Scott was very knowledgeable and made our first day in Sydney memorable. We are grateful that he worked with our schedule and interests. Feeding the animals and seeing the Blue Mountains was a great way to kick off our trip here. We also went to a great cafe for lunch. I would highly recommend this experience!!!
Scott was a wonderful tour guide and very knowledgeable about all the sites we saw. He obtained the tickets to all the sites we visited and tailored the tour to our liking. One of the highlights was feeding the kangaroos and see the baby kangaroos in the mother's pouches.
Perfect day with Scott as our tour guide — I recommend him without hesitation! Scott planned every detail of our visit to the Blue Mountains and shared a wealth of information about the history, culture, and landscape of Sydney and the surrounding areas. Our day began at Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park, where Scott guided us through the highlights and explained animal behavior and native species. He also took photos for us so we didn’t miss a moment — he captured our amazement while interacting with the kangaroos. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in Leura, and Scott suggested a stop for fresh chocolate — some of the best I’ve ever had. Afterward we rode the world’s steepest railway, walked through the valley, and took the cable car across the Jamison Valley. At scenic lookouts, Scott pointed out features of the mountains and shared more insights about the region’s geography and wildlife. I had an outstanding experience and will absolutely call Scott again when I return to Australia.
We'd heard great things about Scott and Sydney Private Tours from a good friend of ours that did tours with them right after COVID. They raved about the stop in Featherdale Wildlife Park and their knowledge of the area. Well, everything they said about Scott and Julia was absolutely correct! Scott worked with us to get my wife's entire bucket list filled. She got to feed kangaroos, pet koalas and see the fantastic sights in the Blue Mountains. Scott picked us up at our hotel and gave us remarkable insights into Australia, its history and its scenic wonders. His knowledge of the area was complete and he was able to answer all of our questions. Living in this part of Australia all of his life has given him some marvelous insights into the history of Australia as well. Scott's vehicle was an SUV so having some mobility issues isn't a problem. Several times during the trip he tried to limit the amount of back-and-forth walking that we had to do. Scott did such a great job that we hired him to show us the Half Day Highlights when our cruise ship docked in Sydney in February. This tour is definitely the best way to see the Sydney area. I would highly recommend it.
Scott was knowledgeable and helpful. Having the option to spend extra time in places (like stopping for chocolate and ice cream in Leura or spending extra time feeding kangaroos) made the private tour the best option for us. Would do again and would highly recommend to others.

What a wonderful day we had with Scott. He was so great showing us the animals at Featherdale and took great pictures and videos there and at the Blue Mountains. You should book any of his tours.
We had a great time at Featherdale viewing and interacting with the animals. The Blue Mountains are beautiful! We also went to other wonderful viewpoints. Scenic World also has beautiful views. Riding the train and cable cars was an added bonus. Our guide was very friendly and informative. We are very glad we chose to do a private tour with just the two of us.
This was an amazing tour. Everything was beautiful and completely worth going. You couldn't ask for a better tour guide than Scott. He knew his stuff, was super friendly, and knew all the little ins and outs of the tour to make the most of it. This is a fully inclusive price, Scott even bought our lunch at a great bakery. Never had a tour guide actual buy our lunch before.
My husband and I had a fabulous day with Scott! We went to the Blue Mountains and Featherdale and a few other stops. I loved feeding the kangaroos and have a picture with a koala. He also took the lead when we were in the Blue Mountains so he would see a snake first because I hate snakes. Luckily, we didn't see any! He took us to a small town restaurant that had the best meat pies! The town also had a chocolate shop that's worth the stop! He is very knowledgeable and entertaining. This is a small business so it doesn't have the volume of reviews but I highly recommend them over a big group tour. Thanks Scott for a memorable day!
