Booked this trip tour through the hotel concierge. Picked up at 6:50 am to make the most of a full day of adventure. Sean was our driver/guide and did an exceptional job with loads of local knowledge and experience. The company and staff live in the Blue Mountain area and have first hand real life experience of all that goes on. First stop, kangaroos in the wild, which isn't a given but we manged to see a few bouncing about, which was brilliant. Breakfast on the barbie at Glenbrook and then the 3 sisters at Echo point which was misty on arrival but Sean said give it 10 minutes to clear which it did!! Up next the Tram, vehicular and train rides with visitor centre. A few stops of more amazing valleys (showing some of the destruction of the fires) before an enjoyable lunch at a local hotel. Then the excellent Featherdale animal reserve is next were you will get a photo taken with a koala bear and view a multitude of animals and birds native to Australia. Ypu also get to feed and pet Kangaroos, wow. You end your day with a ferry boat ride back to Circular Quay with views of the Sydney Harbour bridge and the Opera House and arrive back at around 6.15 pm. Wow, what a totally amazing day with everything included in the price which is unbelievable value for what you receive! So much packed into a totally fantastic day! Thank you Blue Mountain Tours for the trip of a life time!!

Booked this tour on the advice of the hotel concierge. Picked up at 6:40 am for a day full of adventure. Sean was our driver/guide and did an exceptional job. Let me just point out that the owner, Graham, and staff live in the Blue Mountain area and are very knowledgeable and excited about the area. First stop, kangaroos in the wild. Breakfast on the barbie next and then the 3 sisters. Tram, vehicular and train rides are up next then off for an excellent lunch. Featherdale animal reserve is next were you will get a photo taken with a koala bear and view animals and birds native to Australia. You end your day with a ferry boat ride back to Circular Quay and arrive back at around 6pm. Wow, what a great day and everything is included in the price! Sean, thanks for a fantastic day!
Overall, the day trip was fantastic. Sean, our guide and bus driver, was excellent in outlining what we would see and do for the day and giving us a great history of the area including the recent wild fires. The weather was perfect and we saw some amazing scenery. Sean managed to get us to each overlook and attraction before the huge herd of tour buses arrived and often we felt there were little crowds and we had plenty of time to wander around. All the attractions were included and gave you a really good one day overview of the Blue Mountains. Lunch was excellent at the Ivanhoe Hotel. The ferry ride back to Circular Quay was a great way to end the day instead of battling traffic all the way back to the downtown area of Sydney. I would definitely give it 5 starts EXCEPT for a few issues: 1. Their website says “breakfast in the bush with kangaroos”. It should have said “drive around in a rural area for a while in hopes of spotting a kangaroo or two and then drive to breakfast at a local park and playground for middle school children” (who came out for recess while we were there). Breakfast was just “okay” (instant coffee and not many places to sit down) 2. We were unfortunate enough to have to sit in the last row of the bus where the seats were lower and more uncomfortable than all others and difficult to get out of.
What a fantastic day! We were picked up at 6:45am and didn't get back to the hotel until nearly 12 hours later. Every minute was filled with new experiences and laughter. Our driver, Hayden, took us on my first "Walk about", and we were lucky enough to see kangaroos in the wild. Next was a scrumptious breakfast provided by Graham and Alex at park where wild cockatoos flew all around us. Back on the bus and onto the gondola to view the Blue Mountains and Three Sisters. We then hopped on a cableway, where Hayden, with his wealth of knowledge and story-telling led us on a Blue Mountain hike, and onto the vertical train ride. We lucked out with spectacular views and weather. From the Blue Mountains we drove to the little town nearby where a delicious lunch was provided. No dilly-dallying because our next stop would be Featherdale Wildlife Park where animals roamed all around us. Checking off one for the bucket list, was the chance to actually touch a koala bear and have pictures taken with them. We also hand fed kangaroos and were able to pet them as well. Our last stop was the ferry boat ride back to a drop off by our hotel. This day was well worth the money and you couldn't have picked better hosts then the three named above. Definitely a five star day!
