An amazing day. We started off as a mini bus full of strangers but soon became a fun filled winery tour family. Our driver, John was full of interesting chat & information & knowledgeable about wines. The first stop at Saddler’s creek Winery was our highlight of the day. An amazing experience in terms of tasting info, stories & setting. We then headed to Hanging Wines and slough we enjoyed this the first stop set the bar high!!we then had a fantastic lunch at a golf resort. Really impressed at the quality & settling. Our lat winery (Ernest Hill Wines) was our least favourite. Wines not chilled, all served in a small, thick glass & little time to enjoy each wine. A quick stop at Cheese tasting & Chocalatier made up for this. A great introduction to the Hunter Valley & this tour was a highlight.

This Trip to Hunter Valley is Great Value for the Money! We visited 3 Wineries, had Lots of Tastings- along with Cheese Tastings- and it included Lunch. Patricia was our Driver/Tour Guide- very Knowledgeable, Caring…and with a quirky sense of humour. Thank You, Patricia.
The tour is wonderful with a lot of nice spot to see at Hunter Valley. The Guide Tony was very nice. The wines were good to taste.
Our driver for the trip was Stuart and got to say he was fantastic. Knowledgeable and funny. I have lived in Sydney for almost 2 years and some of the facts he had surprised even me. I would definitely want him as our driver if I did a coach trip to Hunter again. The day was a blast and my family loved it. Thanks Stu for the amazing experience.
Excellent tour of Hunter Valley from Sydney with 3 wine tasting's and 1 cheese maker stops. Tasting's are informative and enjoyable with the opertunity to enjoy the wines made in the region.
Fabulous trip. Great wine tastings. Nice lunch stop. Comfortable mini van with only 11 of us. Friendly tour guide. Can highly recommend.
It all started with a 7am start meeting our driver / guide Raphael. Plenty of information given by Raphael on route with a comfort break planned in too. Off again to HV and it did not disappoint, despite the weather being very rainy at times. Saddlers Creek, Hanging Tree & Ernest Hills formed part of the Wine Tour from Sydney with Lunch at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and cheese tasting added too.. What a day, my sister & I had a fantastic experience and a big thanks to Raphael for looking after us.. p.s, we also got to see loads of Kangaroos as part of the day… Thank you again James & Jen…
We visited wine country from Sydney. The trip was very enjoyable. It is a bit of a ride to get there about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. We visited two wineries in the morning and one in the afternoon. We had a nice lunch at a country club and an informative cheese tasting. The wine stops were each unique which was nice, each with its own personality. We really enjoyed that. Wineries visited vary so I won’t go into individual details but each was fun. We also got to see wild kangaroos in the vineyards which was awesome Nigel our guide was excellent
Had a great girls day out, we visited 3 wineries, cheese and chocolate factory and had a yummy lunch. Our driver was Nigel. He was friendly, engaging and gave us the days itinerary before heading out. Would highly recommend.
We enjoyed the wine valley tour. Nigel was great, very knowledgeable and made sure we didn’t miss anything.
And we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to three winery and a cheese factory in the Hunter Valley. We tasted some Felipe’s wines and cheeses. Lunch was great too. Raphael kept us well informed of activities in general and what to expect, on schedule and great driver. We highly recommend this tour.
Had a fantastic day touring the Hunter Valley, Jeff was a great guide and took us to some wonderful family owned wineries. Was a great day with an unexpected choccie stop. Highly recommend, wonderful day, wonderful wines and great company, meeting new people from across the globe 😁
It was relaxing and fun. Tour guide was super nice, explained to the group where we were going ahead of time, was kind and helpful.
The driver and guide named Ben was a very friendly and knowledgeable person. He did a little extra and in the winery area, took us to see the kangaroos in the fields. (He didn't have to go far). All the wineries are small businesses that had a very local feel to them. Their products are good. I recommend them.
This is a great tour! Tour director/driver was great! Wineries had lots of variety, so something for every taste. Lunch was in a country club with great food. I would rather have another winery in place of the cheese tasting, but others may like a break on the alcohol. This is a change of pace from normal sightseeing at a reasonable price.
