It was a great morning. Lily was on time and noticeable with her pink flag. She was entertaining, knowledgeable and very friendly with a gentle wit and with lots of Sydney and travelling experience. Her tour was very informative and interesting and guided us to venues with recommendations thrown in. As a result we visited her recommendations the following day. Including finding a great pub, the hero of Waterloo, in a quiet area behind the bridge, the museums and the cathedral.
I really enjoyed the Sydney history walking tour, including the Rocks area. The tour guide (Lily or Lidle) was excellent. This was one of the best tours I've taken. Her descriptions of the history of Sydney and Australia were interesting, informative, and delivered in an engaging way, with a little bit of humor added in. She was easy to understand and the pace of the tour was just right.
Our guide Lilly was wonderful and provided us with fascinating information about Sydney's historical background. A great way to see the city sights.
Lilly was excellent. Saw much of Sydney including the Rocks and botanic gardens. Informative and friendly.
I woke up violently ill so needed to cancel. I sent a note to the operator asking if we could go the following day as I was sick. Never heard back.
This was an excellent 2.5-hour tour that covered a ton of ground. Our guide, Lilly, was incredibly knowledgeable about the local history and did a fantastic job of engaging everyone in the conversation. Because we had a small group, the whole experience felt very personal. I learned so much about Sydney’s fascinating history and got to see some incredible sights along the way. Pro-Tip: I took this tour on my very last day in Sydney, but I highly recommend booking it for one of your first days here instead. It’s the perfect introduction for anyone who loves history and wants to get their bearings. Great tour!
Great tour. Lily was very knowledgeable. Great first tour to do when you arrive to get a great intro to the city!
Definitely a must. I did the tour on my last day in Sydney, I'd recommend to do it on the first. Mostly downhill, easy walk. Lilly is a great guide.
Lilly was an excellent guide, well informed and good communicator, pointing out non-traditional sites and weaving indigenous history with modern history.
We had interesting couple of hours. The tour was interesting and informative. The guide was very knowledgeable, pleasant , helpful answering all questions
Lilly was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable and pleasant Maybe walked a little fast but we all caught up There is definitely a lot of walking and ups and downs so if you have mobility challenges this is not for you , otherwise if you can walk for 2 hours with a bathroom break then you will be fine. I’m 69 years old and had no trouble A lot to see and a lot of history told We covered a lot of area and it was a great tour We went back to a couple places to explore more after the tour was over
I was the only person booked on the tour but Hugo kindly went ahead with the tour anyway and tailored it to me as I was the only person. We saw SO much, I don't know how we managed to fit it all in. Hugo was friendly, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I really enjoyed every moment of the tour and especially the learning about the history of Melbourne (and I liked hearing all about Ned Kelly) and Doing the Block and tasting food samples at the Queen Victoria Market. We finished off the tour with a photo at the 1970's Flinders Street Photo Booth. We got donuts from a famous donut stand that's been around over 70 years, had a drink in Young & Jacksons pub (with Chloe, if you know you know) We tried to get oysters from Muli Express en route but it wasn't open so I went back later that evening and they were incredible - thanks for the recommendation Hugo! Hugo also gave me recommendations for everything from food to things to do with my time after the tour which I really appreciated. A great overview of Melbourne and a very enjoyable tour - highly recommend!
The tour lasted roughly three hours and our guide Lily squeezed a lot of information in. The pace and commentary was relaxed and we learnt a great deal about Sydney. Lily was knowledgeable and passionate about the city and had a good sense of humour. The time flew by and we would definitely recommend this tour as an orientation upon arrival. Thank you!
LeeLee (spelling?) was great! Learned so much from her. And took one of her suggested walks after the tour. And had a fabulous lunch while in the Rocks.
Lilly was very informative. Great tour to give you the layout and history of major sites, so you can decide which ones to visit more thoroughly.
Amazing tour. Lilly was informative and lovely. So much information and very knowledgeable. My husband and I both really enjoyed this tour. Comfortable walking pace. Highly recommend this tour.

Tilly was excellent. Her depth of knowledge of old and new Sydney, and the way she conveyed that knowledge, gave me a host of new perspectives of my home city, Sydney. Many thanks Tilly
A great walk to learn about the history of Sydney. Lily was a great tour guide and explained everything very clearly.
