Our tour guide Luna was the best. Very nice and informative!! If we ever do a tour again, we would hope Luna is our guide!!! And the places were amazing. Saw a ton of kangaroos and jervis bay was beautiful.

Itinerary
Board your comfortable air-conditioned minibus and begin your coastal escape. Your guide shares fascinating stories about Jervis Bay's Aboriginal heritage, marine life, and local secrets during the scenic drive south along the stunning NSW South Coast.
Quick refreshment stop at Bulli (Southern Gateway Centre) with coffee, snacks, and restroom facilities. Set atop the hill, the café offers stunning views of the beautiful South Coast. A perfect spot to stretch your legs, snap a few photos, and enjoy a freshly brewed coffee while taking in the sweeping coastal scenery before hitting the road again.
Enter the pristine Jervis Bay Marine Park, home to the cleanest waters in NSW. Your guide explains how this sheltered bay earned its reputation for crystal-clear visibility and why it's a marine sanctuary protecting over 100 bottlenose dolphins, seals, penguins, and seasonal migrating whales.
Board your dolphin-watching vessel and set sail into the sparkling turquoise waters of Jervis Bay. Feel the thrill as over 100 resident bottlenose dolphins swim, play, and leap around the boat. Watch them race to surf the bow wave, showing off their incredible speed and agility. Your expert crew shares fascinating dolphin behavior insights while you cruise past dramatic coastal cliffs, hidden caves, and the famous white sand beaches. Covered seating areas and restrooms onboard. Spray jackets provided if needed.
Explore the charming bayside town of Huskisson, the gateway to Jervis Bay. Browse local boutique shops, grab lunch at waterfront cafés or casual eateries (typically A$15-30), or pick up picnic supplies for the beach. Your guide recommends the best spots for all tastes and budgets - from fresh fish and chips to gourmet cafés, Asian fusion to Italian. Quick options available for those wanting more beach time.
Experience the magic of walking between paradise beaches on the White Sands Trail. This stunning 25-minute coastal walk winds through native bushland, connecting Greenfield Beach to Hyams Beach. Feel the powder-soft sand beneath your feet - officially the whitest sand in the world according to Guinness World Records. Enjoy 1.5+ hours of free time to swim in crystal-clear waters (conditions permitting), relax on pristine white sand, search for dolphins from shore, capture incredible photos in the beautiful afternoon light, or explore the tranquil village. The afternoon timing provides warm temperatures perfect for swimming and beach relaxation.
Enter the sacred lands of Booderee National Park, owned and managed by the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community. Experience the unforgettable thrill of viewing wild kangaroos in their natural coastal habitat at Cave Beach. Watch these iconic Australian animals hop freely along the pristine beach and through the bushland. Keep your eyes open for wallabies, native birds, and sometimes even sea eagles soaring overhead.
Return to the original meeting point with unforgettable memories, hundreds of stunning photos, and a deep appreciation for Australia's coastal beauty. Your guide bids you farewell with recommendations for your remaining time in Sydney.

Its quite a long drive. 3 hours each way, with another 30 minutes if inner town commuting. The dolphin piece is about 1.30 minutes and is fantastic. The skipper was great. Although they do provide you with an additional coat, the boat ride is freezing though so do dress warm. Lots of places to grab lunch, too, at your own expense. Definitely more spectacular than Bondi Beach, but I do think East Africa has whiter sand so Im a bit surprised by the Guinness nod.
Wonderful excursion and Luna., tour guide, was very kind and awesome!!!! Loved all of the stops and enjoyed the small group excursion.
