If you want to learn and see everything in one day then do this one. The guide for the day was Dave who took very good care of my wife and I. Our Hilton hotel suggested this company as they do hotel pick up and return. We visited all the main sites, even some extra out to Govetts Leap and had time for a Devonshire tea in a quaint Laura cafe. An amazing day.

We had an amazing time with Ben - he here early for pick up. Told us all about the country and history, landscape animals and birds. He kept us on track without rushing. Highly recommend and Ben was the absolute best!
Travelled all the way from England to see our Sydney relatives. It’s never enough times to visit the Blue mountains to see different views. This time our private tour was with Darren who took us to places we didnt do before, like the Megalong Valley and a short hike at Evans lookout where the mountain goes into a spectacular gorge with the Bridalveil falls. Another brilliant memory for our trip. Ang top marks to Darren.
Dave was a great guide, and too great care of us while we were out! Highly recommended paying a little more for a private tour!
We had an exceptionally experienced guide in Dave for our private tour. Even though it was cold 10 degrees, the air was fresh and we visited all the main sites and Dave gave us lots of facts and details. The viewing was very clear. Everywhere was not busy was made it all the more pleasurable. A very very nice day in the mountain.
My wife and I went to the Blue mountains this week. It was chilly but so beautiful. The air was fresh and we had Dave make us a private tour at our pace. We wanted easy walks and some relax time as well in the village.. We saw 3 sister and waterfall. Dave suggested the Scenictrain and cableway were good. So we did tat with him and he gave us a full guided walk in the forest on the Boardwalk. The day finished with the ferry along the river, was a nice relaxing end to a special day. Happy to recommend this company and Dave's service.
We were my elderly Mum ,2kids of 11y and 14 y and me and hubby. We had Dave all to ourselves on his private option. He made the day to suit us which had something of interest for each of us, we all loved Scenicworld rides and the Featherdale, Mum had some retail time in Leura while we went off the view some brilliant views of the canyon. Dave knows all the best places and he seems well known with other guides daying hi to him. The entire day was the best and the ferry ride down the river which ends near the Opera house completed our best day in Sydney.
We wanted Dave to arrange a larger vehicle to take our group of 13 friends to make a Blue mountains tour, just for us. He did an amazing job, picked us all up in 3 different places in the city. He is incredibly knowledgeable. We saw mountain vistas, his guided walk in the forest on the Boardwalk taught us all so much, you need to take the Secenicworld option to do this but it is so worth it. We saw Kangaroos, Emus , so many Koala bears at the Featherdales park. His Katoomba cafe recommendation was warm and inviting with a nice meal selection. Dave’s long experience really shines through . The ferry cruise to return to the city was the best ending to the most wonderful tour. Each member of our group found engaging with Dave to answer all questions was very rewarding. Thanks so much Dsve for your service.
Dave did so much to make our family comfortable during our trip to the Blue mountain from Sydney. His driving was smooth whilst he chatted to us and told us all we wanted to know. He navigated to all the best places to see, the # sisters, the exciting rides, and a nice lunch cafe in Katoomba called Yellow deli. The ferry return to the city capped off a marvellous outing for us.
We had Dave as our guide tour - the tour is not worth your money if you will not buy the additional tickets to enter scenic world / otherwise is exactly ‘a transfer’ to Blue Mountains. The experience was really poor: the guide didn’t know exactly where to buy the tickets to Scenic World, he rushed through the path of Scenic World, just to end up eating outside in a freezing rain (this was our tour guide recommendation for the restaurant - was either eating outside in rain or no other option to eat). The expectation is that you will spend a lot of time in the center of the cities for ‘shopping’, but basically there are just a couple of shops on the Main Street and not too much opportunities to actually do any shopping. The return included the visit to a zoo, where we were just dropped off as our tour guide (for which we paid for his time for entire day) just sat on a bench and read a newspaper while we walked through the zoo. The final was epic: something that is marketed as ‘ a cruise’ is basically just a regular scheduled commuter passenger boat … Overall not a great experience, not worth the money this tour with this company and try to avoid Dave and his car (the car was dirty, damaged outside …).