Scott was an EXCELLENT tour guide! He really made our day very enjoyable. He first took us to a great picture point of the Sydney Opera House and Bridge in the morning that we hadn't heard of. He gave us some great insight about Sydney and the sights we say throughout the day. He went above and beyond and helped guide us through Featherdale Wildlife park - he got us food for the kangaroos, gave us information about all the animals, took pictures and videos of us feeding and interacting with the animals. He took us to a great lunch spot which had delicious meat pies! We then went to Scenic World and saw amazing views of Three Sisters and other rock formations. He even took us to one of Sydney's Oldest Pubs at the end of the day - the Hero at Waterloo. We really enjoyed this tour and Scott made it even better! Definitely worth the price for what you get!!
What an amazing day with Scott!!! He greeted us at our hotel and we quickly were quickly made comfortable. Scott’s knowledge of Australia was fantastic. Our tour of the Blue Mountains and Featherdale could not have been more enjoyable. He was also the photographer so we could really enjoy the sights. I HIGHLY recommend booking with him as not only was he knowledge, he was so kind and made our journey spectacular.
Our private tour with Scott was FANTASTIC. The Blue Mountains were beautiful and the whole day was memorable because of the sights, experiences and Scott's knowledge. My husband and I loved feeding the kangaroos and seeing the koalas at Featherdale. We enjoyed every stop we made. The tour was the right pace; we were able to see a lot but never felt rushed. Scott took pictures and sent them to us which we really appreciated.
This was a amazing day trip. Starting with being picked up at the cruise terminal by Scott. After showing us around Sydney we were off to the Featherdale Wildlife Park. It is a must see for the different animals. It was an unexpected treat to have food for the Kangaroos and having our picture taken with a koala. Then off to the Blue Mountains. We were amazed of all that was included in the tour including food to feed the animals, pictures with a Koala, lunch and all the entrance fees in the Blue Mountains. Scott even took amazing photos and videos of the trip. Overall the trip was exceptional and we highly recommend it.
What a fantastic tour of the Blue Mountains! The trip started off with a pickup at the doorstep of our hotel in a spacious comfortable SUV. We got a brief tour around Sydney with stops for pictures and some history. Next we spent some time Featherdale Animal Park feeding Kangaroos and seeing some great animals. Next, we stopped at some ridge points that gave us perfect views of the Blue Mountains and great photos. After a quick lunch we were off to Scenic World to ride gondola cars and take in panoramic shots. This tour is a MUST DO in Sydney, as Scott was the ultimate host/guide.
Great communication, extremely knowledgeable, very well organized, comfortable car and commodities, super safe and Scott is an espectacular person.
Wow - what a day! Incredible wildlife experiences, beautiful nature and a wonderful tour guide (Scott) sensitive to our interests!
Scott was an excellent tour guide. A native Sydney sider, he knows where all of the best vantage points are around the city for photos of the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. He is also a compelling story teller and provided us with many stories about life in Sydney. The drive up to the Blue Mountains was interesting and the stop at the Featherdale Animal park was a lot of fun and included feeding the animals. His vehicle was very comfortable and roomy. The day was most enjoyable and all of our expectations were exceeded. We highly recommend Scott and Sydney Private Tours.
I had read many of the outstanding reviews of this tour operator and I must say having experienced the tour that my expectations were surpassed in every way imaginable. Scott arrived on time and at first whisked away to an excellent photo opportunity with unbelievable views of the Sydney Harbor. While on the way to the off the beaten path, he shared with us the history of Sydney while pointing out the numerous landmarks throughout the city. This was only the beginning, followed shortly by the wonderful experience at Featherdale, followed by a break at a local restaurant for lunch and then on to the Blue Mountains for its Along the way, Scott took tons of pictures as my camera had a low battery and was trying to conserve battery life. He also provided a link to the photos almost shortly after our tour concluded. This is a tour that is well worth it and a guide that I will not soon forget he nor the experience. I was so enamored from the experience that I asked for another tour the next day. Sadly he was unavailable and I understand why. Thanks again Scott!
An excellent tour guiede. All our expectatioms were overwhelmwed despite weatrhe conditions. All went with not a single hitch.