The tour went basically the same way as described. Pick up at 0700, driving for an hour or so before stopping at an Wollongong overlook. After that we were driven to the Booderee national park to see the wild kangaroos and cave beach. The kangaroos were just hanging out by a campsite. Very chill, they’re probably used to seeing people every day. We had time to visited another beach before heading to Huskisson for lunch and the dolphin tour. It’s a cute town with diverse lunch options. The dolphin tour is in the bay. Apparently dolphins like to follow under to boat to catch free wave rides, almost like surfing. They were pretty social, and swam very close to the boat. Last stop was at Kiama, a cute little spot with a blowhole and lighthouse. Beautiful spot, rather popular. The drive home was relatively uneventful. My main suggestion to improve the experience would be to have more regional facts and historical information given during the drive there and back and out at the spots we visited. I appreciated that the guide gave us space to enjoy the natural beauty of the area, but it would have been nice to learn more about the places we were visiting. Jervis Bay or Kangaroo facts, idk. Comparing this tour to the other ones there was also no water or snacks. Other tours also pick people up at their hotels if located in the central business district area, as opposed to having one meeting point for everyone. That’s not a big deal and meeting at one central point did save time in the morning. However, the lack of regional information or water being offered stood out in comparison to the other Sydney tours I took recently. In any case, it was a beautiful area, I got to see wild animals, and everything written in the itinerary occurred. Can’t really complain.
Despite the fact that the weather was not great (we were, after all, in NSW in winter) we thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Our guide was friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the abundance of kangaroos (the kids were thrilled) and the beaches, especially Cave Beach, and the blowhole at Kiama. It was a really good day.
Despite the wet weather the day was great. Tom our guide was welcoming and friendly and kept everyone upbeat even in the pouring rain. The kangaroos were adorable and the dolphins were stunning. Hyams beach didn’t disappoint even with grey skies overhead. It’s a long day but well worth it
The tour guide is more of a driver. There’s not much time to eat breakfast or lunch so best to eat breakfast early before the trip. And perhaps pack a sandwich for lunch. He stopped at the Kiama blow hole, took us to an extra beach at the kangaroo reserve and finished with a view point stop to see Sydney lights by night which is all not part of the tour. All the extras is what led me to give this 3 stars instead of 2. The experience though feels rushed and the driver is in the wrong business unfortunately.
Long journey to find out the dolphin trip was cancelled. Apparently sea too rough. Alternative was to watch the sea for 1 hour. Saw around 12 kangaroos on a nonsense path walk to a beach that you couldn’t do anything on. 30 minute stay. We had a breakfast stop for 30 minutes then a toilet stop for 30 minutes and then a dinner stop for 60 minutes all before 1pm. Seamed pointless. We then got 60 minutes on the golden sand beach which was lovely but there wasn’t anything else to do there. A long and not well planned out day
It was 3 hours of driving to get to the first excursion- The driver was very fatigued to start the day. Rubbing his eyes, his head, leaning on his elbows at lights. He did seem to waken after the first 2 hours. He wasn’t so much a guide as just a driver. The 3 hour drive home he did give us the add of the lighthouse stop which was greatly appreciated
James was lovely to talk to in English, Spanish and Portuguese! An amazing driver and a total flirt, would totally recommend!
Driver and or guide looked disinterested and was just ticking box for itenary. Gave no history or facts associated with the location. Location in itself was amazing though.
It rained the entire time. The cruise was torture. We couldn’t enjoy the white sand beach because of the wind. We didn’t get to go through the national park because of the rain. We mostly just drove around trying to figure out what to do as the weather impacted most if not all of the activities. The provider should’ve cancelled and refunded the tour but didn’t.
It is a long drive, 3 hours one way. It's just not worth it to spend half a day on a bus. The driver's English was mediocre and it was hard to understand him. His communication skills were lacking as well. We were sometimes confused what are we doing, where are we going, how much time we have etc. He was more of a driver than a tour guide. He was mainly interacting with 2 groups of people which didn't bother me, but telling them "we can go here or there, you decide what you want to do" was bizarre. The weather forecast for the day was rain, but they decided to go with the trip, because often "weather in Sydney is bad, but it's sunny in Jervis Bay". It wasn't. It was raining. So we didn't see any dolphins. We couldn't appreciate the beaches because it was raining and windy. Next time trust the weather forecast, cancel the trip and refund the money. Only good thing that made it not complete waste of the day was that we saw kangaroos on Cave Beach and could stroke them. Still not worth the money and the time in the end.
It takes 3 hours to get to Jervis Bay. Really enjoyed, John our guide was very helpful. Dolphin boat trip excellent, Hyams beach lovely. Enjoyed the whole day. Sceneryon the drive down and back spectacular.
