Glenn was an amazing guide. He was knowledgeable, accommodating and very friendly. He tailored the itinerary to allow us to hike to all the places we wanted to as well as making sure we didn’t miss anything. I would highly recommend Glenn and Runaway tours!

We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip out of Sydney to the Blue Mountains. It was a lovely change of pace, and Liz was a fantastic guide, taking us to all the not-to-miss spots. We highly recommend adding this to your itinerary!
We enjoyed a fun day seeing Australia’s wonderful animals. Our favorites were the Kuala Bears and Kangaroos. Then we headed to the Blue Mountains. Beautiful view, a nice bite to eat at a little restaurant. The. Back to more views of the Blue Mountains from several overlooks. Glen our tour guide for the day was a wonderful guide, and would recommend this tour and Glen as a guide
Charlie our tour guide made this a fabulous trip. He is well experienced since he lives in the area. Charlie was delightful as a conversational and knowledgeable guide and he customized our day skillfully avoiding weather challenges and optimizing the day for our interests and capabilities . He made this a very memorable and positive day. Couldn’t have been any better - thanks to the second mile service of Charlie. Highly recommended’
There are many tour operators to Blue Mountains. We selected Runaway because we were looking for private tour and we like the suggested itinerary. We had an amazing time visiting Featherdale Wildlife Park and Blue Mountains with Liz! Liz is friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and professional. When we were at Featherdale, she offered to wait in line for photo with koala for our family while we strolled through the front part of the wildlife park. We also learned many history and fun facts of Australia, Sydney, and Blue Mountains. We enjoyed hitting charming towns and walking down trails that lead to breathtaking, panoramic views of sandstone cliffs, as well as iconic rock formations. Thank you Liz and Runaway Tours Sydney for the awesome day trip!
This was a wonderful trip. The Wildlife Park was a lot of fun. I fed so many kinds of Kangaroos and saw a Tasmania Devil as well as an aquidna. My guide Glenn was friendly and knowledgeable about everything we saw. He really made this a great experience.
Julian was our tour guide and did a terrific job. His insights on the sites we visited were fun and educational.
Saw interesting things. Enjoyed our trip to to the Australian animal zoo. Like the views from the top of the blue Mountains. Would’ve liked to have done the tram ride down to the valley to see the things down there, but it wasn’t included in our tour.
We cannot say enough about the wonderful visit to Featherdale Wild Life park. It was a dream come true to touch a koala, feed kangaroos and wallabies! The tour of the majestic views Blue Mountains was outstanding Thank you so much to our extremely knowledgeable guide Glenn! We would highly recommend!
Glenn was our guide and he was fantastic. We had so much fun! I highly recommend this tour. The wildlife refugee was terrific. We had plenty of interaction with the animals. We had a great lunch in a small town in the blue mountains frequented by locals. And that’s always the way to go. The rock formations were spectacular. Having the right guide always makes the tour and Glenn certainly didn’t disappoint. And I have to say after taking two tours with Runaway Tours in Sydney I wouldn’t even consider coming to Sydney again without contacting Steve the owner to set up my itinerary. Stop what you’re doing and book a runaway tour while it’s on your mind. You won’t regret it!
We had a great day with our driver, Joe. He was right on time, the van was very comfortable and he was very knowledgeable. He customized the trip to us along the way, even stopping at a pub so we could try a local beer. Highly recommend!
Amazingggg experience with Glenn at runaway tours! Glenn was a fantastic tour guide, super friendly and funny. He was very attentive and made sure he could take care of us any chance he had, whether that was taking our photos or holding our belongings. He adapted the tour to make sure that we were happy and comfortable with what we were doing and ensuring he showed us our preferred view points. Honestly could not recommend this day trip more, especially with Glenn. Thank you so much!!
What a wonderful day with a great tour guide named Glenn..... he was knowledgeable, prompt and very accommodating to our needs. He also took us to a wonderful lunch spot that was away from all the tourists which we had a traditional Aussie pie. He also shared pictures from Featherdale that he had taken previously because some of the animals were hidden so we could not view them..... I highly recommend this company and I highly recommend Glenn as your guide!
Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable. Loved the stop at the wildlife park on the way to the Blue Mountains. The weather was beautiful with great visibility from numerous vantage points.
Had a fantastic Blue Mountain day trip. Picked up by Julian who was very informative with an easy going manner. Thoroughly enjoyed our day, Blue Mountain is just spectacular. Many thanks to Julian for a great trip.
We were picked up at our hotel in a beautiful car by the nicest driver, Brendan. The conversation as we drove from Sydney to the FeatherDale Wildlife Park and Blue Mountain was interesting and informative. This is a tour company worth knowing and using. We enjoyed our day and leaned. Plus given the incentive to lean and know more about Australia. Thank you Steve and Brendan
I had an incredible day exploring the Blue Mountains on a private tour. The personalized experience meant we could move at our own pace and really soak in the stunning views of the Three Sisters and breathtaking cliffs. The highlight was visiting the wildlife park - getting up close with kangaroos, koalas, and other native animals made the trip truly special. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the day both fun and informative. Highly recommended!
