The tour to the Blue Mountains was fantastic. We had fantastic weather and a fantastic guide. Be prepared to do some walking and climb up and down steps, but your efforts will be rewarded with great views and waterfalls.

Itinerary
We begin early, leaving the beautiful city of Sydney behind as we head west. Around 40 minutes later we arrive at our first stop: Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park. This is the home to the largest collection of Australian native animals in the world, with over 2,000 animals on site. Featherdale is renowned for its close-up wildlife encounters. Here, you can hand-feed friendly Kangaroos, take a professional photo with a cute and loveable Koala, snap a selfie with the “happiest animal on earth” the Quokka and meet Wombats, Tasmanian Devils and more. You’ll also see the vibrant colours of Australia’s native birdlife, including Emus, Cassowaries, and laughing Kookaburras. For those excited to explore Australia’s wilder side, some of the country’s most famously “scary” creatures are also on display including Dingoes, Crocodiles, Snakes, and Spiders.
A highlight of the day is our visit to Wentworth Falls, one of the most impressive waterfalls in the region. The falls plunge nearly 300 metres in total, making them among the tallest in the Blue Mountains and a true standout of the tour. Wentworth Falls is famous for its undercliff walk, a sheltered and scenic trail that winds beneath massive sandstone overhangs along the Jamison Valley. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful walks in the Blue Mountains, offering dramatic perspectives and constantly changing views. On clear days, the lookouts provide sweeping panoramas stretching more than 50 kilometres across the valley. Bushwalking is a classic Australian experience, and there are several walking options here to suit different energy levels. Please note that the area does include stairs and as the saying goes, what goes down must come back up. But the effort is well worth it, especially with lunch waiting at our next stop.
We then visit Leura Village, widely regarded as the prettiest village in the Blue Mountains. Elegant, leafy, and full of character, Leura is known for its charming main street and relaxed mountain atmosphere. Enjoy free time to have lunch at one of the many cafés, patisseries, or tea rooms, browse boutique shops and bookstores, or simply wander and soak up the peaceful mountain surroundings.
The afternoon brings you to Echo Point, the Blue Mountains' most famous lookout. Bask in the golden light as it illuminates the Three Sisters and casts a mesmerizing blue haze across the valley.
Before returning to Sydney, stretch your legs at Cahill’s Lookout and Boars Head, two final breath-taking views over the megalong valley to cap off your day. Enjoy the flexibility to customize your stops and make this tour truly your own.
Led by passionate, knowledgeable and local guides who genuinely love what they do, you’ll travel in a comfortable luxury vehicle designed for a relaxed and enjoyable day. This tour delivers an unforgettable Blue Mountains experience from start to finish.

Steep uneven stairs at one attraction. The tour guide, Mark, was over the top. The views of the canyon were great.
Great experience in the Blue Mountains. Very nice hike. Small group. Wonderful informative guide. Well timed stops.
Misty hike, might suggest hiking boots, but definitely doable. Wonderful vistas. Mark was an awesome host and guide. Name that tune-Aussie style was so much fun.
Mark was our guide. It was a true small group tour in a very comfortable van that was very clean and had great visibility. I am a big guy (well over 6 foot and not skinny) so van space is important to me on tours. The tour was over 9 hours, but the time flew by. The bushwalk was a highlight especially accented by Mark’s knowledge of the flora and fauna. We really enjoyed the time at the wildlife sanctuary and would love to have spent more time there, but all in all our time was managed very well. Mark’s audio commentary was excellent in the van and the sound system performed nicely which tends to be a problem on many tours we go on. We learned a lot about Australia. The bushwalk registered 17 flights and some 10,000 steps on my Apple Watch. The views were breathtaking and well worth the hike. We had perfect weather in mid April. We were in Sydney on a cruise ship stop for the day. We had complications due to customs, but the communication and accommodation by the company were excellent in arranging our pick up and drop off. BTW. The lunch was great and we appreciated the recommendations and suggestions from Mark as to what was available. We have no negative feedback whatsoever for this experience and would wholeheartedly recommend you go with them.
Amazing guide. Mark made the trip. He modified the walking to fit my wife’s knee while also showing us everything and challenging the rest of us to get some amazing views. His knowledge was deep and varied to make the day informative and entertaining. We did Australian music trivia on the drive back which made the time fly by. Probably the best tour guide we have had in any country we have used Viator in.