Great drive on the coast; we saw vineyards, sheep, horses, cattle, as well, great views of the mountains, ocean and trees. Enjoyed the boat cruise, seeing kangaroos in the National Park and throughly enjoyed the beaches. Tour guide was great and knowledgeable.
Excellent and friendly driver/guide. Gorgeous landscapes, Nice meeting with kangurus. Unfortunately we could not see dolphins
Love it! The beaches were outstanding We saw a lot of Kangaroos The driver was excelent We had s great time
Amazing Jervis Bay tour! We saw dolphins and kangaroos up close, and Hyams Beach was absolutely stunning with its pure white sand and clear water. Well organised, friendly guide, and a truly unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!
It's wath good .i have 1 problem .in the trip ,Note that walking is a bit difficult for adults. We noted that a person can decide whether they are able or not.
The driver was excellent and visiting the three locations included in the Jarvis Bay tour was a memorable experience. If I based my rating just on that I would give the highest grade. However, I have reduced my rating because of the experience on the bus. If you are taking this tour expect to be on the road for 6 ½ hours in a very small space. At the end of the day, when I got off the bus, my legs were so stiff I could barely walk. On the positive side the bus was air conditioned.
Quite a long time spent on the bus (around 6 hours in total I’d say) but the experience was really great! Saw lots of dolphins and they swam with the boat which was amazing. Also saw kangaroos which was very cool and the beach at the end was stunning. Fernando was a great guide :)
Great day spent at Jervis Bay we visited Huskinson had lunch there and walked around the area with some ice cream. Did the boat cruise saw the dolphins swimming, well worth it. Went to Hyams Beach, what a beautiful beach with turquoise water, then headed to Cave Beach it was amasing, we also saw the kangaroos they were tame enough to allow you to pat them. Last stop at Kiama Blow Hole then headed back to our meeting point to head home. Ali our driver was lovely to deal with and funny at times. Highly recommend this tour.
The ride was much longer than what we had anticipated. there was very little explanations about anything as we traveled.. the kangaroo part of the excursion was a bit disappointing as the kangaroos were small and a bit mange. A lot of people would’ve rather gone to the White Sand beach and skipped that altogether.. and the dolphin cruise resulted in no dolphins and was extended which used up time for other things. The bus seemed to be underpowered for the terrain that we covered.
The activities were great. Driver was nice and friendly but not a guide. The Blowhole is not always included, we got to see it. The minibus was really old. Good experience considering the price.
The views and places we visited were amazing. The bus was comfortable enough, Aircon always being a welcome feature. The only real let down was the driver, fair play to him that English wasn't his first language, but there wasn't any commentary or information about the nature or the country we were in.
Visited Some sandy beaches and a cave but unfortunately no dolphins . Saw some Kangaroos and On the way I also saw an Ostrich. The drive is long but worth it. The guys are great. However if you are looking for a tour guide this is more solo of a tour .
I booked a tour for my mother on 25th October 2025, she took part on the Jervis Bay & Dolphin Cruise by Mate Tours. Her feedback was: “The tour was planned precisely and then conducted according to the plan. We were lucky to see picturesque landscapes, dolphins swimming together next to our cruiser and wallabies in the wild. Mac, who guided us, is a mix of wonderful energy, interesting information, a brilliant sense of humour and personal culture. Not to mention his driving skills. He’s just born to be a guide. In short: buy this trip today. Make people around you jealous of your impressions and memories. Hanna from Poland.”
It was overall great experience. Tourist guide was polite friendly and patient. He find ways to make time fully enjoyable. Really appreciate his hospitality.
Really amazing views, and wildlife! Dolphins, whales, and kangaroos all in one day! Really fun and friendly guides too!
Well spent day: nice tour with a good balance of travelling and enjoying the views. Super friendly guide, attentive to the needs and giving good recommendations of experiences to enjoy in every stop.