If you are in Sydney and want a private tour look no further. Scott was amazing he listened to what we wanted and managed to fulfil our needs. No queuing and moving quickly but seeing all the sights and recommended to places we would never of known He is extremely knowledgeable about Sydney and he is one of the best tour guides we have used. Call Scott he is amazing
I can’t say enough good things about our day with Scott in the Blue Mountains and Featherdale wildlife park. Scott is one of the best guides we have ever had. He had so much information to share and tailored our day perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed Featherdale and feeding the kangaroos. It was amazing to be able to be so close to them. The Blue Mountains were beautiful and the steepest train ride was great fun. I highly recommend this tour.
We had such great experience with Scott he’s professional and he’s doing his job with a lot of pleasure and passion. It was actually my birthday and he made it A memorable one. He truly enjoys what he does and I think that’s what made our experience so great. He took us to so many wonderful places and even a great lunch spot that I will never forget. If you’re looking to have fun and be guided by a person who genuinely enjoys what they’re doing you found the right place. His wife Julia bake us cookies which were so delicious. This is a great team and You or to your self to experience the blue mountains and all that Sydney has to offer with people who genuinely care.🙏
We were picked up promptly at 7:30am in a spacious and comfortable vehicle by our guide Scott. This enabled us to get to Featherdale Wildlife park early and really enjoy the Australian animals on display at their best. Scott took some excellent photos and footage of this experience which we enjoyed far more than we anticipated. Our tour carried on to the Blue Mountains but unfortunately the weather deteriorated so that we could not take in Scenic World. Nevertheless we had an enjoyable lunch and drive in this beautiful area with our guide being very knowlegeable on where to go. By way of compensation for the mist covered views we returned early to Sydney and he took us around the city pointing out areas of interest which we would not have visited otherwise. He was a most entertaining guide who made an enjoyable and successful day for us. We also appreciated receiving emails ahead of our departure from the UK updating us on the impact of the bush fires and alleviating any concerns we might otherwise have had about proceeding with the tour. A very thoughtful and helpful company to do business with.
Nick arrived promptly at the designated pickup time at our hotel. He offered us water, and ensured the air temperature, as well as the radio were to our liking, in the beautiful Audi SUV. He explained our itinerary for the full-day tour. After easily navigating the Monday morning rush hour in Sydney, we were on our way to our first exciting stop: Featherdale Wildlife Park. Due to arriving before 9am, we witnessed many of the animals being fed, and just waking up for the day. An added benefit of being so early: there were NO CROWDS! We were the only ones in the very interactive kangaroo experience, being allowed to feed them, pet them, and take photos; all while being inside their fenced-in area, which is allowed. Our guide mentioned the kangaroos are not as interactive later in the day, so we were happy we were there early. We also saw koalas, crocodiles, and Dingos! Our following stops included “secret” panoramic viewing areas only accessible via small dirt roads, as well as an early century mountaintop hotel for coffee. After having a “Pie” for lunch at a great bakery, we were off to Scenic World. Once again, because we toured on a Monday, there were almost no queues to wait for the three exciting attractions, which immerse you in the stunning landscapes of the rainforest, mountains, cliffs and waterfalls. In total, we saw the popular “Three Sisters” from three different viewing angles. After a total of almost TEN stops, we were on our mid-afternoon journey back to Sydney. Nick also offered one additional stop near our hotel for a quick photo from a different perspective of the Sydney Harbor Bridge, Opera House, and downtown skyline. We highly recommend this private tour. We especially loved the secret panoramic viewing spots as well as the flexibility to modify the planned stops.