We came from California and our Concierge recommended this tour. We had a GREAT time. The bus picked us up on time from our hotel, where we met our driver, Shawn. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and knew all the short cuts around traffic and crowds, because he was from Blue Mountains. Our day was filled with exciting views, a casual walk in the rain forest and great opportunities to explore the Australian outdoors, including the three sisters, a water fall, and a wildlife preserve. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the Blue Mountains from a local perspective... PS. The tour also includes a breakfast and lunch. Not bad for the price.
Our small group tour was pleasantly small, with just our family and another on the trip. The advantages of shoulder season and cruise ships not in town! It was a great day! Sean picked us up exactly on time (even a bit early) and we made our way up towards the Blue Mountains. Due to a current drought and changing ecosystem right now, the breakfast spot doesn’t have the typical kangaroos now. Knowing this, Sean took us a bit off the path to try to spot some - and it worked! We saw several grazing along the roads before making our way to breakfast where there were an abundance of wild birds - primarily kookaburras, but not exclusively. We were joined at breakfast by Alec, who makes a mean bacon and egg sandwich on some amazingly tasty rolls from a nearby bakery. The most surprising part was how the birds would do anything to get a bite of the sandwich, or just the whole thing :) We had been warned to watch out for those sneaky fellas but they managed to surprise us nonetheless. Definitely a good, and funny, story! From there we headed to the famous Blue Mountains spots, where Sean’s local knowledge made for a seamless experience. We loved going opposite the crowds while still experiencing the same spots. Afterwards, we stopped by Featherdale where we had a chance to see many more types of native species and were even able to feed the kangaroos and wallabys. The tour wrapped with a ferry ride back into Sydney Harbour and a chance to take some fantastic skyline/bridge snapshots. All in, this tour was 2 thumbs up and I’d highly recommend for anyone looking to take a day trip. Thanks, Team!! Keep up the great work :)
Had a fantastic day with Sean who knew all the ins and outs of the Blue Mountains. His local knowledge kept us at the front of the line and away from the bus loads of people so we always had the best seat and greatest views. His mate Graeme provided breakfast and possibly the best entertainment of the day. Top notch tour group!
If you are going to book a tour of the Blue Mountains, this is the one to do! Graham and Sean are amazing host/tour experts. From breakfast with the Kangaroos, to learning about the history of the area, we had the best time. Small group, didn’t feel rushed, food in a local pub, all great! DO IT!
We took this trip in last November. There is no confusion, question or concern is choosing this day trip. Scott and Graham are amazing. During tour my son had health issues and Scott helped us and managed the situation so well. Scott and Graham, appreciate all the hep that day and we really enjoyed the day. Pics from that day are one of our favourite. Regards
This day trip was amazing! We got a good sense of what the Lower and Upper Blue Mountains were all about. The tour day started early, picking us up at 6:30 am at our hotel, and returning us to the harbour at the end of the day about 6:00 pm. After our hotel pickup and drive out of Sydney, we had a camp style breakfast waiting for us at the Blue Mountains National Park (Lower Blue Mountains) and allowed us ample opportunity to spend time looking for kangaroos and all other wildlife in the area. We then drove to Katoomba Park (Upper Blue Mountains) to see the Three Sisters points and view the expansive canyons filled with Eucalyptus trees. We took the sky tram down to the rain forest below in the Scenic World area. The history of the area, as told to us by our guide Sean, was personalized as he has both family ties and lives in the area. After our visit at Scenic World, we stopped at a local pub for lunch in one of the small towns along the way, and then we traveled onward to the Featherdale Wildlife Refuge. The refuge had a large assortment of birds, koalas, kangaroos, and other animals to see. We ended our day with a catamaran trip down the Parramatta River to the Sydney Harbour, which was beautiful with all the city lights. There were many stops for amenities throughout the day. Our guide Sean, and owner Graham, were amazing hosts on this day trip. We highly recommend this tour as it accommodates small groups rather than the large impersonal bus tours. We had 11 in our tour group and we traveled in a van. We will always remember this day as very memorable. Thank you Sean and Graham for an outstanding tour of the Blue Mountains.