This tour was the perfect mix of the Blue Mountains. Craig was a great guide and communication pretour was perfect. Pickup was on time. I enjoyed the Featherdale Wildlife park. We arrived before the big buses and I felt like we had plenty of time to see everything. The walk to Wentworth Falls was awesome. We were given a choice on the way back(one way was easier than the other). The weather was perfect while we were at Echo point.. and the views did not disappoint.
Outstanding day trip to blue mountains. We saw many animals, and interesting insects and flora and fauna and history of the area and Australia in general. The tour was enhanced by personal stories and experiences that our guide, Mark, added.
Sights were amazing, and seeing animals at wildlife park was fun. Lunch stop was charming. Mark our guide/driver was fantastic guiding us along the day and a fountainof information; he made it fun and was personable. Well managed time, we spent the perfect amount at each stop. Must do tour!
I chose this tour with Sydney Adventure Tours on the recommendation by my sister Ann who had come last year and also the reviews. Our guide Mark was fun to be with, knowledgeable, entertaining, observant and caring for our safety. Our group totalled 5 and we all got along well. Our stops were great, his recommendations for restaurants were really good and his timing at each spot was great. We were very lucky weather wise as we were supposed to have rain but it held off until the very end of the day. On the way back to Sidney Mark played us music composed, written and sung by Australian singers and musicians. A lot of fun to hear them and learning about the artists. Robert and I highly recommend this tour and ask for Mark!
Even thought we had a drizzly day, we were able to hike and visit all of the sights. Mark was our tour guide and he was excellent - very knowledgeable and very entertaining! It was a great day & I would highly recommend!
The tour exceeded my expectations and totally a “ must do” in Sydney. Stuart, our tour guide is so knowledgeable, accommodating and simply the best. Highly recommended
Mark made the day so much fun! He is very knowledgeable about all things Australia! We especially loved the guessing the Musical Australians!
Mark was an awesome guide, very interesting the venue was great ……………………………………………………………… ………………………..
Our Guide Ben, was right on time and was great. We seen everything we thought we would and were not rushed what so ever. Highly recommend this tour.
Ben was a good tour guide. He communicated well and considered the tour participants needs and limitations when he planned our hike in the Blue Mountains. The hike to a view of Wentworth Falls was worth every drop of sweat that pored out as we hiked back to the van. I highly recommend this trip and avoid the amusement park. Ben was gracious enough to report that we left a hat in the bus and promised to drop it off tomorrow.
A compact one-day trip to the Blue Mountains and Three Sisters, with Ben, including a lot of information about Australia's population, animals, and vegetation, is highly recommended.
This excursion was a great outdoor experience. Our guide, Mark, was just incredible. He was a wealth of information and stories at every stop along the way. He was extremely familiar with each location and made excellent choices and recommendations based on his level of expertise. We loved the Featherdale Wildlife Park. There were so many Australian animals out and about. The facility is well taken care of and it’s obvious that the animals are genuinely cared for. Although it was a cloudy day, we still loved our hike through the Blue Mountains. Mark gave us the best tour…loaded with facts and stories about exploring there as a youngster. Shout out to Karen and Mark, the other couple we met who also booked this tour. We had the best time and left with so many great memories! A small group tour is the way to go!
We absolutely loved our tour. Mark our tour guide was very knowledgeable and fun! Ask Mark about a can sandwich.
We had the best day exploring the blue mountains. Mark our guide was so amazing with so much local knowledge and kept us entertained throughout the trip. This was definitely one of the best days of our trip - would highly recommend!
The guide was very knowledgeable and eager to make trip successful for family of 9. The stops were very very crowded and he modified the trip to go to areas with fewer tourists.
Our guide Mark was very prompt and knowledgeable. He told us about all the vegetation, animals, flowers etc…… he kept the pace down to make it enjoyable and unhurried.
This tour is an absolute must- very professionally organised and the beauty of the Blue Mountains is certainly not to be missed! Our tour guide, Ben, was very knowledgable abd experienced and kept us informed and entertained throughout the trip!
Wonderful tour to the Blue Mountains with Mark our guide. He is very knowledgeable and kept it very interesting. We loved all the places he took us to. Highly recommend this tour.
