It was not as advertised. We expected commentary on the cruise and our ticket said so yet none was provided. Beautiful boat and great ride but was handed a map with numbers to follow as best i could which did not work. When i asked i was told you were supposed to get a QR code and that was it

Simple get on/get off boat ride around the main harbor areas. I was disappointed there was no advisory trip announcements about the areas visited on the ship (the ship had outside speakers that easily could have been used to make recorded simple comments from time to time as the tour trip transpired).
The Boat tour said it came with Commentary. There was none! My wife is Visually Impaired and we took this Tour specifically for the Commentary! I had to ask the server why no commentary? She told me I had to download it to my phone. I was never informed of this. After downloading the App. I was most disappointed that the Commentary was not synced to the scenery! Very disappointed!
Amazing. Fantastic cruising on CAPT. Cook Cruise. Created a lot of pictorials while on board sightseeing . Priceless experience to always remember. Will do it again someday.
Went on captain cook cruise today great food and service good night out
The ship was big enough and there was enough time.
Great way to see the sites from the water. Not too busy and easy to board. Just what you would expect
Absolute fantastic tour of everything from the harbour. Very relaxing and informative. The premium package which includes a drink and cheese plate is very good value and the perfect thing to enjoy while enjoying the view.
Viator app is poor wouldn’t deliver tickets through the app. Had to get tickets through the vendor at the wharf. Cruise was cut short due to late arrival
The commentary is through one’s phone so you need to download the app and have ear plugs - not ideal and inconvenient.
Food wasn't like the photos in the app. The ship is quite good, however no shade upstairs and little seating which is very disappointing and no commentary unless you use your phone.
Lovely trip around Sydney harbour. Well organised and good value for money. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend
Staff very unhelpful when boarding We had no idea where to sit nor did we and others realise that there were allocated seats according to how much one paid This is not made clear at all when booking . We felt very embarrassed and humiliated Staff were unhelpful indeed
Pretty poor experience. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Boat left late and returned early. Felt short-changed. Didn’t complete the route. No option to get a drink. Don’t waste your money on this - get the Manly ferry which is cheaper and does a better job.
Bought as a present for solo elderly mother and they took care of her: well done! Good experience from her raving about it. I might have to do it during a long weekend or when works not so busy.
NOT “Premium” Experience. Photos on company’s website & Instagram show large club seats on high floor. Instead we were given tiny, cramped table on lowest floor next to a filthy window. Definitively misleading and false advertising.
We did the daytime harbor cruise. It's like sitting in a boat with an app on the phone that can explain each location. Sometimes you don't even know which location you're at so you need to cross check with Google maps. No human interaction nor anything shown in the display inside the boat. I could've just taken the water taxi instead from point to point. Total waste of money. We were very bored. Maybe if we did night cruise with lights or dinner, that maybe better. But just the regular harbor cruise is boring
Fantastic, relaxing and I ended up doing this trip 3 times during my stay. It was a lovely way to see the harbour and sights
Cruise and ship are fine, but very disorganized. Told it was 90 minutes and it was nearly 150 minutes and had to take another boat back to Circular Quay.
Had no access to shelter. No prior knowledge so hardly sun prepared. No sun protection provided. Sat on the stairs to get shade and a seat.
The “only” way to experience Sydney Harbor is on a boat. These boats are well equipped with food & drink and narration of the history of the harbor, pointing out landmarks as you circle the harbor. While there are ferries that run around the harbor, take a guided cruise instead.
Great cruise around the harbor except if you sat inside you could not sit by a window unless you also purchased food. In addition ear buds should have been supplied to listen to the commentary on the app.
OK experience of the harbor. Opted for the “premium” package with a glass of wine and cheese board, which was average. Tour started 10-15 minutes late because the boat was back late and blocked by another of their vessels. But ended on time, which means we cut out 10-15 minutes of the harbor tour. The phone app (only way to hear about the sites) was glitchy, took forever to load, and they didn’t tell you about WiFi unless you ask. By the time we were able to set it up, we already were past the first few harbor points. Maybe worth the US$50/person price, and fair way to see the harbor in 90 minutes…
This cruise provided a good historical and cultural introduction to Sydney. The audio commentary was worthwhile. Many beautiful photo ops. The seating inside was very comfortable.
It was a great trip with great weather. We enjoyed views of Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, Fort Denison, Garden Island and the Harbour foreshore. The staff were friendly and concerned about safety and the facilities on board were first class. It was one of the highlights of my visit to Sydney.
Very nice way to spend the afternoon. Food/wine was very good. It was a relaxing and smooth cruise around the harbor.
What a relaxing way to view Sydney. The experience allowed us to see the Opera House from all views and we were able to get some spectacular pictures of many iconic landmarks. The tour was organized, the snacks were delicious, and we had a great time.