Lili the tour guide was amazing. Knowledgeable and friendly with a sweet sense of humor. She made you want to come back and explore more of Sydney. If you can, ask for Lili. And wait for the “birds” 😀
Walking tour was excellent. Lots of great history and stories. Lilly was a wonderful guide
Great walk with lots of history and information. Would recommend headphones and a mic so all can hear easily as we walk around.
We had a great tour with Lily. An excellent history of the area and the architecture. She pointed out beautiful birds and gave us great ideas of places to go back to, like the Australian Museum. An all around great experience. Thank you, Lily!
A very informative walk around historical Sydney. Lilldy our guide was so very enthusiastic and passionate you couldn’t help but get drawn into her wealth of knowledge that she shared with us all. You simply must go on this walk!
Good tour and lots of information on a well paced walk around Sydney. At times our guide was a little hard to hear or understand and but she was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely a good value. I would recommend
Lily (Li Li) was a wealth of knowledge and passionate about the city of Sydney. The 2 1/2 hour walking tour was filled with history, local culture and knowledge. She showed us where the city was and where/ how it became Sydney today. Highly recommended for history lovers and if you don’t mind being on your feet for a long walk throughout the CBD, especially the Rocks.
Lily was a great guide, inviting questions of any kind. This is a great was to get introduced to the history and physical landscape of the Rocks/CBD area.
Our guide, Lilly, was great. She was very friendly, engaging & knowledgeable. She made our tour interesting with all her fun facts & personal stories.
Very informative & guide was very knowledgeable about the area. Great to help get oriented so good to do one first day of trip.
The guide was very informative. She stopped a lot to allow the slower walkers to catch up. She made sure we could all hear her and she pointed out things that a tourist would normally miss.
Really enjoyed the tour. Covered a lot of downtown Sydney. Our guide Lily was so interesting. Lots of history. Played a game while we walked that added to the fun.
Our guide, Lily, was very informative and gave us a lot of information regarding the city sites we visited. We are very glad we signed up for the tour.
Highlight of our trip. Highly recommend. My 2 kids really enjoyed it. They are 13 and 10. So much to see. Lots of variety. Our guide was amazing. So funny and an absolute delight! Cant say enough good things about it. Book it! Worth every penny.
The Guide was very approachable , a good communicator and knowledgeable. She was very aware of the differing levels of fitness of the group members and adjusted her pace accordingly. She welcomed questions and happily engaged in a pleasing conversational style. She made the tour informative with just the right pace. I am pleased to have been a group member and believe the tour to be good value for money .
Highly recommended walking tour! You will get a great overview of the history, architecture and buildings of sydney then decide which attractions to visit in detail in your own time. We got to see a different side of sydney and really enjoyed the tour.
Lilly, our guide, was very informative and passionate about Sydney history and culture. She especially liked talking about the plant life in the Sydney Botanical Garden. Lots of walking, often a little too fast for me, but overall OK.
English as a second language- bit hard to understand. I don’t want to hear guides opinions, telling me how great this or that is, what she thinks about this or that or what I must do. I’d really prefer a factual, knowledge based tour of city landmarks & in that I think we missed out on more to see.
Guide Lily very personable, made the historical and present day Sydney come to life.
I am giving this tour 5 stars because of the tour operator, Bakhtiyor, even though I didn’t go on this specific tour. Unfortunately, on the morning of the walking tour, past the cancellation deadline, one of us had knee pain and couldn’t walk. I messaged the tour operator in the Viator app. I asked if we could join the walking tour on a different day later in the week. He responded later that evening offering to put us on a bus tour a few days later. We went on the bus tour a few days later and he was funny and we enjoyed the tour. I would give him 5 stars for bus tour too.
We had a wonderful tour around Sydney with Lilly. She was very informative and considerate to all the guests requirements. Answered all questions and really wanted her guests to ask questions about the city and its history. We would certainly recommend the tour and definitely Lilly.
Lily was a very knowledgeable guide. We covered a lot of ground on this tour, passing by many highlights of Sydney. Would recommend this tour.