My husband and I did the Blue mountain tour. The Mercedes Sprinter was comfortable and spacious. The Featherdale wildlife park was a special experience. All the animals are so close and accessible. Feeding and petting was a great bonus. The hike to the waterfall was lovely. Our guide, Mark was very knowledgeable. Like having a botanist teaching us about the trees, plants and his own personal experiences. I would highly recommend this tour. Everything from beginning to the end was memorable and fun.
Wonderful Day in the Blue Mountains with Mark We had a wonderful day today with our guide, Mark. He was an amazing guide with great communication skills and an exceptional personality. We traveled outside of Sydney into the beautiful Blue Mountains. Our first stop was Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park, where we saw extraordinary native wildlife—over 2,000 Australian animals, including more than 60 threatened species that the park works passionately to protect for the future. We hiked Wentworth Falls, which was absolutely breathtaking, enjoyed a delicious lunch at Hotel Alexandria Lueua, and visited the Three Sisters Lookout and more. It was an unforgettable experience, made even better by Mark’s knowledge, kindness, and enthusiasm. Highly recommend!
The only way to see Blue Mountains from Sydney! Our guide Stuart was so full of passion and information on the animals, geology and flora of the area, we learned so much. The small group size enabled us flexibility to access special viewpoints and less-busy spots for solitude. Featherdale is just perfect as well! Be careful with making plans for after back in the city, as our tour ran approx. 2 hours over expected end due to traffic and passion of the group! :)
Great trip great food great waterfalls and the 3 sisters in wonderful light. The guide was personable and helpful throughout
This trip was a wonderful experience! Ben was a great host; providing lots of information of the area and conscientious when taking our small group on hiking trails by Wentworth Falls.
Great, fun with our guide Mark, exploring the Blue Mountains and some of he wildlife that lives there. Our day started with an on time pickup at our hotel in a very nice sprinter van. Our small group turned out to be two couples. We felt spoiled with lots of personal attention. Mark was incredibly knowledgeable sharing information about Australia , Sydney and the Blue Mountain region. Mark was a wealth of information and answered our non stop questions with ease. It was very obvious that he loves Australia and his job. Our schedule was dialed in perfectly and we never felt rushed. Mark gave us clear direction throughout the day helping us get everything in as well as answer our questions,. During the drives to and from Sydney, Mark gave us the fundamentals about Australia and how things have developed . We highly recommend this tour and hope you get Mark as your guide.
Mark was just fantastic. So much great historical and cultural insight in addition to all we learned about the geography and wildlife. Was with my young adult son and we both had a blast. Mark was warm and funny and incredibly knowledgeable. He even DJ’ed some Aussie music on the ride back to Sydney. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Mark is a great Guide. We learned so much about Australia’s history. The weather wasn’t great but he made it a great day out - Thank you!
Ben was awesome as a guide! We learned so much and he gave us options as the day went along. Such a beautiful country and we felt like since we only had one day- this tour was the best to see as much as we could.
Mark was our guide and was fantastic. My wife and I plus two kids aged 14 and 9 had a great time on this tour. All of the hiking was well within the ability of our kids. We had great weather with dramatic clouds and sun light shining through making for some amazing photos of the Blue Mountains scenery. Definitely recommend this tour.
Great Tour with Mark! He's a perfect Guide for the Blue Mountains and an excellent storyteller. Thank you for that perfect day!
This day trip packed in many things to see, however time to rest again once in the van. Craig did a wonderful job informing us on plants, trees, history of beautiful Australia, a beautiful country he exudes proudness of. Definitely a nice way to see the country, great value for the money.
In spite of the early start, this was a fantastic trip! Because it was a small group, there was ample time at each stop. I loved Featherland. What a place! Such friendly and helpful staff. Being so close to the animals was very special. The visit to the mountains was spectacular and most enjoyable. Highly recommend the trip. Our guide, Mark, was superb - such knowledge and great character.
Mark is awesome. He is informative and fun. We had a wonderful time!!!! I highly recommend this trip, especially with Mark. Great experience.
Overall, the experience was great! Ben was very knowledgeable and took us to amazing places around the Blue Mountains. I really enjoyed learning about the different facts and pieces of history. It was a wonderful day!
Mark was an outstanding guide imparting his depth of knowledge of Sydney and the blue mountains national park. We rode with a total of 6 on our tour in a comfortable new Mercedes van. The pace of the tour was perfect and Mark made the experience a 5 star. Often we find tours are a make or break by how good your guide is. Request a tour from Mark and you won’t be disappointed.