Our private tour with Dave was everything you could want with something for all family members. Our kids loved Scenicworld rides, my elderly father enjoyed strolling in Leura and relaxing at viewpoints. My wife and I loved the short walks. particularly being with Dave and his commentary along the forest Boardwalk. Comfortable driving and a relaxing boat back to Sydney made a splendid day.
All aspects of our blue mountains tour with Dave were spot on. From answering all our emails to hotel puck up and the day itself were incredible. The mountains are sure a day in Sydney well spent. Great scenic lookouts, thrilling rides at the Scenicworld and Dave's fascinating facts throughout make a most enjoyable day. Make sure you do the private option it's worth the extra to have his undivided attention for just yourselves.
David was wonderful person to spend the day with. He was very knowledgeable about the Blue mountains and shared valuable information.
We had an absolutely fantastic private Blue Mountains tour with Dave. He picked us up right at our hotel, was perfectly on time, and thanks to his planning we beat the crowds into the mountains. The scenery was stunning, and Dave’s knowledge really brought the area to life — from the geology to the unique flora and fauna of the region. The weather couldn’t have been better, and we loved the mix of experiences, including the train ride and the boardwalks. One of the highlights was visiting the animal park — Dave timed it perfectly so we arrived right at feeding time, when all the animals were active and out and about. Dave was especially wonderful with the kids, keeping them engaged with stories and even some Australian songs along the way. Having a private tour made all the difference, allowing us to move at our own pace and really enjoy each stop without feeling rushed. I truly can’t recommend Dave or this tour highly enough. It was a perfect day and a highlight of our time in Australia. ⸻
We had amazing day with Dave our driver and guide. He got us into all the Scenic World attractions beating the queues and the crowds. He was so knowledgeable and we learnt so much. We stopped for lunch in a lovely cafe, walked around some shops and also stopped for photos at lovely look outs. Featherdale was an excellent addition too! I would highly recommend this trip as we'd never have been able to do this on our own! Thanks so much Dave!
We did this tour today and honestly, it ended up being one of the highlights of our time in Sydney. If you want to pack in wildlife encounters, epic views, and a super relaxing cruise back to the city, this is the way to do it. Our guide, Dave, was the biggest standout. Knowledgeable, funny, and you could tell he genuinely loves what he does. He tailored the stops to what we cared about and never rushed us. Seeing kangaroos and koalas up close was incredible, not just a quick photo-op but time to watch them and learn about them. The Blue Mountains portion was gorgeous. We hit lookout points we would’ve never found on our own. Lunch was great too. Great food, at a quiet local restaurant. The cruise back to Sydney at the end was the perfect way to wind down instead of sitting in traffic. Floating into the harbour with the Opera House and Harbour Bridge for our view was unreal. We were unsure what to do today and booked this tour last minute. Super glad we did. If you’re on the fence about whether a private tour is worth it, this one is. It’s a full day but never feels rushed or exhausting, and you get a ton of value packed in without doing any of the planning yourself. We would happily do it again and will recommend it to friends visiting Sydney. Highly recommend.
Dave could have not done more for us to make the Blue mountains trip absolutely the best. We are back in Sydney just us, no kids. Loved the quiet private tour., a most relaxing day with a few short walks and some off the beaten track lookouts away from crowds. Dave knows how to do it the best way. Of course the spring weather helped the day.
Our tour of the Blue mountains was everything you could want in a day. Good driving and commentary, incredible Blue mountain views, perfect spring weather, it was one magical day just the guide and us.
We had a great time with our 17 and 19 year old boys in the Blue Mountains who we took along with us this time for a first overseas trip with them. Our photos could not capture the grandeur of this majestic canyon. It was all enhanced by the excellent commentary by Dave. We have recommended this wonderful trip to all our friends.
