From Sydney: Tandem Skydive Experience Over Wollongong Beach

This is a must do experience while in Sydney or surrounding areas. Skydive Australia kept me up to date with all details and the pickup from Sydney couldn’t have been any more straight forward. At the drop site, they explain everything to you and pair you up with your instructor. I had Etienne and he was amazing, hyped me up and made it feel like I was doing the jump with a friend. The videos and photos were sent to me within an hour of landing and captured the full experience. I couldn’t recommend this more!

Angelo was my guy. Fun! fun! fun! is all I can say, taking a dive out the side of the plane was extremely exciting!!

Had a wonderful time there and the weather was just perfect for the skydive! The whole crew is friendly and patient. I was well looked after by my instructor Alex, definitely will visit back again in the nearest future!

What an amazing day, our dive was booked for 12 midday, we arrived early and everything was so chilled, we grabbed a coffee from the hut down on the beach and came back to watch other divers landing. Full safely instructions given, then the instructors introduced themselves to who they were paired with. They are all very experienced and made everything so relaxed and no stress at all. I was paired with Alex, he was chatting to me as we were climbing in the aircraft and advising me what would be happening, nothing came as a surprise he was very thorough. Amazing experience, he was so calm. Landing excellent and smooth. Would definitely do again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Video footage and pictures are great to share !

I absolutely loved my skydiving experience in Wollongong. My instructor was Luke, although I hardly got to see his face because he was always behind me, supporting me the entire time! I only really figure out what he look like afterwards when I saw the photos and videos, a little too late! Luke was incredibly patient, calm, careful and professional. He repeatedly checked and adjusted my harness before we jumped and made sure everything was secure, which made me feel very safe. He might looks cool and serious, but he has such a warm heart and is a true professional. This was my first skydive, and the experience was completely different from what I had imagined. Before we got on the plane, I accidentally followed Mitch instead because I thought he was my instructor, sorry about that, Luke! 😂 I think I was just confused because you were both wearing sunglasses, I’d only just met you, and Mitch seemed to recognise me, probably because he was my husband’s instructor. When you came to find me, I genuinely didn’t realise I had been following the wrong instructor! A big thank you to the whole Wollongong team as well. I had an amazing first skydive, and I hope to see you again someday! ❤️ My daughter was very disappointed that she was too young to jump this time, but she’s already hoping that one day she’ll be able to come back and skydive here too! Please pass my heartfelt thanks on to Luke for being so patient with me and making me feel so safe during such an unforgettable experience❤️

Unforgettable experience!!!! This was definitely a highlight of our Sydney trip. My daughter and I rated this experience a 10/10…. The instructors were phenomenal and made us feel comfortable the entire time, from beginning to end. Highly recommend!!!

Jumping from 15,000 feet over Wollongong Beach was absolutely incredible - a feeling I will never forget! The moment you step out of the plane and see the coastline, ocean, and landscape below you is something that is very hard to describe. It was exciting, a little crazy, and absolutely worth it! A big thank you to Alex and Paul, who were amazing from the moment I arrived at the base. They made the whole experience feel comfortable and well organized, especially during the preparation. They took care of all the equipment, explained everything clearly, and guided me through the entire process step by step. During the dive, I felt completely confident in their hands and was able to simply enjoy the experience. I also really enjoyed hearing about the history of Australia and the Wollongong area while we were there. It added a nice personal touch and made the experience even more interesting. The actual skydive was simply spectacular. Free-falling from 15,000 feet with that incredible view below is something I will remember for the rest of my life. And landing safely on the beach afterward was the perfect ending to an amazing adventure! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for something truly special and unforgettable. If you are visiting Sydney, make the trip to Wollongong and do it. You won’t regret it! Thank you, Alex and Paul, for such an incredible experience! Five stars all the way!

Viator has no value of arranging logistics, the description is confused and no customer services to clarify at all. I would rather book directly.

I do highly recommend. Professional, polite, good for first time sky divers, lovely location. Remember though it’s weather dependent. But transfers were a bit disorganised. I mean if everyone has completed their jump, then round everyone up and head back to Sydney CBD. Not wait for 45 minutes in the bus, get annoyed and then find why people are hanging around the drop zone. Not good. Let alone dumping people off where you didn’t pick them up in the CBD. Check in/reception. Not cool. People are nervous. Don’t yell at people, don’t throw them out if they have lined up so beautifully, because you’re not organised. Can I recommend? Yes. But improvements needed. The people that gear you up were lovely, understanding you are very nervous. The instructor are lovely. I highly recommend the filming package,

This would simply be the best thing you will ever do with your life. The staff were amazing and reassuring, they made it so fun despite literally chucking yourself out of a plane at 15000 feet, they made you forget all about the scary part and made you ready for the excitement. I felt safe and reassured throughout the whole experience and so happy I did this. However, I am unsure how I will ever top this experience.