Let me start this review by saying that weather affected what we could see and do, but in that light we still had an amazing 5-star trip thanks to Scott and Sydney private day tours. First Scott was right on time to pick us up at the Sydney Harbor Marriott. He had a large Toyota SUV and with 4 of us traveling it was full. His mini van had a mechanical issue so we had to sit 3 in the back seat of the SUV. For a 4 people tour I would recommend a 3 row seating setup like you find in mini-vans. We coped fine, but it was tight. Our first stop was at Featherdale Wildlife park. We got there early and beat the buses which allowed us to feed and interact with animals not dulled by a day filled with tourists. This place was amazing and was really focused on NATIVE animals. we got to handle Koalas, pet Wombats and fed Wallabies and Kangaroos. The bird life present was amazing. Scott also took pictures and has already dropped them to us! We spent a good 2-3 hours there and were really amazed at the diversity. Scott provided snacks and drinks. From there we proceeded to lookouts at 2 different Blue Mountain locale's , but were disappointed with extremely foggy conditions. Scott chose to take us to lunch at a traditional Aussie restaurant off the beaten path. This was included in the tour(Though not indicated so on the Trip Advisor ticket). That food was very good and was enjoyable. After lunch we tried again with the Blue Mountains, but fog was too heavy. On the fly Scott decided to save our day by giving us the most amazing tour of Sydney. We had done the "hop on hop off tour" and found out how limited it was after Scott took us around. He took us to the Naval Base and the "original Meat Pie " Restaurant there. We went to Mrs. McQuarsey's chair and park, 3 locations along the Harbor with the most amazing views of Sydney and gave us a complete history and description of the Harbor area. All this is why we give this trip a 5 star rating. Scott made the tour and we are 90% sure that we will take individual tours going forward despite their expense. Considering the high cost we do think there needs to be a note about weather issues and how that would impact the tour. The trip advisor page says that the following is included: "Entry Fees to the world Cable Car and scenic railway". Due to weather we could not do this, though we went by the location. All fees related to the Blue mountains were included but due to the fog we could not do any of these. I'm not sure that there were fees for all attractions, like admission to the national parks, but due to fog we just lost out on this part of the tour and we understand that. The trip advisor ticket includes fees to an Aboriginal Cultural Show and performance. That company had gone out of business and should not have been included as a feature. Scott took us to an old Aussie pub and bought us beers and wine at the end which was not mentioned in the inclusions. We recognize that weather can screw a tour and fortunately weather in Sydney was quite different than in the Mountains. Scott MADE this tour a great one despite those conditions. The value of what we paid for this day was not great because of weather, but Scott managed to save this day and make the money we spent worth it.Scott also communicated with us before the tour keeping us apprised of the fire situations.
Scott was one of the best tour guides I have had anywhere. He was friendly and so knowledgeable. He was enthusiastic and showed us amazing sights and shared such great experiences. I’ll never forget how exciting it was to feed kangaroos! Scott also took us for a delicious Australian meat pie lunch. Scott went all out for us and made our day in the Blue Mountains a great day and one we’ll never forget.
Scott was very personable and accommodating. A few days before our tour we were apprised of the fire situation and its potential impact on our trip. Contrary to the media, the area of our tour was not affected. We had a beautiful day for our time in the Blue Mountains. In addition to taking our own pictures, Scott had a camera as well and took many pictures of the two of us at various attractions. At one point my husband wanted to take a different hike than I was up for so Scott adjusted the itinerary to accommodate both of us. We had a great time and were able to enjoy our time in the Blue Mountain area.
We had booked the Blue Mountain tour but due to the fires we were unable to go there. Julia did give us a very good tour of Sydney and the Featherdale Wildlife Park. She was very personable and knowledgeable of the area and its history. While we were disappointed to miss the Blue Mountains, Julia ensured we had an enjoyable day.
We had a wonderful tour with Scott. Incredibly personable and knowledgeable... it could not have been more enjoyable or insightful. He truly takes the time to identify your preferences and customizes the day to your interests. We love to hike and he knew exactly what to recommend. I am definitely highly recommending to my adult children visiting soon that booking any tour with Scott should be a “must” on their travel plans. Impeccable service and lovely experience!
Thanks to Scott for the Blue Mountains tour! Amazing Blue Mountain views, delightful time sharing homemade cookies with cockatoos and meeting kangaroos & koalas! I highly recommend Sydney Day Tours to help make your holiday most special!
