Great property, okay service. Rooms are fantastic with cool deign and curved themes. Bathrooms have beautiful blue tiles. We really liked the coastal theme. Food was great. We had dinner and breakfast at BTWN and both were really good. Top tip - if you book a Marriott Luminous rate through an authorised travel provider, you receive free breakfast and $150 AUD credit to spend during your stay, all for the same flexible rate offered online. Our one area of criticism is that we feel service all round could be improved. Some small examples include - we noticed that lots of people couldn’t check in at 3pm (advised check in time) as their rooms weren’t ready, and we overheard a gentleman being told it would be another hour. This was quite poor. It also didn’t seem like there was any compensation or offering to soften the blow. Our room initially wasn’t ready but after some back and forth, they managed to move us to a room that was ready. There was also a time where a staff member was actively on their phone in the lift with guests present. In general, the service was not quite up to a 5 star standard and felt clunky and robotic. The location of the hotel is great, however we would recommend that the hotel provide guests with a small map at check in to advise how to walk to the CBD and other areas, noting that the hotel is sandwiched between two freeways and can be difficult to walk out of the darling harbour precinct. Overall a good stay, and we would stay again at the right rate, but hope service improves slightly.

I must admit after reading several average reviews online I was reluctant to book the W hotel Sydney. I was travelling as a family of 4 (with 2 kids aged 6 & 8). But it offered decent value and good location & I wanted a “hotel feel” for the family as oppposed to an Air B & B or apartment style accommodation. From the moment we arrived at the hotel and hopped out of our Uber at the Main Entrance, we were met by a young and energetic Bell Boy who whisked our luggage away and was great with the kids complimenting there favourite soccer teams and their “cool clothes”…. Was a pleasant surprise after lowering my expectations from what I had read online. The hotel itself is fun and hip in its design - the kids called it the “Disco Hotel” :) Checkin went smooth & easy (despite the Security bond being ridiculously high at $1k??). The rooms were lovely and spacious for a family of 4 x we had 2 x doubles in our city view room which was fine for us! Boys loved the big round bath Tub and the big Shark soft toys on the beds! We were unfortunately staying in Sydney to attend a family funeral, which the hotel found out about and they kindly left us a condolences package of goodies in our room to help make our stay more comfortable during this sad time which again was an unexpected and thoughtful touch. The hotel location itself is fantastic, walking distance to the city centre, darling harbour restaurant and bars and the Saturday night fireworks were a hit for the family. The top deck pool was a great hang out spot for us, the lady who we met in the elevator at checkout when my son asked if he could take home the big shark soft toys , kindly went and got our 2 x boys a fair well well small shark soft toy each which put a big smile on their faces. I wish I got all the staff members names , but really I just want to say thankyou, as it’s clear that all staff have stepped up their game and provided above expectations and a high level of service which really made the weekend for us. Thankyou W hotel Sydney . Keep it up!
We had a lovely stay at W Sydney! The hotel has amazing views, and the pool was definitely a standout for my daughter. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean, modern and stylish, and all the staff were so warm and welcoming. My daughter was especially happy to leave with lots of little treats from the lovely team! I’d recommend booking parking at First Parking Darling Quarter, as parking at the hotel is limited. We had such a wonderful experience and can’t wait to come back! ❤️
WOW! What an amazing hotel! 🤩 My stay at W Sydney was absolutely fantastic. Status: Gold 🥇 Upgraded? YES! 🙌 And not just once — I’ve stayed twice, and both times I was automatically upgraded to a beautiful room with an amazing view of Darling Harbour. 🌊✨ What really stood out to me was the treatment as a Gold member. The hotel genuinely made us feel valued and welcomed, even without being at the highest elite tier. They also gave us a nice credit to use at the mini bar, which was such a lovely added touch. After experiencing different Marriott properties, I really appreciate hotels that recognize and take care of their loyal guests — and W Sydney absolutely delivered. Amazing hotel, amazing views, and amazing recognition. I would happily stay here again! ❤️
WET Deck: Bente looked after us at the pool on day one and set the tone for the whole stay (bonus points for the Netherlands chat). Sujal from Nepal and Salesi were brilliant every day after that, attentive without ever hovering. Sara, the supervisor, clearly runs a tight and happy team. Adults Only Sundays are a great touch too, exactly the calm you want by the pool on the last day of the weekend. Reception: Tasin was warm, efficient and genuinely helpful from check-in onwards. The downloadable map of the hotel and surrounds was a small thing that made a real difference. The bar: Kelsey and Alicia were superb, especially during the NFL launch night. Great energy, great service. The hotel itself: The custom-built art throughout the property is stunning, and I loved learning that it doubles as noise cancelling. Clever design that you would never spot unless someone told you. Even the phone covers and the little details in the lobby show how much thought has gone into the place. One small note for the team: a few towels at the indoor WET Deck would be handy. That is the only thing I could find to improve.
