• Pickup from your Sydney based accommodation • With your private tour guide, journey to an outer Sydney or Blue Mountains location where you are likely to see as many as 40 kangaroos. Your guide will explain some of the more interesting behaviours of the kangaroo. • Travel back to your pickup location or optionally another city, North Sydney or Parramatta location (from Parramatta you can take a boat ride along the Parramatta river - ferry tickets are not included). Native birds will often be seen (including sulphur crested cockatoos, kookaburras, rosellas, rainbow lorikeets, magpies, etc).
This was a private tour with a very knowledgeable guide who explained a lot about various wildlife. We saw dozens of kangaroos on multiple stops and even saw cockatiels and Kookaburra! I highly recommend this adventure with Bruce!
We had a great time watching wild kangaroos. Bruce knows a lot about kangaroos and other animals. The joeys were so cute when they popped their heads or legs out of their mums’ pouch.
Bruce surpassed our expectations! My Dad and I saw several groups of wild kangaroos during the tour, including some moms with joeys. The group sizes varied from being only the mother and joey with others in groups of 50 or more. Bruce is extremely knowledgeable about kangaroos. He was timely picking us up from our hotel in Sydney. It was wonderful watching kangaroos grazing and hopping around in the wild.

A major highlight of our time in Sydney! Although there are great zoos in Australia, my husband and I wanted to see animals in their natural habitat. The trip to the national park took about 90 minutes and was perfectly comfortable. Once there, we saw dozens of kangaroos including joeys. We were lucky to have the rare experiences of spotting a wallaby, witnessing a joey jump into its mother’s pouch, and seeing kangaroos mating — but this experience still would have been amazing even without seeing those rare sights! Bruce is super knowledgeable and taught us so much about kangaroos and their behavior. He’s also very friendly and was a pleasure to spend time with. If you’re hoping to see kangaroos outside of a zoo, definitely book this experience!
Short story: a better than anticipated, amazing life experience. Bruce is a knowledgeable, delightful tour guide just the perfect amount of friendly and accommodating, but clearly explained the boundaries and protocols for being around the wildlife. With a less skilled tour guide, the lengthy drive to and from downtown Sydney would have been possibly painful. Bruce has amazing stories and fantastic knowledge to prep us for what we were about to see as well as keeping us entertained on the ride back, when as out of country tourists, we were very tired. During the actual kangaroo sightings, he was patient and quietly explaining and pointing out details that we would definitely have overlooked. In summary, you are fortunate to have such a delightful customer facing employee in Bruce. We will be telling any and all of our friends who are heading this way to utilise you as a tour agency. Our Kangaroo expert Bruce picked us up at Hotel in Sydney, a well timed trip into the countryside near sunset to closely observe several large groups of kangaroos out on the open, a great experience not to be missed by anyone interested in Australian wildlife.
This was such a satisfying and fun tour in every way. We got to see lots of kangaroos much closer up than I ever imagined, including lots of joeys being their typical little amusing selves. It's so interesting to see how kangaroos use their strong tails, and so impressive to see the muscles on the males. I loved seeing them bounding across the road at one point. We learned a lot of surprising and strange things about them all, and it was wonderful to see them behaving in their natural way in the wild. Our guide Bruce was right on time and easy to talk with. I would definitely do another tour with him again next time we're in Sydney!

This was SUCH a great tour!! It was definitely a highlight during our stay in Australia. Bruce picked us up right on time at our hotel and taught us all sorts of things about kangaroos as we drove out of Sydney on our search for wild kangaroos. I was hoping we'd be lucky enough to see 2 or 3 kangaroos, but we must have spotted over 100 of them! Bruce was very knowledgable and friendly, walking with us and pointing out the Alpha males and females with their joeys until the day ended with a stunning sunset. Great experience seeing and getting close to the kangaroos Bruce possessed great knowledge of the animals in Australia and surrounding vegetation. Emotional intelligence of his passengers would provide for a better overall experience and the reason he was not rated a 5.
The driver was so knowledgeable and took us to see so many kangaroos! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone. He picked us up right at the front door of the hotel sand dropped us back there. Very convenient when you’re visiting a new place.