My wife and I booked the Blue Mountains Luxury Private Tour with Scott. Thoroughly enjoyed our time with Scott. Extremely knowledgeable of the region and easily shares his experiences. Everything is inclusive in the price of the tour, including all entry tickets to the various attractions, plus lunch. And best of all is you won't have to wait behind the bus tours to gain entry, Scott will whisk you right to the front. If you want to learn more in a single day versus riding in the bus and listening to the tour guide talk to 40 people, book with Scott. It's like spending the day with family. His vehicle was very comfortable and sight-lines were excellent. The Australian bush fires were active in the mountains during our tour, but we still enjoyed the limited views. The trip to Featherdale was fantastic, we got to play with and feed the Kangaroos and pet a Koala. We finished with a city tour. Highly recommend this tour.
Julia and Scott went above and beyond in providing us with an excellent tour of the Blue Mountains. We accidentally booked the wrong date and they moved their entire schedules around to accommodate us on the same day. Julia escorted us and we were able to play with wild cockatoos, do all the tours, had a great local lunch and finished the day with a tour of the absolutely charming Featherdale sanctuary. Throughout the tour, Julia showed us her Australia full of trivia and history. We left with memories of the special day all because they turned a potential disaster into a success. We would use them again for any of their tours around Australia.
This is one of the most difficult reviews I have written, simply because I feel I would be reiterating the many excellent reviews. However the purpose of a review is to help others make decisions about which company to use. We have used private tour guides in many countries but this company is undoubtedly the most efficient, thoughtful, considerate and professional I have ever encountered. They have excellent vehicles, they think out of the box e g. Included was all entry fees, lunch, snacks, even animal feed to enable feeding of kangaroos etc. If one is a single visitor they will only charge you the single fee unlike many others who dictate minimum numbers or who cancel because they have not enough numbers consequently leaving one stuck at the last minute. They go the extra mile as amply illustrated in the reviews. Thank you Scott and Julie for giving us one of the most memorable days in our travelling lives.
My wife and I couldn't have wished for a better day. Scott picked us up at 0730 and we headed straight to the Mountains to avoid the bus tours. Scott's knowledge of everything was excellent, even down to where to get the best pies from and which Kangeroos to hand feed. Worth every penny and we would definitely use the company again
Our family had the best time on this tour. Scott picked us up and drove us to the Blue Mountains and led us to all the great views and walking trails. We then had tea with wild cockatoos and a delicious lunch in a very quaint mountain town. Another highlight for us was the up close and personal encounter with kangaroos at the wild animal park. Every activity was beautifully planned, but not limited to a set time schedule. We were able to wander around and really take in the places we visited. I highly recommend this tour for anyone...our older “tween” boy had a great time as well and they can be hard to please;)
My family (we from thailand)took a tour on the 15th of October to the Blue Mountain. It was a clear day. Scott takes great care. As well as helping to take beautiful photos as well Before leaving, we stopped at the zoo, my daughter loved it. Good service, friendly, very impressed. We recommend everyone to come and not disappoint. If there is a chance, will definitely come back to use the service
This was a great tour. We were able to set the pace as my husband has some mobility difficulty. Scott was a great escort and very knowledgeable about the area. He also took some great photos of our day and this was a really nice added bonus. I highly recommend this tour. It was wonderful to not feel rushed at any of our stops.
Our family of 4 booked this truly private tour and it was top notch from start to finish. It started when I was enquiring for information via email : I received solid information immediately (vs. other tour companies who responded back days later). On the day we were picked up at our hotel in Bondi beach so again excellent service vs other tours where we had to go to downtown location. Scott our tour guide and co-owner made sure we got all the info in a casual way and also was interested in our lives. Other recommendation : when in Leura please visit Josaphan's chocolates / their chocolates are just out of this world.... Thanks Scott and Julia for your great 'small company' passion !