Great experience skydiving for the 1st time! Luke was a great instructor and guided me through the whole process. We were able to take great pictures and videos. This is an amazing way to see the beautiful views of the city and beach. Mario was a great tour guide who picked us up from Sydney and pointed out some views and Kangaroos that we can see from the highway. He was a great tour guide and really made sure that we all had the best time possible. Highly recommend this activity for anyone visiting Australia!

What an experience! I’ve always wanted to try skydiving and this one made me appreciate the experience - the fun activity and the way it was executed. I’d say it’s become one of the top things I’ve done in my life. Thanks to my instructor Mitch, he made me feel safe! Now I want to do a solo skydive. 😆🫶🏼

The trip never happened. I phoned them on the morning of the trip and they told me that it had been cancelled because the pilot was sick. It was impossible to reschedule as it was the last day of my vacation and I had to fly back to Toronto (today). They said that Trip Advisor would deal with my refund. Please send back the fee that I paid. Craig Christenen

This was an absolutely incredible and once in a lifetime experience! We did this with family when visiting them in Wollongong and considering we were going to be jumping out of a plane we felt really excited and not as nervous as we thought we’d be thanks to the friendly staff. On the flight before the jump you see some unreal scenery and the free fall was like nothing I’ve ever felt before. They even let us control the parachute for some of it towards the end! We can all say that we loved every second of the experience and would definitely do it again!

Super incredible experience, flying way above Wollongong in a little private plane, to extremely great service and an experience you’ll never forget! My tandem/guide was incredible and made the experience so fun and enjoyable, there was no time to think too much or get scared and he guided me through the experience making it so seamless too! We came in winter, and they provided warm fleece jumpers and pants, making sure that we stayed warm during the descent◡̈ The photos are also a great way to remember the experience!

It was raining the night before and I messaged them asking if they will let me know if cancelled prior to the 0650 departure no response. I went to departure and was told cancelled that day due to weather. I then messaged trying to reschedule and they responded hours later they did but no transportation I then replied asking for the address to taxi there and no response. I did not get refunded for this. They were quick to respond once they had my money then ghost mode. Be weary

An incredible experience! The whole skydiving team were very professional. They gave us the proper training, uniform and information needed to jump safely. Thanks to Mario, Mitch, Sophie and every member who made this possible. It was exciting and fun!

We rented a car and drove 2 hours to Sydney only to have our session cancelled 13 minutes before we were scheduled. The reason was a temporary air control flight hold, given they were already runnint late on previous jumps, we wouldn’t have enough day light. Partial uncontrollable circumstances, partially their fault for running late on earlier flights. We were forced to extend our car rental and buy accommodation for the night in order to make the reschedule the following morning. When we tried to get compensation at the help desk, they were extremely unhelpful. Our compensation was a choice between some hat or $17 AUD (3% of total cost). We were told this was a favor because the policy is no compensation. Sort of a crazy thing to hear. The last minute communication, the extra costs, and lack of compensation was really disappointing.

This was a bucket list activity. Being picked up from Sydney made it so easy & convenient. The staff were all great, inspired confidence and made it an unforgettable experience. Jumping over the Wollongong was beautiful. I loved seeing the hills and the beach - incredible. Remember if you are on any medication you need to bring a letter from your family doctor to say you’re fit to jump.

Photo package is insanely pricey, and pros were a bit pushy with getting content. Not really my thing! Otherwise, super cool and fun experience.

Decided on a whim to go skydiving while on a solo trip to Australia and this company was amazing! The instructors were kind and funny and really good at calming the pre-jump anxiety. The view waiter the free fall was breathtaking!

Incredible time, safe & fantastic jumpers and crew! It was a lot of wait time, but that’s to be expected. The jump process itself took around 20-30 minutes, so super quick. Lots of money to do an experience like that, but so worth it! It was me & my husband’s 1st time skydiving together (we’ve done it previously before) ☺️

I have been wanting to Sky Dive for many years. I finally got the opportunity. I have a brain problem & it is affecting my balance, mobility & speech. I booked my jump in & arrived at the site in Wollongong on Tuesday 23/05 / 2023 for a quick safety brief. They allowed me Sky Dive with my disability. The Sky Dive Crew were very professional & were extremely inviting to me considering my disability. Today was the best day I've had in a long time. I will definitely go again & Sky Dive with this company. I'd just like to say a big thank you again to the crew for giving me this great day.

