Our group enjoyed our tour with Matt. Food variety was interesting, Matt was knowledgeable and friendly and showed us interesting parts of the Sydney CBD.

Our tour guides name was Matt and was a pleasure to be with. We were the only people on the tour and really enjoyed the food and the company. We learned about some history, and had really good food. I would recommend this tour as a first timer to sydney or just wanting to explore both the food and culture. Try the veggie mite, and the tim tam slam. There both delicious.
Oh my gosh this was amazing. Steve was our guide. He was so funny. I loved his jokes. He was very knowledgeable and very eager to share that knowledge. food was absolutely the best and very plentiful. We are still full three hours later of all of food. I don’t know what was my favorite was also original and tasty and just wonderful. I would definitely definitelyrecommend this tour and would even do it again. If I’m back in Australia, Steve was also helpful in giving us directions back to our hotel we were done and gave us little insights the different places along the way thanks Steve for a great day!
Great variety of food and great history.
Steve was a wonderful tour guide! Deeply informed on the history of Sydney and Australia, which he illustrated while introducing us to great local food and street art and architecture. He personalized the tour to match our interests and pace. Great way to start a trip to Sydney!
Steve was quite a bit of fun and had exceptional knowledge and gossip about the city. He delivered an easy tour with delicious food options, was able to adjust between casual and informative based on the audience. If you want to feel like you’re on a Tony Bourdain-esque food tour of Sydney, Steve can deliver.
Jake was a great host. Knowledgeable, friendly, and a pleasure to spend the time with. We had a small group, and that made it all the better. We had the opportunity to sample a variety of Sydney goods, and they were all worth trying. To that add a good walk and a history tour and you have the experience. Highly recommended
Very personable and knowledgeable guide, led our small group around a variety of eateries. Plenty to eat, just the right amount of historical background, and a good mix of street food, local produce and finer dining samples. The strawberry and watermelon cake was the highlight for me!
Matt was great, and the food was interesting.
Very enjoyable food tour and the history insights were a pleasant surprise. I would highly recommend.
The tour was great. More in part, due to our guide, Steve. He was very informative and entertaining. His historical knowledge established deeper context to the food history and associated changes in Australia’s development. Kept us engaged and interactive.
The Ultimate Aussie Food Tour was amazing. It was fun, informative, and delicious. Our guide, Matt, was wonderful. He brought us to some iconic and some unusual (but memorable) Sydney food locations, but also told us great stories at each stop and on the way to each place. Our bellies and our minds were full! I highly recommend this tour to try some foods you might not on your own and to learn a bit about the history of Australia. So much fun!!
Matt was very friendly and informative. Loved the history knowledge of Sydney. Matt even has ties to where we live. He made it a very personalized experience for us. Would recommend it to any foodies out there.
Justin was a great guide. Super flexible when he discovered we had already visited a location on the tour. Provided us with history, culture and other suggestions to further experience Sydney. Thanks for a great afternoon!
Steve was full of information and Dad jokes. It was a fun afternoon. Great communication throughout.
The food tour was so much fun! Eddie walked us throughout the downtown area and showed us a lot of the local "hot spots". We loved the different foods and learned about how they developed for the area. I would definitely recommend to visitors who want to experience the local cuisine as well as learn about some of the history of Sydney!
Jake was absolutely the best of the best. Very informative, answered all our questions, took into account dietary needs, and was a tremendous tour guide from start to finish!
This tour was truly a taste of Sydney/Australia, figuratively and literally. Jake did a great job of walking us around Sydney sharing history and important sites. It’s a lovely walk as you stop to try Aussie foods ranging from TimTams to kangaroo. Jake catered to our gluten-free needs as well with a wow new restaurant for beef and chicken pies and more. Jake gets to know you and makes the whole experience fun.
Jake was great, exciting and entertaining. He made our experience very personal and talked with us like we all knew eachother prior to our tour.