I don’t know how this private tour could be any better. A brilliant guide, excellent cool mountain weather and views surpassing anywhere else we have been. Enjoyed mixing it with koalas and kangaroos at the zoo and a relaxed riverboat returning to the city.Thank you so much.
Wonderful tour!! Dave is very knowledgeable, polite, efficient and cheerful! A good driver, too. His 30+ years of experience helped us to taste the breathtaking Blue Mountains seamlessly, no hiccups, he knew exactly where to go from one point to the next to maximize our time. From the pick up at the hotel to the last stop, the river cruise, everything was just amazing. We learned about the three sisters, the fantastic railway and many more things. He took our photos, excellent choice of places for it. He knew all the views worth savoring. If it is your first visit to Australia (Sydney) please book this experience and do it at the beginning of your stay, as it will give you a beautiful perspective of Sydney, the mountains and surrounding areas. Then you can focus on the museums, pubs and dining in the city. We were worried about the hike being too wild (spiders, snakes, etc) but it was perfect, no need for mosquitoes head nets (winter time). It was a relaxing and exciting tour. The CableWay (gondola) is a must, Dave was great at pointing where and what to take photos of, the Boar's Head formation, etc. Highly recommend this tour!
The Blue Mountains is west of Sydney in Australia’s New South Wales. dramatic scenery, steep cliffs, eucalyptus forests, waterfalls and villages dotted with guesthouses and gardens. Katoomba, a major town in the area, borders Blue Mountains National Park and its bushwalking trails. Echo Point affords views of the storied Three Sisters sandstone rock formation. Darren was an excellent driver and guide. He was kind and attentive to our every need, kept us well fed, we have been given great convenience. We happy and feel comfortable
Our driver, Dave, was fantastic. His commentary was full of interesting information always delivered with a touch of humour. In the mountains he stopped several times in off the beaten track spots to explain different aspects of the area. The day passed SO quickly and with the river cruise back to the city the day ended perfectly. HIGHLY recommend Blue Ribbon Day tours to anyone wanting a genuinely interesting day out in the Blue Mountains with a safe and entertaining driver.
This experience was amazing! So beautiful and fun. Our tour guide was awesome and super knowledgeable. Definitely the way to see the blue mountains in Australia.
We used this company for both a city Sydney tour and plus a trip o the blue mountains. We had two different guides and both were Sydney locals and super knowledgeable. We were shown all over Sydney from 8am to 4pm..such a beautiful city. And the mountains took the cake so to speak, it was a magical crisp autumn day with lovely colours in the trees. We got to see many vantage points of the canyon and saw lots of parrots and local flora. What a fantastic 2 days we had, made by this company.
It's the perfect way to spend a whole day in Sydney with your family going to the Blue mountain. Good family bonding taking a private tour where you have the guide to yourselves. He can design the day to suit your likes which is exactly what Dave did. We had quality time at Scenicworld where you can rides multiple times which the kids loved. Saw all the main attractions and even time in Leura for a short shop. A great day.
This days outing from Sydney to the Blue mountains was better than we envisaged. The private tour for just us certainly enhances the experience and Dave makes it even better with good communications, comfy ride, and the little touches of things he had during his 30 years as a guide. The Grand Canyon speaks for itself in beauty together with the different ways to view it, from the Gondolas, to the valley Boardwalk and numerous looking out points, it's he very best day.
our tour guide was excellent. Darren. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Its not a cheap trip at all. But without a guide I doubt I would have done as much as we did.......walks through the mountains, scenic view points, history, nice towns for lunch, wild life centre, and scenic centre for cable cars, views and mining ....ending with river cruise back to Circular quay. pack for a variety of weathers.
The mountain views are exceptional Al we had the most perfect day with 22 degrees .Dave showed us all around the mountain as if it was his own backyard. Would do it all again . Highly recommend.
