Meriton Suites Coward Street, Mascot

This is a very convenient hotel to Mascot and Sydney Airport. It's in a nice e setting with a park opposite and a selection of shops just a short walk down the road near Mascot Train Station. The room I had was very spacious and comfortable. Excellent kitchen facilities and a nice bathroom, it also had laundry facilities in the room. I even had a small balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful - pointing my very directionly challenged self in the correct direction before I headed out for breakfast! A lovely property.

Matthew was absolutely lovely! So bubbly, kind and very efficient. It was our first time checking in, and he gave us such a warm and welcoming experience from the moment we arrived. He’s the perfect person to have at the front counter. Thank you, Matthew, for making such a great first impression.

We accidentally booked an accessible room, and we fully acknowledge that was our mistake. We’re not complaining about the accessibility features, but the bathroom looked more like a dirty public disabled bathroom than one in a 5-star hotel. The tiles looked dirty, the mirror and sink were very basic, and it just felt old and unclean. The floor felt dusty and it did not feel clean to walk on. The mirror was one of those thin types just glued to the wall We were also shocked that there weren’t even basic toiletries available like a toothbrush or toothpaste. Instead, we had to pay $9 for a toothbrush and $7 for toothpaste. I’ve never stayed at a hotel that charges guests extra for basic essentials. Another thing was the accessibility of the room itself. You have to walk down two long hallways to get to the elevator, far from the main elevators near reception, and the room door was extremely heavy to open. It made me wonder how someone with a disability is expected to comfortably access the room. It would make much more sense for accessible rooms to be located closer to the entrance or main lifts no? Or are those only reserved for the more “premium” room for non disabled guests? The only positive was the service. The front desk staff and security were both friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They allowed us to extend our checkout to 11am rather than 10am too.

I had a lovely stay at Meriton Suites. From the cleanliness to the front desk staff, everything was welcoming and professionally managed. I stayed in a 2-bedroom suite for around 20 nights, and overall the experience was very comfortable. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and well maintained throughout my stay. The location and ambiance of the hotel are excellent, and the garden view added a very relaxing touch. I also really enjoyed the indoor swimming pool, which was clean and well kept. Overall, the property feels modern, tidy, and well organized. Another great advantage is the location. There is a park nearby, along with many coffee spots and eateries within walking distance, making it very convenient for both short and long stays. The metro station is also only around an 8-minute walk away, which makes commuting around the city very easy. One area that could be improved is the housekeeping schedule. The hotel provides express cleaning every 3 days, which only includes limited service, while full cleaning is done every 7 days. For a hotel that strongly promotes cleanliness and comfort, this felt a little too stretched, especially for longer stays. Another drawback was the parking policy. Parking costs $35 per night, and despite staying for nearly 3 weeks, there was no reduced long-stay rate available. I would strongly recommend the hotel reconsider this policy and offer discounted parking for guests staying longer periods. Apart from these points, my stay was excellent, and I would still happily recommend the hotel for its cleanliness, comfort, location, and overall atmosphere. Definitely recommended.