This was by far the most memorable of tours for our family/friend group of 8 travelers. Communication prior to our tour was excellent. We were picked up at our hotels on time for this incredible & private tour. We were excited to see kangaroos in the wild almost immediately upon entering the park, & were able to capture some wonderful pictures of them. Breakfast was amazingly simple, but flavorful & ample. The best part was the cheery & friendly guides who presented the meal to us. Kookaburras made quite a racket & provided excellent entertainment throughout our picnic style breakfast. Scenic world & Featherdale Wildlife Park were equally fantastic, & our guide accompanied us all day. We were told stories by our guide driver that kept us laughing throughout our van rides. Lunch was awesome at a sweet little restaurant with a nostalgic feel in a quaint mountain town. Food was delicious, & we were allowed plenty of time to enjoy it. We were allowed plenty of time throughout the day to experience each segment of our day without feeling rushed. At the end of our tour we chose to ferry back on the Paramatta River for a further scenic experience. The option to be returned by van back to our hotel was also available had we not wanted to venture on the ferry. Tickets were purchased & ready aforehand by our guide. This was truly an awesome & memorable adventure. There is no tour that can possibly compete for a full day’s activity, providing every opportunity to encounter wildlife & beauty in the Blue Mountains, Featherdale, & Scenic World at this truly reasonable pricing for a private tour. We were made to feel like family by our guides, Graham(Chapo), Hayden, & even Shawn who was guiding another group on this day. Everything we did was inclusive in our tour price without a single extra penny spent. A heartfelt thank you to all the guides who we will wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking for a true wildlife experience in the Blue Mountains. Hotel Concierges should take note to make this tour a recommendation for guests!! It was in a word, PERFECT!
We had read that Blue Mountain Tours was great but it was about the best way we could have begun our Australia trip. We booked the full day trip which is KEY. They pick you up at the hotel at 6:45am and you get back to Sydney around 5:30pm. There are several "adventures" you will do but expect to be riding in the bus for almost half of the time going place to place. This is OK as your driver/guide will regale you with tales of the history of Australia and the areas. The best part of this was right at the beginning. The concierge at our hotel (The Drake- awesome!) told us we would have "breakfast with the kangaroos" but I was not prepared to have breakfast and have 3 wild kangaroos stroll (well hop) through our camp and hang out. It was great to be 10 feet from wild kangaroos and see the way they communicate with each other. Our driver/guide Hayden and the main guide at Breakfast Graham were wonderful in translating the behaviors for our group. They took many pictures for us. You will also go to the Featherdale Wildlife Park where you can pet kangaroos and kaolas and things but those are tame so not quite as riveting as the ones from breakfast. The trip to the 3 Sisters and trolley rides was really cool. If you are afraid of heights, you may want to keep your eyes closed. Fun train/tram rides. Cool walk through a Jurrasic age forest with great tales and tidbits (plus rubbing natural teatree on your skin). Ending the day with the boat ride up the river under the Sydney Bridge was really a treat. All in all, if you want to experience the nature and animals and spectacular views around the area- DO THIS TOUR! Well worth the price. Thank you gentlemen for a great kickoff to our big trip.
We were baffled by the many choices of tours of the Blue Mountains, so we went to the concierge at the Intercontinental to help us sort out the options. Fortunately, Peter was just the right adviser. He recommended Blue Mountains Tours (the one from Glenbrook, not Sydney) because the guides are from the Blue Mountains, the groups are small, and they take you to a picnic-style, hot off the grill, egg-and-bacon sandwich breakfast at a bucolic spot where kangaroos are frequently spotted. It was magical. Kangaroos and kookaburras were abundant. Sean was our guide: friendly, fun and informative. Graham directs the magic, and is dedicated to providing a top-notch experience. Excellent adventure.