Going to Sydney at Christmas is very busy. But with Dave to navigate you around the Blue mountains you can’t go wrong and can avoid all the crowds. He tells you about his 30 years tour experience and it all shows through his wonderful guiding. The lue mountain is spectacular. We thorougly enjoyed our tour.
After many years our family returned to Sydney to visit our relatives for Xmas for 3 weeks. The Blue mountains were so gorgeous last time we looked up to see Blue Ribbon still doing tours, and we got so lucky as Dave was again available. We went the private tour deal so we had him to ourselves. Nothing is too much trouble for him, he even tolerated our little ones. He made our Christmas taking us to vistas and villages we didn't do last time. What a memory we have, we love Sydney.
Our family came back to Australia from New Zealand after 10 years.and were surprised to see Dave still running his tour.. It was very pleasung to make the trip just with him as our guide and no others, just our family. We did his Blue mountains trip again and visited different scenic viewing points to the last trip. He is so nice we got him to also give us a private Sydney tour, such a beautiful city , he even gave us time for a swim for our daughters at Manly beach. Dave will make your day !
It's very confusing to choose which Blue mountains tour to use, so many. Our hotel concierge helped us and he had heard good things about this private tour. So, he called them up and they could pick us up at our city hotel the next day. We saw the Blue mountains, the gondolas, some shopping in Leura and even patted koala bears and roos at the wildpark sanctuary. It was truly an excellent day with a most accomplished guide in Dave. Thanks a million !
Our family of 5 - my Mum , wife and two boys aged 6 and 12 all found something in the dat to adore. We were on our private tour with just Dave as our navigator. It's a big trip from Europe so wanted to make the most of every minute and Dave made sure of that. This is our second Aussie visit but this time with all our family. Loved every second of out time at the Blue mountains. It included visiting some koala bears, emus, wallabys etc at a zoo. Dave chose some short easy hikes and took us us to lookout points where there was no one else. He dropped us back to our Intercontinental hotel at 6pm after an incredible journey.
We returned to visit our relatives here after 6 years and wanted another taste of the mountains. We phoned up the previous tour company and asked for their private tour. Amazing the next day they could take us, even collecting us from our private residence in Coogee. Again we saw and did so much, but visited different places to last time. There are so many places to go we got completely different photos and vistas. Another great day, thanks Dave for organising.
We chose Australia for our honeymoon. Naturally you only want a private tour and Dave was the man. He went out of his way to find special locations in the Blue mountains away from the crowds. Some amazing photos of just us with amazing scenery on rocks and a6t waterfalls. He organised a picnic lunch for us in a remote rocky outcrop. We did the train and gondals. The three sisters walk was a bonus. What a magical day.
We are four friends visiting Sydney and we could not agree on which tour company. So we asked our Air bnb host who heard good things about Blue ribbon tours. They were most friendly on the phone and were happy to answer all our questions. Collected us from Bondi beach and off we went to the Blue mountains. Our guide was an Aussie and knew his stuff and managed us in the crowds at Scenicworld. Enjoyed the forest walk with him and along the drive we made many sops at lovely overlooks. Really enjoyed the river boat back to Sydney, such a relaxing way to end a brilliant day. We will recommend.
On this trip we spent a little more to make a private tour with Dave of the Blue mountains. We told him what we have seen on other trips so he showed us so much else. the park is so vast, it's never ending views. Another wonderful experience in this amazing place with the best guide.
We were so well taken care of by Dave Taylor, our guide for the day. From the time he picked us up at our hotel until he dropped us at the ferry for the ride back to Sydney, he provided us with a wealth of information on Sydney and the Blue Mountain area. He was so well versed on the plant varieties and their benefits. History came alive with his stories. I'm so glad he encouraged us to take full advantage of Scenicworld. It was definitely the icing on the cake! We loved the interaction with animals at Featherdale Wildlife Park, including a picture with a koala! Wonderful, well paced day. Exceptional experience!