Such an awesome experience, better than we expected. Actually got to see dozens of kangaroos and learned so much about them. So nice to be picked up from our hotel, we were the only two on the tour. Definitely a must do while in Sydney.
It doesn’t require a lot of walking even though it’s called walking with the kangaroos. That was fine with me.
The tour was excellent. Bruce, the tour guide knew where the kangaroos were, so we saw at least 50 of them as close as we were allowed. Which, was maybe 40 feet.
Bruce is a knowledgeable and engaging guide and this experience was worthwhile. Seeing wildlife exhibit natural behaviors in a protected but not enclosed environment is a privilege. Kangaroos are incredibly unique creatures biologically and Bruce explained so much we did not know. Well worth the time and cost.

This walking tour was one of the main highlights of our trip to Australia. If you want to experience kangaroos in the wild, in their natural habitat, doing real kangaroo things, this is the tour to go on. We probably saw close to a hundred kangaroos total. We saw them doing some pretty amazing behaviours including joeys suckling from their mom, joeys climbing into the pouch, males boxing, and kangaroos flirting. You will not see those behaviours in a zoo. Bruce, our tour guide, was a wealth of knowledge regarding kangaroos and many other Australian animals. The national park was only about an hour drive from downtown Sydney. If we had more time, we would’ve also done the wombat and bat tour with Bruce.
We went out just before dark to a national park ~1 hour outside Sydney. Very enjoyable time walking among the wild kangaroos. Great experience to get out of the city.
Bruce has the best excursion I have ever been on in my life. I have been on at least 500. He is the nicest most knowledgeable caring travel operator I have ever been with. My daughter and I saw a truly amazing amount of kangaroos. Bruce pointed out so many bits of information about many of the kangaroos and there environment and where to see them. I can’t even believe the incredible experience we had I am truly thankful and am sure there will never be another excursion that could ever surpass or be as incredible as this. Huge check off my bucket list.
We couldn't imagine traveling to Australia and not having a kangaroo experience but we're not into supporting zoos. Bruce's private guided excursion was the perfect answer! He picked us up at our hotel and filled our heads with all things kangaroo for the 45 min drive to the western suburbs of Sydney. Our excursion was early evening to catch the kangas during peak grazing time but I also liked that the timing allowed us to pack more into our day! While I get that there are no guarantees, let me say that we hit the "Kanga jackpot" with Bruce, observing no fewer than 30-40 kangaroos in their natural settings! Bruce knew just where to find them! We viewed some from his car but also got out and got close enough for great photos and observation, including moms with joeys in pouches and large males! I highly recommend this excursion with Bruce!
What a great experience! Bruce was right on time and we went out to Cattai National Park and saw soooo many kangaroos! He's so knowledgeable and has a great personality.