Graham was an awesome tour guide. Three sisters making memories that will last a life time such an enjoyable day. Jan, Betty and Glenys
Chapo was our private tour guide for the beautiful Blue Mountains experience which was delightful!! It started with a very friendly early pick up at our hotel. We then drove for about an hour to the Blue Mountains where a very tasty outside breakfast and coffee/tea was waiting for us in a remote grassy area where we watched wild kangaroos. After breakfast Chapo took us to some outstanding lookout points where we really experienced the vastness and the beauty of the Blue Mountains. Chapo also lives in the Blue Mountains and offers very descriptive information throughout the tour. We also engaged Chapo on two other occasions and really can't say enough about him as he is very engaging and definitely gave us wonderful service above what we expected. We would highly recommend this experience!! Eric and Elina Winnipeg, Canada
I have to tell you this is one of the best Guided tours we have been on. We had an amazing tour guide named Scotty in a small passenger bus. Scotty really went out his way to make everyone have a great time! Very knowledgable on many subjects. The tour and Scotty was a 10!!
Scott was our guide today. Did a great job entertaining and informing the group. Was flexible with plans and since we were good on time got us some bonus overlooks. Tour is a great way to see the mountains and is small and personal. Loved it.
Graham (Chappo) Chapman is knowledgeable, a great story teller, and his deep love of the area shines brightly thru this amazing day. I really can’t say enough about the day my wife and I just had, so I’ll net it out: Going to the Blue Mountains? This is the tour you want.
We were a group of 8 on Cristmas day. The blue mountains are something else and Graham is a super story teler with vast knowledge of the mountains, Australian history and background. A highly recomended enjoyable day.
A day of awesome views and unforgettable experiences. Starting with breakfast in the bush: kangaroos at our feet; cockatoos and kookaburras overhead. Ending with marvelous views along the Parramatta River, under the Sydney Bridge and past the Opera House. Our tour guide Graham (Chappo) was not only knowledgable, but also passionate about the Blue Mountains, its history, flora and fauna. We rode the cable cars and railway at Scenic World and Graham led a guided walk through the rain forest. He took us to a great scenic viewpoint where there were few tourists. And we got up close and personal with native animals at Featherdale. And all this at a bargain price! One of the best day trips ever!
I have been a bit too busy to write this up and have seen other reviews. They are not wrong. Chapo treated us to a wonderful day out - even though we had already been to Oz and the Blue Mountains before. He showed us views and areas we had not thought of visiting. His knowledge and passion for his country is outstanding. You will learn things you will remember forever on this trip. We were there on the 11th of November and he was careful to ensure we had a silence at 11am, not just for his country but for everyone who has ever contributed to us being able to live the comfortable lives we do. He is hospitable, kind and caring. A small group made it a friendly and enjoyable trip. Also we were of all ages and all managed.
We had planned to book with a larger tour company, but I'm so glad we chose this one instead. What a great day! Breakfast with wild kangaroos was awesome and my favorite part of the tour. Chapo is the perfect tour guide, a local who lives in and loves the Blue Mountains. His stories with his Aussie accent made Australian history come alive for us all. Even his singing along with the "oldies" on the radio was tolerable. LOL! Thanks so much for making us feel like part of your family, and our last day in Sydney so memorable. The Moores from Colorado.
Graham and the Blue Mountains Private Tour Team are very approachable and easy to communicate with. They really put your comfort, safety and interest as the priority during the entire tour. We really had fun on our very first family trip to the Blue Mountains with Graham. All the fun stories, sightseeing, great weather, amazing lunch and relaxing ride throughout the trip are all worth it. I will personally recommend this tour to all my friends. Big thanks to Graham and the rest of team for the fun memories at the Blue Mountains! Til next time!