Had a great time!!! Visited 3 wineries, 1 cheese maker and 1 chocolate maker. The lunch was excellent!!! Even saw kangaroos wandering between the vines. Our guide Jeff was great!!!
Very good tour , Toni was our driver and guide , he did an excellent narration of the history and culture of the region , I became a connoisseur of wines after this tour lol … 3 wineries and 1 cheese factory , the lunch provided on the tour was quite good and ample
Great wines, lovely wineries, hosts eager to share knowledge and great settings to sample the wines and cheese. We had a good crowd, great sunny day and a top driver Rafael
Overall tour was very good, the wineries were great and the lunch was very good. However not impressed with the driver, he continuously was checking his emails and texts, along with trying to watch you tube videos while driving.
This was a nice tour of the wine region nearest Sydney. It was a 2+ hour drive to get there, but the driver (Steve) did a good job of providing interesting narrative of some of Australia's history and background about the wine industry in Australia. The wineries tasting rooms were all nice (they call them Cellar doors) and the hosts all provided interesting info about the wines and their processes. Lunch at the resort was nice, with options to sit inside or out. The stop at the cheese factory was probably not needed, as it was right after lunch. All-in-all, it was a pleasant day trip for wine lovers.
Very disappointed - we had booked this tour months ago for the two of us, got up early and made our way to the meeting point. Arrived in good time, but were told they only had one adult booked and no room on the bus for us both. Somewhere along the line our two booking turned into one. A great way to stuff up our only day in Sydney! Very, very unhappy.
Good wines but driver was late to start and his goal was to insult everyone equally. He did some good things such as finding a large group of kangaroos.
Beautiful and comfortable drive to Hunter Valley. Educational, nice variety of white and red, excellent lunch and kangaroo sightings!
Tony the guide/ driver was great. Choice of cellars was nice & lunch was yummy. Cheese factory was a pleasant surprise :)
What fun! Three lovely wineries with well-guided wine tastings through various types of wine produced from very knowledgeable wine makers. Appreciate these were smaller family owned wineries, not the mass produced wine you can get anywhere. Lunch was lovely as well, at a nice golf club, with several choices and, of course, wine. The cheese tasting was phenomenal—8 cheeses each more delicious than the other. There was a special stop, sort of unplanned, for those with a sweet tooth. Driver was funny, a dry sense of humor, but very knowledgeable about Sydney and the wine region. If you have the chance to take the tour, definitely go. It would have been great to get a fourth winery on the schedule, but the long 2.5 hour drive just to get there makes that impossible.
Brilliant day out in the Hunter Valley made especially enjoyable by our fantastic tour guide, Scotty. He was friendly, funny, knowledgeable and he did everything in his power to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. Thank you!
This tour is incredible!! Highly recommend to anyone wanting a great day trip to the hunter, however what made the experience 100 times better was our amazing tour guide Scott. He had so many stores and interesting facts that kept you entertained for the whole trip. He also asks how you like your trips and caters to everyone’s needs. All around he was an amazing bloke and would love to have him on a tour again. 10/10 !!!
Our driver, Jeff was such a gem! He took great care of us all. The trip felt like an old friend bringing us for an adventure. The places we went were nothing short of fantastic! Understanding the humble beginnings of the winery sector in Australia and tasting different kinds of wine in a single day trip - an experience I would recommend anyone who loves wine or are keen to explore! Don't give Jeff a hard time I'm warning you lot! Oh and kangaroos!
We had an amazing time! Perfect amount of stops and time for a wine tour. We saw lots of kangaroos and the lunch was wonderful for the value we paid.
