Location is very convenient. A lot of restaurants and bars within 5min walk. Very close to the subway station. Within walking distance to Sydney Opera House. Hotel interior is new and clean. Staffs speak English and some speak Chinese. There is a small swimming pool and a gym with some standard fitness equipments including dumbbells, lat pulldown machine, chest workout machine, and some running machines. If you like horses, you'll love the Grace Hotel. The constant 'clip-clopping' on the wooden(!) room floors will bring back fond memories of being in the stable yard. Perhaps the noise will even evoque dreams of winning the Melbourne Cup. Aside from that, the room's are .. fine. Basic, but clean. View of the courtyard - appropriate perhaps - although no equine friends to be observed outside. They must all be wandering the floors and cantering around the room next door ..
Location, room size, and Wi-Fi are great—service and hospitality are non-existent. The Good: Location: Absolutely perfect and extremely central. The hotel completely relies on this. Rooms: Very spacious, with solid and reliable Wi-Fi. The Catch: Interior: Dated decor throughout the property. Service: Zero true hospitality. Checking in felt less like a warm welcome and more like a cold transaction—you're immediately bombarded with terms, conditions, deposits, and rules. No staff greeted us when entering, and nobody said goodbye when we left. Bottom Line: If you only care about a central location and space, this works. If you're looking for genuine hospitality or a welcoming experience, look elsewhere.
Attended a course held in one of the conference rooms. The lunch was fantastic and they catered to my allergy. Bathroom was nice, doors a bit heavy. We did have issues with the WiFi but was quickly resolved. Room was freezing but again was sorted out in reasonable time.
Grace hotel is a beautiful building, in a great location. Nice clean modern, very spacious room (we had a family room with 2 singles and a king). Comfortable beds. There were some complimentary chocolates (assuming for my daughter who had competed at a cheerleading competition which they were aware of). Very cute! Free non-alcoholic mini bar is a great touch, however, only 2 still waters supplied and there were 3 of us booked in. The 2nd day we were there, upon request for 3 waters, we were only allowed 2 still waters. They offered sparkling but I don't really understand why we couldn't just have 3 still (not a huge complaint as we appreciated free juice water and soft drinks) but seemed a little silly. Service was fantastic from the reception staff. We arrived with my daughter who had just injured her ankle and they were very helpful, delivering ice bucket and ice pack to the room. Let downs in my opinion were .. no free movies channels on the tv and room service was an absolute joke, tried phoning 5 times with no answer, it was only around 7pm (a Sunday) and we were starving for some dinner. Reception did not answer either. We couldn't go out as it was raining and my daughter was not able to walk far. The reception staff were very apologetic the next day and assured me they wouldn't miss any calls from our room again but that wasn't overly helpful at the time. Overall lovely central hotel and not too expensive, would stay again and would recommend, but I think they really need to change who supplies their room service (the pub downstairs).