The whole was just wonderful. From booking it on Viator, contact the tour operator, discussing about pickup/drop off, and doing the activity. Woody, who I jumped with was amazing. This was absolutely value of money. Seeing the world from 15000 ft above and then the jump is just breath taking. I would highly recommend doing it.

Would recommend W ollongong Skydive to anyone. I completed an amazing skydive yesterday (March 8) & for a 76th Birthday gift I say ‘Don’t miss it people,’ .This professional team from booking,instructors made. It a fun experience for all on board the plane. On landing all of our group that I spoke to would do it again in a heartbeat. Which is good to hear from people you have never met before. All comments were extremely positive & most of us coul not believe that we felt so relaxed & no nervousness thanks to the great instructors & organisation.

I did a first time tandem skydive with these guys yesterday and I would 100% recommend them. It was a perfect sunny bank holiday and even though it was incredibly busy, we were totally taken care of the whole way through. I was full of bravado before I jumped, no fear whatsoever, but when the doors of the plane opened and I saw my friend disappear out the door, my heart stopped. Massive shout out to my instructor Josh, he was so patient and funny and totally coached me through as I had a panic attack hurtling through the sky at 200km p/h! This was an incredible experience, and although today I am hoarse from screaming, and I still feel a prickle of fear just thinking about it, I would probably do it again. Thank you Josh and the Woolongong Crew, you guys are awesome.

This experience was AMAZING! I had always said id never be able to skydive but i bit the bullet and decided to give it a go and i am SO glad i did! The organising was great and the professional skydiver i was with was friendly and made me feel so comfortable and safe, thanks Biggsy! I actually wasn't nervous on the day at all to my surprise. The jump was like nothing else, the feeling you get when free-falling and seeing the world from that perspective is out of this world.

Absolutely the worst communication I’ve ever seen from a company while on Holiday. I do not recommend this company at all if coming from Sydney. They literally wasted our entire day but could have avoided it with a 30 second email.

Amazing experience is the first thing I have to say. Me and my buddy decided to drive instead of pick, once there everything is quick and easy from sign in to gear, you will be jumping out of a plane pretty quick after arrival. If you feel nervous not to worry you will have an awesome instructor help you through it. Mine was CJ and he made for an awesome time. The only downside is the price of photos and video which they charge at a premium. Despite this I can’t recommend enough

I had always said that I would never go skydiving... yet when my wedding party decided that they would all take the plunge, I knew that I would always regret it if I didn’t join them. I was terrified and there is a long lead up from arrival at the location to actually leaving the plane (a good half a day, from pick up in Sydney city at 6am to return to Central Station around lunchtime). But this provider was excellent, offering a friendly and competent service. And my instructor in particular (Russ, an absolute legend, with my than 7,000 jumps under his belt) made me feel completely at ease. He made me feel very safe, and really took care of a nervous first-timer. I would absolutely recommend this company and encourage those daunted by the thought of it to give it a go (best to go with a group of around 10, so you can all go together in the one plane). It was something I will never forget.

Arrival: Pick up at 8 AM from “Wake Up Sydney!” is more like 8:40 AM. Journey to Wollongong: 90 minutes comfortable bus journey to the destination. Getting Signed Up: This could take a lot of time. Waited in queue for 45-60-90 minutes. And more wait, while you wait for the earlier groups to be 1. de-briefed 2. transported to airport 3. jump touch down. Add 30 minutes per group ahead of you. Skydive: 60 seconds of free fall didn’t feel like 60 seconds. These could be the fastest 60 seconds of your life. Paraglide/Balloon Assisted: Once is parachute opens up, it is just the matter of 5 minutes before you touch down. And more wait, while you wait for the entire bus group to finish. Photos: Absolutely ridiculous pictures!! 1 out of 5. See for yourself. Edited Video: Terrible!! 1 out of 5. Quality: 3 out 5. Cost: Overpriced. $199 would be more than enough.

Loved my skydive, a truly unforgettable experience. Got picked up in Sydney so it is a long day but worth it for the 7 minutes of adrenaline. Last on the plane is first to jump and trust me, that’s the best way to do it, although it might not seem so at the time!