We went on this cruise for the Vivid Sydney event (light show/fireworks). Overall it was below average. No management of pushy tourists. Drinks were an absolute rip off! $20 for a crappy bourbon & coke. Don't bother bringing cash as they don't have change. Glad we didn't do the sit down dinner. Definitely don't recommend!
Shambolic queuing to get on board, cruise out to Taronga to view 10 minutes of fireworks, cruise back... that's it another overpriced Aussie tourist experience.... And the captain cook cruises ad shows opera house fireworks!
Smooth ride, stunning views of Sydney icons, and informative commentary, Captain Cook Cruise nails harbour sightseeing!
ABSOLUTELY RELAXING! Download the app to learn about the sites you pass. Nice lil charcuterie board with bread and crackers. The sparking wine and beer were nice. Great 1 1/2 hours!
Beautiful ship. Right in time! Only negative, those working on our level seemed very impersonal for the most part. Workers were scurrying around getting the cabin prepared for what looked like a large party clanking silverware and plates, etc.
Was a good trip, even though it rained a little. You need to connect with your phone to get the explanations right at the start, not like me.
It was a nice cruise around part of the harbour. We did the premium package and charcuterie tray was good and a nice afternoon snack. You had to link up to an app to hear any audio describing the tour. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Don't think I would do this again.
No information given during the entire trip about the harbour. A couple on the cruise gave us info though
Simple comfort, Relaxing style in a Deluxe fashion. Enjoyment in viewing Sydney on the water, open space, viewing fleeting sails as they go by and sipping a beverage while snacking on canapes.
Great location Walking distance to cruise terminal and all of Quay Circle. Comfortable rooms and toiletries provided. Just be aware you may have to navigate a half floor of stairs on the 6th and 3rd floor - it connects an addition to the old part of the hotel. Not handy if like us you have heavy luggage
Very enjoyable cruise with live narration. Considered other line but did not want to fool with trying to listen to scripted talk on my iphone.
The views from the Harbour were amazing. These are some of the best pictures I have from my trip to Sydney. The boat was on time and clean. The snack were great as well.
Unfortunately we had to use a qr code to have access to the commentary on our mobiles. It was difficult to know where the commentary was talking about, especially when there was a distance between the sights. The actual views were very good though.
If the weather is nice, eat quickly and go to top deck. Where the food is served is depressing compared to top open deck.
It was very enjoyable. Both fun and informative. I recommend it for everyone. The crew was very accommodating.
Beautiful scenery but they could go so much more to make it worthwhile. Commentary and a menu without a qr code. Who wants to look at their phone?
I thought I booked the same cruise I booked two years ago when I took a group of business colleagues on a tour of the harbor - a bunch of folks who had never been to Sydney before. That last time we went to all around on a much smaller boat to Barangaroo and to some little beach area and it stopped for like 30 minutes where there were lots of outdoor places to grab a drink and under the Sydney Harbor Bridge. This cruise was NOT THAT. I do NOT recommend this cruise. The boat went so slowly that there was no breeze. It did not go under the Sydney Harbor Bridge or the little beach. We basically did nothing. The boat two years ago gave had a commentary on what we were seeing. This one you had to have your ear buds with you - which they did not tell you - and do it on your own on your phone. There were very limited chairs on the top deck.
The cruise arrived 15 minutes late. We we hearded aboard to the top deck. There wasn't a live talk and there was no explanation that you needed to download an app to get sight information. The app worked only fairly well. The cruise ended a little early so it was not the 1.5 hours that was booked. I would recommend a harbor cruise as the sights are worth seeing, just not with the company I booked with.
Nice way to see harbor. There is no guidance other from app you need to download. Best to download app for commentary ahead of time.
Basically a restaurant on a boat. No information was given about the sites. Since we were not having high tea we were sat away from the windows.
Relaxed, and great viewing points for The Opera House and the Harbour bridge. On Time and well managed.
One star is far too generous. I wish there were an option to give zero stars. As Asian passengers, we were treated with blatant disrespect. The staff’s attitude was far beyond rude—they made us feel as though we were inferior or unwelcome, as if we didn’t deserve basic respect. There was no information provided on their website or during booking about seating restrictions. We were told we could only sit either upstairs outside or in the middle inside. This lack of transparency caused unnecessary inconvenience and frustration, further tarnishing the experience. They asked me to 'PAY EXTRA' upfront even though we did not even sit next to the window. I hope no one else has to endure such an awful experience. Think twice before booking with this.
If zero were an option, that is what this company earned. Spend your hard earned money ANYWHERE but here. The staff were unhelpful, dismissive and un-informative.