Great tour. Highly adaptable to your group and the conditions. Went to places that were not normal tourist spots (Anvil Rock) that had no crowds. Kids and us had a great time. Highly recommend.
We were a family of 11 and did this private tour of Blue Mountains, which included a trip to Featherdale Wildlife Park, which we enjoyed thoroughly, as it was a completely different & more intimate experience compared to Taronga Zoo. We had lunch at Leura, saw the Three Sisters, and went to Scenic World. First of all, our guide Bettina was amazing! If you're going with Runaway Tours, you must absolutely request for Bettina. She truly knows her stuff, and she made the tour very pleasant. As we were quite a big group, we request for their bus that seats 14, which was comfortable for us. The only thing that I would change with our tour was the ride home, which we decided to take the ferry from Olympic Park to Circular Quay, instead of taking the tour bus all the way back to our hotel. As it was wintertime, it got dark quickly, and we didn't get to see much from inside the ferry, so taking the tour bus back home would've been much more efficient & convenient. But all in all, a wonderful trip! Would definitely go with Runaway tours if we decide on another trip to Sydney.
If you love and respect nature, the Blue Mountains with Wildlife Park offers a perfect combination of getting up close to native, and currently native, animals to Australia before heading into to the magnificent Blue Mountains! The views, formations, foliage, and birdsong are magnificent! Runaway Tours meet your wants and needs brilliantly!
Excellent tour filled with excitement and with fun energetic and knowledgeable guide! Highly recommend doing a private so it’s customized.
This review is a bit tricky because the day had some bad weather, not anyone's fault, and because there was a flat tire on the vehicle which then cut even further into the day. I do want to say that our guide (I believe his name was Glen) did his very best to make the day a great success. He went with us around the animal park which really helped us to see the various animals and birds. It was a great start to the day. He also did his very best to get us to the viewing points where we could actually see something besides clouds. It took a while but we felt like we saw the things we hoped we would be able to see. He also found us an excellent place for lunch! I just felt badly that he got back so late after getting the flat tire fixed and then adding time to the day so that we could get to the things we would otherwise have missed.
Just OK, needed more time at wildlife center, which was very good, and less stops at Blue Mountains for pictures.
Glenn was awesome! We really enjoyed spending the day with him. He was so nice and knowledgeable. On top of that the experience was so fun. Getting to see the wildlife and pet some of them was so cool and an experience I’ll never forget. Loved seeing the blue mountains too. Never seen anything like it and Glenn was wonderful about showing us all kinds of special views.
Enjoyed a great tour of the Blue Mountains. Glenn was an excellent guide. He made sure we had a great visit to the wildlife park and also helped ensure that we enjoyed the best views of the three sisters, boar’s head and other lookouts. We really enjoyed chatting with Glenn throughout the day.
If there was a way to rate this adventure higher we would. We did a private guided full day tour of the Blue Mountains booked at late notice with almost no research done. Our guide was Tony who engaged at first sight and immediately set off into a guided tour of where we were standing, very quickly he found out what we’d already seen and done. Our trip was immediately tailored to us, to our wants, to the weather conditions and throughout the day we were treated to the best possible experience that was wonderful. Ten hours flew by. We saw lots, we weren’t swamped by anyone including tour groups. Tony found the best views, the best parking, the best locations and at every chance he bombarded us with info, responsive to audience knowledge and easy to listen to, just fantastic. We thoroughly recommend this company, Tony, The Blue Mountains tour and everything to do with them. We are back in NSW later this year, we will be calling to arrange our tour!!!! Thank you everyone concerned!
Glenn was a fabulous guide. We spent a wonderful day with him. He was very personable and knowledgeable about everything--history, animals, plants, geography, He planned every detail to maximize our day with him, and we enjoyed everything. This tour was the highlight of our stay in Sydney.
The animals we saw were very interesting, and the information and the way it was presented was very engaging. As well as that the views themselves of the valleys were preposterously impressive. Our tour guide Ben was great.
Brendan handled the tour excellently..the tour actually includes Featherdale Wildlife Parkand Scenic World and Magalong Valley..
The trip was excellent. Brendan our driver was a great host and gave us an excellent tour into the Blue Mountains and a superb day out seeing the wildlife and the various scenic stops in the mountains. The walk through the mountains was especially excellent. Steve and Mandy were the most helpful people we’ve ever dealt with when booking this trip and looking at others. Would thoroughly recommend.
We had arrival flight issues and they did a wonderful job of modifying the tour to deal with things like lost luggage and start time changes. Highly recommend. Blue Mountains were a great find.