We were a group of 4 friends in Sydney. We read so much of the Blue mountains we went on our own group. We planned with Dave what we wanted to see and we also wanted a small hike. We had a lunch on a remote rocky place and we did the train and gondola option. We had the most fulfilling day and he taught us so much. Safely returned us to our Bondi Air bnb. You can be sure of the best day with Dave he knows his stuff !
Me and my wife were in Sydney for a friends wedding. On a spare day we decided to go to the Blue mountains again. Last time was on a bus with other people, but now we could afford to pay a bit more for a private trip. Remembered our last trip and we chose Blue ribbon. Surprised they are still running so we chose their private tour. We had young Darren as our guide, such a polite chap and good driver. He had all the knowledge about everything and ran the day exactly at the pace we wanted. the vistas were amazing and , being Autumn the tree colours incredibly vibrant. A fantastic day .
Darren was a knowledgeable and accommodating tour guide. We appreciated his patience, humor and flexibility.
Our journey out to the mountains from Sydney was perfect. The private style tour made all the difference to our enjoyment. No waiting for others it is a very amazing day of scenery, fresh air and learning about the environment. We will be happy to recommend this tour.
Our family wanted to not be on a bus with others. Our Sheraton hotel recommended this one. They fetched us at 8am and in 90 minutes we were in Katoomba standing at the impressive 3 Sisters. The canyon is immense and blue. Our guide suggested Scenicworld rides, which cost $59 and is really a must do to see the views and forest from alternate places. Really good chats by our guide and we took the ferry back to the city. It is a top day.
My partner and I fully support the other reviews on the quality of this private tour. We based our tour selection purely on reviews for Private tours and Dave was a gem. The mountain scenery speaks for itself, but the total experience is enhanced by Dave's driving skills and he is a mine of information. He explains how he has done these tours for so many years and that sure shows through. Is there nothing he doesn't know ? Well done, mate. His son Darren was also driving a tour that day and we met the other guests too, we all sat down for lunch. You can see he has trained up Darren too, our lunch ended up like we were all family.
Our family with our 2 teenage girls enjoyed immensely our day in the Blue Mountains with Dave. We had fun on the Katoomba rides, enjoyed his dialogue on the rainforest board walk and to end the day at Featherdales animal Park was the best. The mountain scenery is incredible. A tour to recommend to all.
So close to Sydney is the Blue mountain, we were in Katoomba in only 90 minutes. Of course it made a difference doing the tour with just us and a nice guide. We came to look at the Three sisters, ride on the train and gondola and see a waterfall.. Also an easy forest walk . The day was complete with the lovely ferry back to the city. Avery nice day, thank you.
My family from Korea to visit our cousin in Sydney again. Remembering we went to Blue mountain on bus last visit which is alright, but nicer doing only my family. Nice seeing the Blue ribbon still there. We made reservation and went to mountain last Tuesday. It was very cold and we take jacket. The tour was with Darren and us only. He nice man and take good care of us in mountain. He take us to very nice places where we did not do before. A lovely day with a lovely man. Thank you Darren. Yoon family.
This was a tour just for my family with our 12 and 14 y old boys. Everyone said to see the Blue mountains so we searched the reviews and came up with Dave's private trips. It was a full on day from 7am until evening, we could have gone on but it was so much to see it was enough, so so brilliant the air and vistas of the Blue to beyond, the gondolas and train in Katoomba, lookouts, a relaxed stop in Leura town for coffee and home to the hotel. Dave is a wonderful ambassador for his country, he sure is good at it, as he explains everything, he is so well versed. Thanks a million !
Our family opted for the private tour as we stayed out of town at Parramatta. It was great service to pick us up with our 3 kids. We went up to the mountain and it was not so far away, just over an hour. It was not high so the road climb was gentle. First stop in a cute town called Leura. Then they took us to places to see the canyon, some away from the tourists. The gorge and so many gum trees is a spectacle. We paid the extra $60 each to ride the rail and cableways, such a thrill. It was so convenient our guise went off his way to drop us right back at our hotel at 6pm, what service to top off a fab day for all.