We were welcomed at the hotel lobby by Chapo our guide to blue Mountain on a Sunday morning. He did not cancel our booking despite there was only the 2 of us. Chapo is very passionate towards Blue Mountain and the nature. He brought us to places which normally big tour buses could not access to and also brought us to get close to kangaroos living in the wild. Chapo lives in Blue Mountain. So he knows the secret places with magnificent view that we wouldn't bump into the big tour groups of tourist. We saved alot of time on not having to queue up when taking pics. I was initially contemplating the $99 package which the hotel offered. But after having done the calculations, what Chapo offered was way much cheaper despite it being at $195. Cos it includes the entry to Scenic world, Featherdale Park and of cos a very delicious lunch at a local home owned restaurant and not mentioning all history stories that he shared with us on blue Mountain. Well done Chapo! Definitely worth more than every cent we paid.
We started out with Mom excited, Dad skeptical, and the (adult) kids half asleep. But we unanimously had a fabulous day in the Blue Mountains with Graham (aka Chappo) Chapman. His enthusiasm permeated the family starting with our early pickup at our Sydney CBD hotel, and kept us energized throughout the day. Chappo’s knowledge of the region, the history, the geology and the people can’t be surpassed. We first spent the day with kangaroos in their natural habitat, and at this time of year many were carrying joeys in their pouches. Frankly we could have ended our whole trip to Australia and been satisfied at that point – just the thrill (at least coming from the USA) to see kangaroos hopping around in their own surroundings was a complete thrill. From there we headed to the Blue Mountains. The vastness of the region and the beauty of the rocks, cliffs, and waterfalls was simply spectacular. This was augmented by Chappo’s depth of knowledge of the region in which no question went unanswered. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the region, and there are views in every direction you look. We next stopped at the Featherdale Wildlife Park, where we saw many birds and animals indigenous to Australia. We even got to feed the kangaroos. Chappo’s commitment to his clients was evident all the way until the end. From the pickup to thoroughly enjoyable lunch until he dropped us off for the ferry back to Sydney. For example, instead of just saying goodbye he waited until the boat left port and was on the river before heading home from his very long day. We’d recommend Chappo and Blue Mountains Tours to anyone. As Chappo says, “Come with your imagination and Chappo will bring the history of the Blue Mountains to life” – and he delivered!
chapo was the best tour guide I have ever had, very interested in the history of the blue mountains and a very personable guy. He showed us all the interesting and beautiful things there, and would book him again and recommend him to anyone wanting a great tour.
A wonderful day during the Blue Mountains, thank Graham(Chapo) for his warm reception and patience to tell us about Bluemountains, Australian history and so on.
Thank you so much to Graham for making this such a great trip! My friend and I were visiting Sydney for the 3rd time from the United States and planned on going to see the Blue Mountains. We booked this tour because our concierge at the hotel told us that other guests loved the funny tour guide and because the tour was all inclusive in 1 price. Graham picked us up at our hotel in the morning. It ended up just being the 2 of us on the tour as a few others cancelled last minute. Whereas other companies would have cancelled with only 2 people signed up, Graham still came and gave us the 5-star tour. On our way to the Blue Mountains National Park, Graham filled us in on the history of Australia and of the Blue Mountains. When we got there, we were able to see wild kangaroos with their baby joeys in their pouches. Graham is so knowledgeable, he was able to get us as close as possible to them that was safe for us and the kangaroos. He also took us wombat tracking through the bush and taught us about the other native animals. Along the way, we stopped at scenic lookout points to see the Blue Mountains. At Scenic World, Graham knew all of the secrets to get us to the front and beat the crowds. We had the best seats on the train, the sky way, and the cable way (which means we got the BEST pictures!). We stopped off for lunch at a local Australian restaurant and continued on to Featherdale Wildlife Park. There we saw all of the Australian animals- dingoes, koalas, wallabies, kookaburras, and more kangaroos. We returned to Sydney by ferry where Graham waved goodbye to us from the dock, not leaving until our ferry had left. This was a 1 of a kind tour. Don't even consider booking with anyone else- the best experience you will get is with Graham! Thank you so much for making this an unforgettable day!