One - late pickup Two - then drove around downtown Sydney for an hour looking for a couple that was too stupid to read their confirmation. Three - packed like sardines into a van. A/C was hit/miss, microphone didn't work well - and if you got on after the first pickup point, you had to sit separate from your partner. In addition - seat had a safety bar next to it - every time you hit a bump in the road, you rammed into it. Four - all three wineries concentrated on white wines - primarily Semillon. I wish we had known that before we booked it. The Semillon was watery and essentially tasteless. Five - lunch was at a golf club. If you have difficulties with stairs, this is not the tour for you - no lift. Six - lunch was pretty good Seven - The cheese factory stop was after lunch - no one really had any appetite for cheese by then. Eight - didn't feel like the guide had anything to tell us about the area. Kind of boring
It was amazing! Steve was such a funny and great guide, Hunter Valley is beautiful and the group was great too. I had a super duper great day, I can absolutely recommend it! Only thing I'd change is offer a free water bottle on the bus, we got water at the Vineyards but an own water bottle would be nice. Other than that, it was perfect! Found some new wines that I will definitely order when I'm back home
Jeff was our guide, driver and zoo keeper. We had a great group of fellow wine tasters that quickly became friends. Jeff kept us somewhat in line. Good choice of wine, cheeses and chocolates. I highly recommend this tour.
A very very good trip. Perfect. It’s a good way to escape from Sydney. The Food and wines to try were very good. All the people of the tour were very very kind especialy the guide. A lot of interesting réflexions
Just back from the Hunter valley tour! Had the best time , our tour guide Jim couldn’t be better , lots of knowledge of Sydney & Hunter valley, super helpful & friendly 🙂 the tour was well organised with lots of stops & a lovely lunch too , would recommend
I enjoyed my time in The Hunter Valley .The driver was very friendly and helpful .Tge countryside is very beautiful and it was great to try the wineries .The lunch was delicious .Perhaps the cheese tasting could have been more extensive , just two types of cheese and $5.00 for a greater choice .Overall a great day .
The driver was funny, made our trip enjoyable and pass the travel time with much fun. The tour is both educational and relaxing. The Three Cellar Wines we visited are Instagram worthy and the lunch is awesome!
Oh my God,Adam was so much fun,he was a wonderful host and he had the best music, the best!!! The “best”tour,I’ve been on.He was so knowledgeable and I learned,so much. You need to give him a big big raise and bonus. He’s such an asset to your company.
My wife and I took this wine tour to Hunter Valley from Sydney which proved to be quite a drive (close to 3 hrs each way) but very interesting as we had Scotty as our driver and guide and he proved to be extremely entertaining and friendly. He gave us stories, be they historical, geological or even personal almost all the way and they were very interesting, educational and funny. We visited three wineries that were all unique in their own way and then a cheese factory before heading to lunch, all of which were very good. Except for the heavy traffic on the way back due to an accident, the tour proved to be very good. Highly recommended and hope you get Scotty as your driver and guide.
Waited at pick up point 15 mins prior to pick up and 15 mins after - no pick up. Phoned and was told that driver had been there and we were not there! We were definitely there as Mercure hotel staff would confirm I’m sure as I went in twice to confirm that we were on the correct street. Several other tours picked up there and I spoke to each - not our tour. Asked about a refund - no they do not give refunds! Appalling!! So disappointed as we were looking forward to tour but certainly wouldn’t go with this operator ever again
My friend and I had an amazing day! When we got picked up the driver (Jason) was very welcoming and kind. He is a great person with a lot of humour, we've laughed all day because of his jokes and phrases. The tasting was very versatile, there were 3 different wine yards and all with different kinds of wine. That especially was nice because everybody found something for their taste. The wines were delicious, for me especially the first wine yard stood out because of it's subtle flavours. Thanks for the lovely day!