A fun way to experience Sydney food culture while getting to know a little about the City and its History.
This was an awesome tour! Steve shared his extensive knowledge of the history, culture and food of Sydney in a seamless manner. It was enjoyable as well as informative and even included a few groaner jokes. We all enjoyed the food and surprisingly even liked the Vegemite! We cannot recommend this tour highly enough.
Such a great tour ! Justin was an amazing guide. We learned so much about Australia, walked through the city, and ate delicious food. Highly recommend this tour!
This was a terrific walking tour with Bruce. Although food was a focus, it was a much more expansive tour of central Sydney than many food tours, with lots of information and anecdotes. One of us is a pescatarian who doesn't eat shellfish, and they were totally able to accomodate this. The food was interesting and - in many cases - delicious. We highly recommend this!
We did the tour twice during our month-long visit to Sydney. Once with family and once with friends. We really loved the tour both times. Both Justin and Steve were great tour guides, giving us insight into Sydney's history and food. We definitely recommend this tour. Plus it was a great walk through Sydney's Central Business District.
Probably the best food and walking tour I have been on! Steve was knowledgeable, personable, funny and really responsive to the groups' needs. We saw sights that others might have missed, and learned about the history and backstories of the areas we saw. The tastings were unique, ranging from flat white, to vegemite, to meat pies, to (probably the world's best) strawberry and watermelon cake, and ended with a hyper-locally sourced charcuterie board at the Opera House overlooking Sydney Harbour. The maximum size of 6 meant we could always see and hear Steve, and ask questions. Instructions for meeting were crystal clear and came with links to Google maps and a pic with arrows. Local Sauce has set the bar pretty high for any future food tours we go on.
Great tour very diverse selection of cuisine, Steve was very knowledgeable of local cuisine, culture, history and architecture.
Great day with Steve as our guide. Saw, tasted and learned about so much local things we would never have known on our own. Loved every minute.
Steve was a great guide! My wife and I had such a great time walking and experiencing so much of what Sydney had to offer. We made this tour our first experience after getting off the cruise ship and checking into our hotel. It proved to be an awesome way to very quickly be introduced to Sydney and what we could enjoy over the few days we would be there. Again, Steve was terrific!
My wife and I had a great food tour of Sydney with Justin. We had several stops for food unique to Sydney. In addition, we got to see a number of interesting sites and hear about Sydney history. The tour end at the Opera House where we had some nice snacks. We would highly recommend Justin and Local Sauce tours.
I had a great time in this tour. The variety of food with the history was great. I wanted to taste local and indigenous eats. We had both. Our guide also gave extra recommendations for the Sydney CBD. Take this tour!!
Justin did a great job engaging with the whole tour group. He pointed out points of interest, local artists and history.
We really enjoyed the three hour walking tour of Sydney with Justin. He was very knowledgeable and told us a lot about the first nations history as well as the history of Australia. We covered a lot of territory and ended at a nice brewery with a beer and a toast. We appreciate you getting links for places to eat and neighborhoods to visit since this was our first day and Sydney. We discovered a new town as well as quite a few other interesting places and also ate in Chinatown. The group was 12 which worked fine I wouldn’t want a bigger group than that . We would have done more tours with Justin but our schedule conflicted with other activities we already planned
We really like this tour. Andrew was a very nice guide and he made it very interesting all the way!! We definetely try another one. Thank you Andrew!
Andrew was a great guide! Really friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend for people wanting to get away from the typical Sydney CBD scenery, and explore more of suburban Sydney.
I had the privilege to do a secret pub crawl with local sauce tours. I had the best time with Kieran as he provided us with stories & insights of all the bars we went to l, what an Enthralling experience that was. The people I met were raging ones, I so look forward to another tour with local sauce tours. I had a fabulous time. Crawling back at ya when I visit Sydney. Cheers!!!!!!!