Was a good experience. Should bear some cover up for boat, it’s pretty windy. Beaches were great. Small group, very nice guide
Really good experience! Michael, our guide, was super nice, helpful, and did his best to adjust the program to our needs due to bad weather. Perfect! I would definitely book with this company again! 🙏🏼
Be on time as timings are followed meticulously (which is very good) The tour guide (James) was very friendly and polite. He also seems to be a pretty skilled photographer! A hassle free experience thanks to him
I joined this one-day tour, and it was absolutely amazing! We were lucky enough to see dolphins up close, which was such a thrilling experience. Then, we explored the stunning Australian wildlife and even spotted kangaroos in their natural habitat. The highlight of the trip was definitely Jervis Bay—breathtaking beaches, crystal-clear water, and a truly relaxing atmosphere. The tour was well-organized, and the guide was knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure!
A fantastic day out. You see some amazing beaches with such white sand to lay back in. The boat ride is a must and with any luck will spot one or two dolphins. Maciel was a great guide, kept us on track and got us to each site with time to spare.
This tour was great! Our guide Mac, brought us to all the spots mentioned in the description and also to some extra spots. The highlight for me was the wild kagaroos at Cave beach! Great tour, I would definitely recommend it!

Today we went on our second tour with Mate Tours and it was absolutely amazing! First time we went it was to Jervis Bay in January this year for my birthday and they even surprised me with cheesecake 🥳 and today we went to Blue Mountains… how incredible 😍 Thank you to Maikel, James and Aurelio for the great service 😊🥰
It was a great day loved the dolphins and the hikes to the different beaches. Mac even took us to see the light house and blowhole
It was a good full day trip, fun time, great places we stopped at, we saw dolphins during the cruise, the food was so yummy and the guides were super nice and friendly. Not giving you 5 stars just because the bus was so uncomfortable to be for long hours travelling. But
Great trip! Longer than I realized. I thought it was a 2 hour get away, but it was 3 hours one way. Lunch was grand! We asked for vegetarian options and the salads and veggies were very tasty. Highly recommend.
Our tour guide was Michael and he was great. Very friendly and conversational with everyone - especially my husband who had lots to say. His Aussie BBQ was very good and the beaches very relaxing.
Very long boring bus ride to and from a lovely place. The bay cruise with lots of dolphin sightings was great. The following excursion, not so much. If you are looking for three hours in the company of strangers on a beach with limited amenities and no planned activities, you’ll be happy. If you were hoping for any information from the guides about the area, geography, local wildlife, or history, you won’t be. The barbecue was tasty, though.
Amazing tour! It was a very well planned and value for money tour. Dolphin cruise was nice, as well as the BBQ lunch and the beach hopping afterwards.
It was really a wonderful day with full sun. We had a good Brazilian BBQ with our nice guides James and Giovanna. We were lucky seeing a few dolphins and so beautiful colours at Jervis bay with so amazing beaches.
Dolphin search, barbecue and time at the beach. Gabriel was a good guide. The coach trip was quite long but unavoidable.
James our tour guide from Mate Tours exceeded our expectations. He was so polite and courteous and went out of his way to make sure everyone was ok. He also cooked a wonderful bbq lunch which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. We highly recommend Mate Tours and will definitely use them again for other tours. Kind regards Suman
Fabulous day out, excellent value for money. Picked up by Gabriel and James, on time and 18 of us headed to Jervis bay. Lovely journey. Boat trip was amazing and we saw lots of dolphins ( very lucky that day) however boat trip was lovely in any case. Had a great bbq, cooked by James and food was delicious. Plenty of water, pop and food (we all had seconds) We stayed at the first beach but you could walk to a further 2 beaches within 25 mins. Journey back good, got back at 7.15pm and James and Gabriel were great guides. All in all a fabulous day 👍
The tour guides and the lunch they made for us was amazing.. The highlight though was been able to see so many dolphins in the water swimming alongside our boat. I am a local Sydney sider and never been to Jervis Bay before. I highly recommend this tour to everyone, including the locals.
A great experience organised through M8 tours with the magnificent James as our guide down to Jervis Bay. The crew on board the boat were friendly and knowledgeable, and it was a real treat to have the dolphins swim alongside the boat. We'll worth the trip