We have done a lot of these animal encounters over the years in various places with unique wildlife. This experience was on par with what we have experienced previously. Bruce was knowledgeable, courteous, on time, and provided us the experience we were looking for.
I’m left standing speechless! We weren’t sure what to expect- and it turned into a once in a lifetime experience! From the moment we booked the private tour, Bruce kept in touch with us and provided clear details of our tour! The expectation is that we would go on a kangaroo scouting adventure! And Bruce fulfilled!!! We visited a beautiful rural park and for those who have visited the Smokies, we drove into a beautiful area similar to Cades cove (without all the tourists)! Our first encounter with a kangaroo took my breath away. I sat in the backseat with my window down and couldn’t believe it! There he was just staring at me! As we drove on, I thought, oh no- what if we don’t see anymore… Ha! Wow- did we ever see kangaroos! At one hilly field, we parked the car and started on foot to get a little closer (not too close of course- don’t worry). We saw big muscular male kangaroos & momma kangaroos with Joeys in their pouches! At one point, a Joey got curious and hopped in our direction, making his way closer - and then he hopped back to the group. We had kangaroos on the high hill hopping down our way to the large field and then kangaroos in the field hopping around playing and grazing! We booked the private tour knowing that it was just us and Bruce in his car! Bruce provided educational information about kangaroos and also pointed out beautiful Australian birds throughout the drive (cockatiels, colorful parrots and Kookaburra)! If you’re thinking of way to see kangaroos in Australia- this tour is definitely it! You won’t be disappointed- you’ll be walking away with such a warm feeling in your heart knowing you walked around the Australian parks with kangaroos in their natural habitat. Priceless!!! We are a group of 6 friends and had such a wonderful day with Bruce. Bruce was so helpfull in planning a great day for our group. We had a wonderful lunch at Icebergs while watching the surfers and then it was on to beautiful scenic outlooks. Of course we ended up the day watching wild kangaroos. What fun we had watching joeys nurse and jump in and out of their mother's pouch. We thought that was going to be the highlight until we saw the male teens practice their boxing moves. Bruce was such a delight and was so good at spotting the wildlife and telling us all about kangaroos. A must adventure for all ages.

Bruce was terrific! And resourceful. On the day of our experience, both National Parks were closed due to flooding. Bruce took us further out of Sydney to a remote neighborhood. Amazing. We saw at least 10 kangaroos and visited a few different spots. Bruce was a great conversationalist as well. Very knowledgeable about kangaroos and also extremely well travelled. It made for a fun few hours together. We had a great day and even got a few photos and videos of kangaroos running across a green space. Bruce brought binoculars for us to enjoy. It gave us a chance to get a closer look.
We (family of 6) did a fantastic tour and saw up to 60 wild kangaroos just a bit outside Sydney. Bruce did a great job in spotting then and the tour took approx 4 hours from our city hotel.

Bruce did an awesome job of keeping us entertained through conversation on the drive from our hotel to where we could find wild kangaroos. The national park he took us to had male, female, and joeys - we were able to see some out on open grassy areas and others in the brush/bush. Bruce also pointed out other wildlife that we would not see where we are from. Highly recommend you give this trip serious priority!
It was so exciting to see wild Kangaroos! We took some great pictures and it was such an experience to see them jumping across a field. And seeing a Joey nursing from his mother's pouch! Bruce gave us lots of information about kangaroos and Australia in general. It was a wonderful tour that I would recommend to everyone.
This tour might have been the highlight of our week-long trip to Australia. Our tour guide, Bruce Josephs, was engaging and well-versed on the subject of Kangaroos. He took us to a remote part of the Sydney metropolitan area where we saw hundreds of free-roaming Kangaroos. We didn't get too close to them (they are wild animals, after all) but we were able to take dozens of pictures and videos. It was a great time and I highly recommend this tour to any visitors!
Bruce the guide was awesome. We hoped to see kangaroos and we saw so many it far exceeded our expectations. Started with a spotless clean car that’s semi-battery so when we are close that the car engine doesn’t scare them. We went through a neighborhood where we saw kangaroos then to a national park and walked through a field and watched about 10-15 of them enjoying the vegetation from about 10 feet away. We saw amazing birds including the beautiful Rainbow laurakeets. When the tour was over Bruce was supposed to drop us at the Ferry - well he stopped there and checked it out first to be sure it was running which it was not and then took us to the train station. I’m sure another guide may have dropped us and drove off. The tour was supposed to be 3-1/2 hours, at 4 hours Bruce said if you guys have just a few more minutes we can take a drive to a park where I know the cockatoo hang out at night. They are amazing birds. Bruce was more interested in our tour and seeing the wildlife than he was the clock. He was awesome and I would recommend him and this tour to anyone.
A private tour for three; we didn’t know what to expect, but given the price, we were of course hoping to see a number of wild kangaroos. And we did, it was overwhelming to see so many and up close.