Transportation to Hunter Valley is prompt and comfortable. Each seat provides more than adequate leg room and a tray table for convenient snacking. Please note, only a small drink cup fits in the drink holder. Restroom/snack stops are included in travel time from Sydney to Hunter Valley. Although it was a lengthy ride, our driver’s quick witted sense of humor and expensive knowledge of trivia (Australian and otherwise) definitely made the time pass rather nicely. Hunter Valley was only my second wine tasting experience at a vineyard, but the Australians love their alcohol. The tour took us to 3 vineyards. We received 7 tasting pours at Constable Vineyards, 6 at Savannah Estate and another 7 at Mount View Estate. Coincidentally, the tasting ended with a fortified dessert wine. It was the cherry on top! The tour also includes a cheese & chocolate tasting, with a moderate, but satisfying lunch soon after at the Hunter Valley Garden Cafe. A vital detail not included when purchasing tickets is the length of the activity. Our pick up was at 7:15am. We didn’t arrive back to drop off point until 6:00pm. In case you have a tight itinerary, keep that in mind. Though it was a full day, who could say no to drinking wine all day with your best friend? I would definitely head back.
Went on this tour with a bunch of my girlfriends and family for my hens party, so glad we did! Highly recommend Donna, great vibes and so lovely! Can’t recommend Donna enough!
My girlfriend and I had an amazing day! We visited a number of different wineries, distilleries, cellar doors and even a chocolate factory for something a little extra! The lunch was amazing and a really good serving. Paul our tour guide was a really great guy, very knowledgable and made the day very easy with plenty of laughs - cheers mate!
Had an absolute fabulous day out with Wildlife Tours. Our Tour Guide Paul has been outstanding and gave always 110%. We visit a Chocolate Factory, a Spirit Destillation and two Vineyards. I can definitely recommend to do a day trip to Hunter Valley with this guys!
I had a great day with Flinders and Wildlife Tours. We packed a lot in - delicious chocolates, interesting and tasty vodka, liquors, and gins, a great lunch (plus a bonus wine tasting and a good brewery), and a couple good wineries. Every part of this was a fun, tasty, and even educational. I highly recommend it if you're looking to check out the Hunter Valley!
I went with 3 friends of mine to Hunter Valley yesterday. We really enjoyed this day with our tour guide Paul! He was super lovely and really enthusiastic! The chocolate was absolutely delicious, after that we had an Vodka tasting and this was amazing as well! The last two stops were two super cute vineyards and we had a lot of wine that we could taste and they were really good! In short, we had an amazing day and I would recommend this trip to everyone!
Had a fantastic day out with Kelly and Wildlife Tours. Kelly was an excellent guide with great knowledge and good banter. We tried a really good selection of wines and Kelly helped us with our purchasing decisions based on our preferences so that we didn't just buy the first wine that we liked. All of the wineries we visited were excellent, lunch was delicious and I finished the day pretty drunk which is always a good sign of a quality wine tour. 10/10 would recommend.
I just came back from my tour and I really had the best day ever. First stop: absolutely delicious chocolate tasting at a local factory next vodka tasting with interesting flavours that were surprisingly delicious and an affordable and fantastic gift/memory that could be purchased on site. Both wineries we visited were fantastic we tasted numerous different wines and learned a lot about the wine making and the region. Lunch for 20 dollars was really fancy and delicious. Our guide was a Sydney local and made the drive real fun - we even crossed the sydney Harbour Bridge on our way there and back! :) I mean chocolate vodka wine of exceptional local quality - what is not to love about this fabulous tour?!
We went on this trip on Sunday and had a fantastic day. I lost count of how many wines we got to try and they even tailor made the wines we tried to our groups preference, we opted for the more fruity one. There were lots of solo travellers on the group and our guide Kellie made sure she got involved and got everyone chatting. The chocolate tasting and liquor tasting was a nice added extra and the lunch was so good, I expected a pre-made sandwich like on most trip but this was a full sit down meal, I recommend the lamb :) If you are heading to the Hunter Valley and want to drink wine I 100% recommend this tour.
I'm just back from my trip to Hunter Valley and all I can say is that it's a really good value of money!! We could taste sooo many different vodka, chocolate and wine (for sure :P ) Visited 3 wineries, extended my knowledge about the different wine types and had a really fancy lunch in a nice restaurant! For $ 20 extra u can choose between 6 meals (vegan & vegetarian option too) with a glass of wine served. The guide was also super nice! Can highly recommend this tour to have an awesome day around Sydney!