Absolutely fantastic tour with Andrew, who took us into the ins and outs of Aussie food culture! We loved the facts that the tour took place in 3 extraordinary quarters of Sydney which had a lot of historical and culinary experiences waiting for us. Walking distances are more than fine and you regularly stop for an interesting fact or delicious Aussie food. Guess we will drink our coffees from now on only through a TimTam :)
I went on the out with a friend and our host was Andrew. We went round Pyrmont and other areas. We learnt from Andrew that the areas were previously industrial ( wool and shipbuilding) and were quite rough. Today the area is pretty chic with some great old houses and converted warehouses. There are a lot of great local bars too. We finished our walk in a pub with a a beer and met the friendly cockatoo who was in charge :) Andrew was brilliant- knew the history and what goes on. My friend grew up in Sydney and was able to give some great perspectives as well.
We did this tour with Andrew who was great, very personable and knowledgeable of the area. He kept the tour engaging and informative the entire time. It was great to see and experience some of the lesser known parts of Sydney in such an interesting way. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a way to spend a beautiful morning in Australia.
Justin is very nice and you can tell he loves his job. I loved the streets we passed during our walk. The weather was very nice that day and everything was very comfortable. I also met good friends during the tour, which is a very worthwhile tour.
Justin has guided 2 groups of our personal guests. Everyone enjoyed seeing the famous sights of Sydney. Getting to enjoy a lovely dinner at the end as well was amazing. Highly recommend using local sauce tours for any of your upcoming tours.
Justin was great. Very knowledgeable and made the information interesting to listen to. Will definitely try one of his other tours offered next time I visit Sydney.
It was a great tour. Extremely knowledgeable guide who goes above and beyond any expectations. You get an extensive perspective of the history of Sydney and the personal interactions of a small group. Justin has the touring experience down to a T! Make sure you buy him a beer at the end! :)
Fantastic guide around a part of Sydney we would never have known about or visited. Andrew our guide was so interesting and fun Exceeded expectations Highly recommended
A fantastic tour! We’re locals that took it to learn the history behind our neighbourhood. Andrew, the guide was very knowledgeable, personable and funny! Our 9 month old baby enjoyed the day too. We will be checking out more local sauce tours
Excellent historical perspective of places that are a short walk from all the usual hit-list of city centre attractions. Justin is a very friendly and knowledgeable host.
Fabulous tour of a more off-the-beaten-track area of Sydney. Super interesting, and Andrew was a great guide. I plan on heading back to Glebe :) Great timing (Saturday) as the markets were on too.
Brilliant way to explore some of the lesser known areas of Sydney, especially if you are a solo traveller. The mix of people in the group was fantastic and really made you want to get to know your fellow people, Justin's passion for this part of town and the local businesses was catching and really inspiring. I learnt a lot about areas of Sydney I had not spent much time exploring, loved how we stopped at a local coffee shop I probably would not have looked at without Justin, absolutely adored the pub we finished at and the follow up with Justin's favourite eateries according to food type.
My wife and I had a great experience with Justin. He was knowledgeable, accommodating, and great to be around. She remarked that he is the type of person with whom you would feel very comfortable as a solo female traveler. During this tour, we saw neighborhoods in Sydney that we would have never visited otherwise. Seeing them was a highlight of our Sydney experience. We're glad we chose this tour and only wish our time in Sydney had allowed us to join Justin on one of his other ones. We highly recommend Local Sauce!
Intimate settings and charming host. Upbeat, informative, funny and friendly! Highly recommend. Don't miss the whiskey bar.
The guide was friendly and professional. He made a special effort to chat with all the participants and make everyone feel included. It was also a good way to meet new people- foreigners living in Sydney and tourists. The name of the tour is a bit misleading. I thought we were signing up for a food tour with at least a couple snacks but we only got a coffee and one small cookie halfway through and then a small glass of beer from a pitcher at the end. I wouldn't have been open to paying so much if I'd know.