Let me start by saying—this tour felt like the perfect storm of passion meeting precision. Our guide? A walking encyclopedia with the voice of a podcast host and the timing of a stand-up comedian. Seriously, if Morgan Freeman and David Attenborough had a charismatic cousin who moonlighted as a historian, this guy would be it. The tour was punctual (a rare miracle in the world of group travel), hit all the must-see spots, and unfolded like a well-rehearsed play—only with more scenic views and fewer intermissions. The guide’s historical tales were clever, immersive, and made even better by his smooth, buttery voice that could probably convince you the grass was invented in 1842. Now, the price? Let’s just say your wallet might flinch a little—but for what it’s worth, the van was fresh off the lot, spotless, and stocked with water (bonus points for hydration!). The main stops were jaw-dropping, Instagram-worthy, and genuinely memorable. Sadly, one highlight was partially closed due to rain damage. Heartbreaking, yes—but totally out of the tour’s control. To his credit, the guide handled the mood like a champ, keeping spirits high and jokes flowing. The animal refuge stop was *chef’s kiss*—a heartwarming, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Think adorable creatures, up-close feeding, and watching little kids light up like they’d just seen Santa. Pure magic. Now for the only hiccup—and I say this with love. The tour is clearly labeled as “adventurous” and “strenuous.” Yet, somehow, half our group was eligible for senior discounts *and* naps before noon. Lovely folks, don’t get me wrong—but when one gentleman looked like he was one uphill step away from joining the spirits of the forest, we knew we had a pacing issue. The guide might have considered splitting the group or offering an alternate route, because many of us were ready to explore beyond the geriatric stroll. So, here's the bottom line: If you love small group vibes, fantastic guides, clean comfy transport, and don’t mind rolling with a few unexpected punches (and pace adjustments), this tour’s a solid win. Just make sure your fellow adventurers are up for the same level of “adventure” you are. Thanks for the memories
We LOVED this tour! It was so interesting and beautiful! We got to experience so much in one day! The visit to the animal park was delightful and the koalas and other animals were a sight to see! We saw a crocodile, wombat, dingos and kangaroos! We ventured on to the blue mountains and enjoyed the commentary by our awesome tour guide Mark and the magnificent hike. Be sure to wear close-toed shoes! What a great day!
Our guide, Nigel, was entertaining and also gave us a lot of information about the areas we were traveling through. He kept our interest by telling us local sayings, phrases and history. Nigel took us to the picturesque areas of blue mountains as well as some off the beaten path stops.
We had a fantastic day with Ben, our driver and guide. He was very knowledgeable, engaging and all his recommendations were excellent. He provided water for the hiking, use of rain ponchos for the drizzly parts of the day and interesting fun facts throughout the days activities. At the wildlife park, you are able to feed the kangaroos (there is an albino kangaroo too) view koalas, penguins, Tasmanian devil, dingoes, variety of native birds, reptiles and wombats. Due to the small group, we were able to fit in extra sight seeing. What a wonderful way to spend the day…up in the Blue Mountains!
Mark was a very kind and knowledgable guide. Even with rainy weather and limited views, he made for a very fun experience! He taught us so much about both the nature surrounding us as well as the history of the country and sites we visited.
Great road trip to the Blue mountains! Mark was an exceptional guide. Very personable, great stories of his youth in the bush. Really fun way to get out of the city and stretch your legs. We had a wide variety of fitness levels on our trip. The final stretch of 250 stairs back up was tough for some of the older crew, but Mark paced it well and left them plenty of time for breaks.
We had a great small group of 6 travelers and a friendly guide. Loved the stops and glad we had started early due to Saturday Crowds. Was nice to be in a van with a good driver who knew all the stops/ pick up locations.
We were unlucky with the weather, but our tour guide went above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable and engaging. Despite the rain, we had a great time and learned so much. The group size was small as promised. Highly recommend!
Our tour guide. Mark, was amazing! He was a font of knowledge about the beautiful country of Australia! He showed us the highlights on our blue mountains tour and was able to easily adapt when we encountered trail closures and rainy weather. We learned so much about the flora and fauna of the area and had some incredible hiking experiences. The stop at the featherdale zoo was fantastic! We were able to pet and feed animals that we'd only read about in books before our visit. This small group tour was the best part of our trip to Sydney so far!
Everything was perfect from the pickup to visiting sites and really good guidance from Craig could not have done any better
