Sydney Opera House Vip Experience: Guided Tour, Dinner & Drinks

The dinner was not worth the money. Service was a mess and the food was just ok. Very pricy

This tour of the Opera House went into more detail than I expected. If you are interested in architecture or how this building came to be this is the tour for you. Getting the chance to learn about the materials used, the decisions made in creation of the site and building and how the individual venues are utilized was awe inspiring. Dinner onsite afterward was yummy. I wish I would have attended the concert that evening to get the full experience.

Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, we were the only people on the tour so had a very personal experience.

We attended an evening at the Sydney Opera House for Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. We were guests of Viking Cruises & Emirates, Emirates are the Principal Partners. We received the VIP treatment, backstage tour, allowed on the Symphony stage, canapé, & drinks before & at intermission. Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony was conducted by Anja Bihlmaier. a wonderful experience.

The tour of the Opera House was, of course, amazing…so amazing in fact that I highly recommend you do a tour that is longer than 1 hour. As for the dinner at Midden, the view of the Bridge lights for Vivid Sydney was amazing. However, the menu choices were extremely limited. In addition, the outdoor overhead heaters were cranked up even though it was a very mild night. I asked to turn down the one over us, but they didn’t. I felt like I was literally being baked by the heat. It was dreadful.

This was a great experience. We had a small group, which made it even better. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, and we got to explore a lot of the opera house and learn about its construction and history. The dinner was fantastic, with a great view. I would recommend this tour.

Private behind the scenes tour in a small group setting . It was wonderful to be able to see the theatre and catch a glimpse of the practice! The dinner was delicious it was very memorable experience!

Jeannette led our group around and inside the Opera House’s prestigious structure. The sheer scale of this place’s construction and layout along with Jeannette’s commentary left a lasting impression. The food was okay, but the view of the Harbor Bridge from the restaurant at sunset really brought the tour to a satisfying conclusion.

Great tour, the tour person was excellent. The food at the restaurant was amazing. The staff at the restaurant was very friendly.

Tim, the tour guide was very knowledgeable & gave us a very thorough details of the Sydney Opera house. The hour went by quickly & he answered questions from the group very clearly. A great experience.

What an awesome experience! Jeannette was so knowledgeable and friendly! What a spirit of hospitality! The meal was delicious and unique! The kangaroo tenderloin was the best steak we have had while traveling!

Beautiful from the inside as well as outside. Covered the history of the opera house from the beginning. Food was also very good.

Opera House is a magnificent structure, well worthy of being a World Heritage Site! Our tour guide was fun and knowledgeable, but about 15 minutes late. Only saw the main opera/ballet theater and the lobby of the concert hall. Dinner at Bennelong was fair; wife did not like her steak, I had a pork dish that was great of. Drinks were well prepared, though the local port left a little to be desired. Decent value.

Nick (our guide) was excellent. Very knowledgeable and presented the information in a way that was easy to understand and memorable.

We were lucky enough to see an opera (TURANDOT) a few days ago at the Joan Sutherland Theatre. The performance was magnificent. But a cold draught blew over us throughout the whole show. The auditorium was freezing, the air conditioning was badly adjusted. It was very cold and lots of people were coughing. So go to the opera with a hat and a scarf, otherwise you’ll be ill a few days later...

If you are impressed by the Opera House on the outside, wait until you see the inside! This is an absolute engineering marvel. Michael was an excellent guide and gave us all the history and even technical knowledge about how the Opera House came to be, including the fact that they were still working on it as little as 3 years ago! The dinner at the end was lovely. We chose the Midden, the less expensive of the two options, but worth more than what we paid. The head chef is of aboriginal origin and his menu is inspired by his culture. Overall a very memorable experience!

Fantastic one hour tour of the OperaHouse! Our guide Peter was incredibly knowledgeable about the history, design and construction of this iconic building including acoustics, and provided detailed information about the performances. What a treat to have such an enthusiastic and accomplished guide. The included meal at the Midden restaurant featuring Indigenous inspired cuisine was amazing. This experience was the highlight of our trip!

This tour was excellent. We had a small group of only four people and a very knowledgeable tour guide. The food at the Midden restaurant was delicious. My husband wasn’t looking forward to this, but he admitted that he enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

It was just 9 of us. It was amazing to go inside the theaters and watch actual see and hear actual ongoing rehearsals.

It was a wonderful experience. We were able to listen to a rehearsal along with a thorough tour. The dinner was outstanding, although it is a limited menu.

Be prepared to be in awe! The structure of the Sydney Opera House and the the people who greet you and show you the beauty of the place are amazing! There are fabulous concert halls and magnificent steps — and lots of them!

The tour was fantastic along with the tour guide. We got to see many theatres and had a great description of what type of production’s that take place there. Also of the construction of the opera House .

I thought this was a wonderful overview of the Opera House. Our guide was knowledgeable and took us into as many venues as he could. Explained how the structure is built. Also told some very funny anecdotes. The restaurant was amazing. I was very surprised at the choices and the quality of the food.. I would highly highly recommend this tour.

I really enjoyed the Tour! The small group made it really easy to move about and get lots of information about the venue. Shout out to our guide for keeping things moving and interesting and for answering all of the questions.

We loved the visit and tour of this iconic building. Our tour guide was knowleable and it was so interesting to hear about how it was designed, building and paid for, all very fascinating. We were able to see the main hall - which was great. The meal afterwards at Midden was fabulous too.

We are happy it worked out for us to do a VIP Tour of the Sydney Opera House. Our guide was excellent.

This is a must do experience and better to take the private tour than the big group tours they offer. You may pay more, it it’s worth it. And dinner was nice. Just be prepared for all the stairs!

The opera house was one of our favorite things from a three week trip! This private tour and dinner with harbor views was so fun. Our guide was so informative and clearly loves the opera house and what he does. He was so friendly and also offered to take pics of us throughout the tour if we wanted. This was an awesome experience! Would highly recommend!

The Sydney Opera House is amazing and our guide was outstanding in telling the history of the building, as well as showing as much as we could cover in the limited amount of time for this tour. The dining experience was nice, but since it was a hot day, we were in the heat and sun for this, which made it less pleasurable.

Well informed tour. No behind the scenes, just simple tour where we popped into 2 theatres. Could not take pictures in either due to there being a set. However, it was informative the guide was pleasant. Food was good, not amazing.
