Shout out from Louisiana! This hotel was amazing. The location right on the beach was tea and the shops and eats they had on site were un matches. You HAVE to try the coffee that comes with a little brownie out front. The courtyard is a definite hang out spot. The room, OMG! Spacious, luxurious, and overall amazing. Had a great view from a bay window to hang out and feel the breeze while I watch the waves crash at the beach. The reception clerks.....super helpful and sooo very welcoming and nice. Shout out Andrea a wonderful transplant from the states and her cohort working at the time Vicky. They were such a pleasure to talk to. All in I will 100% recommend staying at this place. I for sure will!

We absolutely loved the location. Our room was well appointed and spacious, also very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. It was a short stay but we loved every moment of it.
We attended a wedding. Our room was perfect for our needs, the location views were lovely, the hotel staff were so nice, the area with a TV for the children at the wedding is a genius idea. For some of the guest tables it was very cold but we asked that the downstairs door be closed over and we also closed over the balcony door which made it a little more comfortable for the guests until the meal was over. We had never experienced the 'alternate drop' meal which was a surprise and I wouldn't choose myself, but the food was nice so all was good. We had to attend the bridal suite for photos and found it difficult to find and having no lift was an issue with a buggy, small child and elderly people. The noise from the bar could be an issue if you had a room near it but it clearly tells you that on the website and our room was very peaceful. Thanks to the hotel for looking after us so well ye should be very proud.
The Coogee Bay Hotel isn’t just iconic because of where it is, the bars, the patrons, the staff, the music, the food or the vibe. It’s a great place to stay with choice of pub rooms or boutique hotel rooms. And, no matter where you stay, it’s the same great people looking after you in the best suburb in Sydney. Home away from home. I love CBH!
*edited* Booked the Coogee Bay Boutique for the week thinking it would be a room in the relatively quiet Vicar St premises and ended up above the bar of the pub with no lifts. Yes if I had dug deeper in our corporate booking system I would have seen the room was actually in the Coogee Bay Hotel and not in the Vicar St premises. I spent 5 weeks in hotels in Coogee last year, nothing was as loud as this particular room. The day time ambient noise level actually makes the room seem quieter but during the evening even people talking on the street echos up into this 2nd story room as if there were no windows. The rooms and hotel itself are literally the best finished out of any in the area, quality clean fit outs. I would stay here again but not anywhere near the main street or bar areas. Carefully read the room description and you will likely enjoy the stay. On this occasion I have not.