We wanted to see more than just Sydney, and we wanted to learn more about living in Australia. We got all that and more from our amazing tour guide, Ben! We had a blast seeing the magnificent Blue Mountains. From the 3 sisters to the cute hamlet of Leura and the thrilling overlooks. I can not imagine a better day in 'Stralia! Ben taught us history, zoology, geology, and pronunciation all day. If you want an experience, book this tour!
Joe is a fantastic guide, we can’t recommend him enough! If we could have Joe as a guide on all of our tours in Australia, we would. We had a wonderful day sight seeing the Blue Mountains. You can tell Joe enjoys what he does and is lovely to be around. He did a great job of giving us History about each location without overdoing it or boring us. The wildlife tour was a fun place to visit and to see the native animals. Great trip to see the beautiful scenery at the Blue Mountains and wildlife.
Wish we would have had a different guide, as I think it would have been a better experience. He cared more about his needs and taking his own photos than any of our needs, including making us wait until 3:00pm to eat when most of the restaurants close at 3pm. He did not listen to us and was very lackluster. I actually left this tour upset and angry - and that has NEVER happened.
Very personalized tour. Glenn was an oustanding guide and knowledgable about the Blue Mountains. Lunch was great. Think it might be the guides favorite for a reason.
We had a most memorable trip with Brandon who shared information and insights about the history and culture of the region as well as answering our many questions about the animals and plants of Australia. We loved visiting Featherdale wildlife park but the true highlight of the day was walking the trails of the Blue Mountains, enjoying the views and the blooming plants. We also enjoyed lunch with Brandon at a vegan friendly restaurant in Leura and got great tips on other sites we should visit during our short time here. I highly recommend this tour.
Andrew is an exceptional guide, who lead us on a fantastic tour of the Blue Mountains, including a stop at a wildlife park to get close to kangroos, wallabies and koalas. Andrew knows all the best trails and spots in the parks, and we loved the history and stories of the blue mountains and Sydney that he shared. He was adept at avoiding the crowds, and timing things beautifully. We had an amazing day out, and I would highly recommend.
We had a great time on the Blue Mountains Tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took us to some wonderful places. The tour was well organized and his suggestions for lunch were outstanding. We had a great experience.
Brendon was wonderful. He moved as quickly or slowly as we wished. Had a great day seeing animals we had only seen in books are on TV and the beautiful blue mountains are absolutely breathtaking. Highly recommend this tour.
Glenn was amazing! Very knowledgeable in nature and culture and historical facts! The day was perfectly tailored to our requests and taste!
Glenn was wonderful and very accommodating of what we wanted to see we saw three sisters, wildlife sanctuary and the Harbor. We never felt rushed. Knowledgeable @ areas and animas we visited .
Glen was a fantastic tour guide! He is a very friendly and intelligent man. The zoo was great as was the rest of the tour. Ask for Glen!
We had an amazing tour and our guide guilian was more like a friend we enjoyed the whole day from the start to the end everything was perfect our guide explained everything in a clear and interesting way.
Where is the great experience and the tour guy was very helpful as I am a visually impaired person! And he describe all the things to me and help me to take a lot of pictures
Wonderful tour and guide! Beautiful scenery! Highly recommend this tour! Don’t miss it this opportunity!
OK, this was fantastic! Our guide was Glenn - he was wonderful! It was a great experience and I highly recommend a private tour to the Blue Mts and Featherdale. First, the Featherdale Animal Park was AWESOME!!! I live in San Diego...we have the SD Zoo which is one of the best Zoos in the world...the Taronga Zoo is basically like the SD Zoo (with amazing views of Sydney)....but Featherdale is a complete Aussie experience. If you are from outside Australia visiting, this is a must to get up close with the animals of Australia. Second, the Blue Mts and cities of Katoomba and Leura were great stops! To get the most out of these stops, having a private guide makes great become awesome!
The rain and fog made it impossible to do any hiking or see anything. The highlight was the wildlife preserve , where the weather mostly cooperated. Glenn tried his best! We did enjoy lunch at Megalong .
Our guude, Bettina, was, first of all, a charming and delightful companion for the day. She was knowledgeable about the Blue Mountains as a natural wonder, and about how best to visit the area. That was extremely important in our case as the weather was uncooperative. But Bettina was intimately familiar with the local microclimates and vistas and was able to find opportunities to get the best views and experiences possible on that rainy, foggy day.
We loved seeing koalas, kangaroos, penguins, and so many more animals at the wildlife sanctuary!! So much fun to feed the Roos and wallabies!! Bettina was our tour guide and went above and beyond! Though we were limited in what we can see due to the bad weather, she did her best to show us everything she could in the Blue Mountains and also gave us a tour of Sydney so we didn’t feel we missed out. She is truly the best and very kind and fun!
Private tours are the way to go. Glenn our tour guide ensure we had a great experience. He picked us up from our hotel and started showing us all the sites as we left the downtown area. He gave us a rich history lesson on Australia. I highly recommend this tour.
