day is very expensive for the service. A special rating for one of the skippers who stood out from the crew anyway. The rest of the crew quite distant from the guests

Liars!!! Be careful if you engage with this company NO REFUND POSSIBLE!!! Beware of the amounts paid!! After an outing made last year I wanted to book a new outing with my brother During the show and after discussion we booked an outing for April 17, 2025 by paying at the request of the person on site 100% of the contract. We specified that we would definitely leave the island the following week and could not shift this date “No problem” certifies us the boss And it assures us that even if it is indicated that no refund can be made The terms of the contract are in fact the same as for the usual contract. The trip was cancelled by the charter due to bad weather conditions. We then called to ask for the refund And the speech very different!! IMPOSSIBLE to refund any amount paid Car sale on the show!!! We are very disappointed with this lying attitude and despite our requests in view of the situation no agreement possible!! We just wanted to clarify to other candidates for outings with this company D be wary and not get caught up in verbal promises!! A superb sunny day ideal for this beautiful excursion to Tetiaroa! A very good boat, a crew of thunder and tasty meals! Good music, breathtaking scenery, friendly encounters, in short it was really good! Teens loved it and so did my 77-year-old mom!

Very nice excursion to do despite a staff who almost did not interact with the people on the boat! Including one who spent her time sunbathing and bathing instead of holding the group explaining that you should not walk on Bird Island!

On holiday in Polynesia at the beginning of September, we were two families of 4 and 3 who booked the trip to Tetiaroa with Poe Charter. As planned, we arrived at the pontoon at 5:30 but from there nothing went as planned. Reservation tickets paid for in November 2023, which we had for the trip did not pass, neither for us nor for our friends, but the skippers still made us get on the catamaran warning us that if we were more than 27 people on the boat it would be problematic. Indeed after boarding all the passengers we were in the end 33 people on the boat. One of the skippers then calls his employer to explain the situation. And we got a first explanation which is that a second boat was chartered for the trip but that the latter under repair had been cancelled and we received an email to inform us. Mail obviously not received by our friends or ourselves, because they had absolutely not sent an email. The skipper then gives us the phone so that we can talk live with the employer, and there a second explanation is given, namely that they have changed software and our reservations no longer appear. They're asking us to leave the boat without apology or any commercial gesture. It was our last day in Polynesia and he was very disappointed by their fault. They still paid us back (still happy).

Beautiful excursion that I highly recommend, because the beauty of polynesia passes through Tetiaora. We had made the excursion with Poe Charter, the crew is at the top, with little care with the passengers. Breakfast, lunch and snack was excellent and unlimited. Nothing to complain about on this excursion, not to be missed with Poe Charter.

The staff is very friendly, pleasant, attentive. Thank you very much to them 3. The day went as planned. And despite the rain on half the way back (and it was announced by the crew that there would be a risk in the afternoon), all passengers kept smiling and the crew on top. Thanks to you.

Hello in the morning the toilet was clogged breakfast cut into small pieces as for the children we had the mr that went fast with the small boat and I almost lost my glasses so he made us jumps the Guide did not wait for us during the ride which even to the birds then the guided tour for my pregnant daughter and me no attention if we hurt you not enough time on Island for as many boats 3h 30 go and 4h return meal was good but maybe wait for everyone to be present before putting the meal here is the return no entertainment offered the guides take a nap and taste with croissants in the morning just on arrival music and light to finish the day pity the next day at Papete Point of Sale a mr pearl had explained to us how it worked your activity and if we had known we would never have done it

8月份是旱季，但是因为风大还是顺延了两次，终于在离开前成行。去的是与白兰度酒店同属环焦的一个无人岛，并非白兰度酒店。双体船航行了约3.5小时，通过两人小艇接驳上岛，向导带领下，沿海滩步行约20分钟到达一片非常漂亮的沙滩，与鸟岛相连。这一片都是私人领地，只能在沙滩外围步行（鸟岛一周只能在水里走），不能进椰树林，不能带走任何岛上的东西。鸟岛外围插有木棍，不能超过木棍标示的范围，否则会被岛主罚款5000XPF。我们大概有1.5小时在这里活动，可以拍照，游泳，海中漫步等等，说实话风景确实漂亮，泄湖非常浅，呈现不同的蓝绿色，大岛一侧还有很多造型奇特的椰子树，特别适合拍照。中午12：00返回双体船，午餐，接下来大概有1小时的时间浮潜，可以看到很多鲨鱼，就像在Moorea见到的那种。 总结一下，来回7小时坐船比较辛苦，有晕船史的不建议。鸟岛周围及椰树海滩非常漂亮（有些马尔代夫的感觉），个人感觉比波拉波拉更漂亮，但是一定得是晴天，否则景色会大打折扣。船家服务非常热情，大多数是法国人，她会专门用英语给我讲一遍，非常赞。如果是为看风景我觉得值得推荐。