Great day, the tour guide was knowleadgeable, kind and open. He added value to the tour, which exceeded our expectations. We were additionally like to be my partner and i and chapo only. It was our honeymoon and it was the best excursion we had in 23 days in australia. We left with a nice feeling and could know a more about australia history. The guide explained it fantastically and kept our attention all day, which is not usual in this kind of tours. Price was as other tours but would not mind to have paid a bit more.
Amazing visit to the Blue Mountains! There is no parallel for this tour. Mr. Chapman will do everything in his capabilities to provide the best experience as possible. If your are thinking about visiting the Blue Mountains, this is the real deal. It worth every penny. We were very glad that we booked this particular tour.
Considering a trip to the Blue Mountains...choose Blue Mountain Tours! Hands down, the experience will be the most memorable you will ever imagine. Spending a week in Sydney as part of an A4LE learning experience (work), my colleague and I wanted to take in as much of the "Sydney" scenery as possible. Based on my research, a trip to the Blue Mountains was a must. There were so many choices in terms of tours and sight seeing trips. We even considered the Hop-on Hop-off bus and train as a more economical way to see the famed Blue Mountains. Boy! I am so glad we didn't!! Our hotel concierge highly recommended Graham's company - Blue Mountain Tours - as the tour in itself was more personable and on the smaller side. The concierge said Graham knew the area and could provide a much different engagement than the large tours. We listened and I am telling you...you have to choose Blue Mountain Tours as your choice. Graham provided a private tour which was unexpected but totally enjoyed. From the moment he said good morning to the hug at the end of the day dropping us off at the ferry, my friend and I had a delightful time. Graham is like a park ranger as he grew up in the Blue Mountains and truly knows the area and all of its beauty, mystery, and folklore of stories. Take Graham's personally history and family roots and pair that with his entrepreneurial spirit of being a grand tour guide and marketing expert and the mix is a winning combination for an amazing day of sight-seeing, story-telling, and friendship development. We started the day from out hotel at 6:30 am. Drove about 1 hour to the nature preserve to play with the roaming kangaroos and hike in the brisk dewy air of the morning. From there, we stopped at a little cafe to sip coffee and nibble sweet breads. Graham, being the tour guide extraordinaire, worked with the locals and had a constant gauge on the tourist traffic for the day. He managed throughout the day to keep ahead of the large tourist groups allowing my friend and I a peaceful and engaging day of adventure without the waiting or rushing. Graham took us off the beaten path to have a much more in depth tour and provided the stories and background for us to truly understand the majesty of the Blue Mountains. We experienced the nature preserve - complete with mamma kangaroos, baby joey's, wombats, beautiful scenery and hiking trails, Featherdale Park where we fed kangaroos, held a koala, and played with a cassowary, Scenic World (which in itself you can spend all day hiking and exploring) the site to view the Three Sisters. Graham took us to a local pub for grub rather than fight the crowds at popular eating holes. Food was great and the conversation much better. We saw and experienced so much. I could not have imagined this opportunity to have developed any better. When the day drew to an end, Graham drove us to the docks where the ferry boats waited to vessel weary tourists back to Sydney and other nearby destinations. Graham snapped a photo with us and waited on the dock until out boat departed. With hearty arm and hand waving, Graham headed off to another social event. My friend and I, content and amazed at our day's adventure, counted our blessings and looked through the hundreds of pictures we snapped throughout the day. Best adventure ever! Blue Mountain Tours - no other tour will match the personalized touches Graham and his team offer!!