Can’t speak highly enough of this trip. 5 stars underestimates the attention to detail that Scott provided. Everything is included - unlike other tour operators. BEWARE..there are others out there who promise a lot but don’t deliver. Scott’s knowledge of the area is very impressive. We loved the wildlife park, the world’s steepest train ride, and of course the views of the Three Sisters. Highly recommended. Thanks for a great day. Noel and Natasha.
My husband and I were fortunate to book Scott for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. The Blue Mountains are exceptionally beautiful, but can be crowded as well as a bit confusing to navigate for someone from another country who is trying to fit in a lot during a relatively short visit to Australia. Scott used his insider knowledge to shepherd us to the perfect spot at exactly the right time to see and experience the many special features of this UNESCO World Heritage Area. We additionally got to hold and feed wild sulphur-crested cockatoos in a picnic area; ate lunch and shopped in the charming little town of Leura; and visited a lovely wildlife park where we could hand-feed kangaroos with joeys in their pouches and interact with so many other amazing creatures. And there was more! Scott sought out opportunities to surprise and delight us. He made us feel special, and we loved that he took care of absolutely everything for us on this magical day that we will never forget. Stop reading now and book this tour! ;)
This tour was well worth the price! Scott was a terrific guide who actively engaged us in conversation during the drive out to the mountains. Knowledgeable and personable, he also took good care to get us through the lines and positioned in the best spots possible for sight-seeing at the Three Sisters and for fun with the kangaroos at the zoo. Lunch was yummy and walking through the small mountain city very enjoyable. Thank you very much, Scott!
Scott drove us comfortably up and around the mountains, the views were spectacular and the picnic he prepared was quite memorable on a winter day. My girls will also not forget the joy of feeding kangaroos and having a great time with other Australian wildlife on our way back. I would highly recommend this tour (Sydney Private Day Tours) for real quality time with loved ones.
We had a fabulous day. Scott was a wonderful guide. He knew where to go and what to do to make the day super smooth. He also took great pics. Highly recommend.
The program itself was really great, but our guide, Scott, was simply fantastic. He was very informative and knowledgeable. He also took unexpectedly great photos for my family, knew how to avoid long lines, took us to a nice restaurant for lunch, taught us a lot about the Australian animals and provided more than what we expected throughout the whole trip. AAAAA+++++. Thank you so much, Scott. My family had a very good day !!
We could have made all the arrangements for this trip ourselves, but why would we want to? Julia and Scott were extremely helpful and flexible, and our day was really enjoyable. Julia reached out as soon as I booked the trip and was able to answer all my questions, and Scott was a wonderful guide the day of the trip. He gave us all kinds of local insights and made the visit much more meaningful than it would have been if we had gone alone. It was an expensive day, but well worth it. I would definitely book another tour with Sydney Private Day Tours again.
I can't say enough great things about Julia and Sydney Private Day Tours! Even before getting to Australia, Julia was incredibly responsive and quick to reply to any emails and questions. I was traveling with a toddler on my own, and every request and concern was easily addressed. Appropriate car seat? No problem! Kiddo not feeling well the day before? We'll figure it out and adjust the itinerary. Your friend suggested a new stop on the tour at the last minute? We can add it! The attention to small details also really impressed me. The vehicle was spotless, and although the tour was flexible in time, Julia made sure we got to the first stop in time to beat the big tour buses that would have diminished the pleasure of the experience considerably. And lastly, when we got to the Featherdale Wildlife Park, she knew the behavior of the animals so well, that I got so many priceless photos and videos of my son petting and interacting with the kangaroos. It was really an unforgettable day, and I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone traveling to the Sydney area.
Scott showed us a wonderful time visiting the Blue Mountains. He was attentive, professional, and helpful. I would high recommend this tour of the Blue Mountains.
One of the best customer service I have ever received in any tour guides. Very flexible with timing and pick-up locations as well as with stopover for restrooms which was needed for our infant. friendly tour guide Scott was amazing, polite, talkative, and good jokes amazing guy. also very helpful with the stroller and the baby as we were busy enjoying the scenes he was able to take care of our baby. I would defiantly recommend this trip as what you will and the quality of service you receives is amazing.
