We stayed here for our final days of a four-week trip to Australia. We were in a double-double on the 11th floor. As a group of three (two parents and a 15 year old), the room was something of a squash, as like many boutique hotels, some of the practical elements - like space and storage - are lacking! We do understand that these are more crash pads and we were supposed to be out enjoying the city. Surry Hills is a 10-15 minute walk or Pitt Street in the other direction in about 10-15 minutes too. We used Museum station, which is only a few direct stops from both the airports and Circular Quay. The quality of the fittings more than made up for the overall size (which we knew about on booking, but the experience felt different), with a beautiful tiled bathroom (behind a sliding door), which had a separate shower and toilet. The room was very quiet and felt well sound-proofed. The sofa was covered with our clothes and suitcases so we didn't get to use it much. One mild disappointment was instant coffee in packets - come on Ace! The breakfasts in Loam were excellent quality, reasonably priced and speedy - eg Turkish eggs, French toast with bananas, poached egg and salmon with loads of greens. Great coffee down here thankfully. There were a couple of events during our stay, which were poundingly noisy on entry to the hotel, but we couldn't hear a thing on the eleventh floor. It made the hotel feel lively and buzzing. Crucially, the service was superb - for example, a missing hairdryer was brought up within five minutes. And when our return flight was cancelled (the dream), reception helped sort our room for another night.

We had an amazing stay at Ace Hotel Sydney. The hotel has a unique industrial-chic boutique design with a warm, modern atmosphere that feels both stylish and inviting. Every detail of the interior is thoughtfully designed, making the hotel stand out from typical chain hotels. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet, even with restaurants located downstairs. The bed was very comfortable, and the heating and air conditioning worked perfectly. We also appreciated the abundance of power outlets and the smart TV, which made it easy to connect our phones and stream our favorite content. The location is excellent, with many cafés, restaurants, and popular attractions within walking distance. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. To top it all off, the room offered a beautiful view that made our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Ace Hotel Sydney to anyone looking for a stylish, comfortable, and well-located hotel in Sydney. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A genuinely special stay. Booked a solo night as a pre-baby reset (mum to a toddler, second on the way) and Ace delivered exactly what I needed — the room was generous, the bath was a dream, and the in-room record player was the kind of detail that makes you slow down. Dinner and mocktails/cocktails downstairs were excellent. Staff were warm without being intrusive. I've already been telling every mum friend I have to book a night for themselves. Will absolutely be back.
Fabulous hotel that earns its 5-star rating. Loved my luxurious room overlooking Surry Hills and its vintage warehouse buildings. Beautiful sheets, great shower, lots of space. Loam serves excellent food and coffee - try the smoked salmon potato rosti!. A true restorative break. Just what I needed.
What we liked about the hotel was its aesthetics. Very chic with modern designs in the public areas as well as the rooms. Staff are friendly and helpful. It is also well located and we enjoyed the convenience and accessibility. Our room also had a great view, it was equipped with a good Bluetooth speaker and it was nice to enjoy our own music whilst chilling in the room. What we did not like was the quality of the bedding. Too soft and my husband woke with an aching back. Housekeeping was also not very conscientious. Didn’t wash or upkeep the sink area, didn’t refill facial tissues. Also the pillowcases didn’t smell like they were changed. My hair stank just after one night of sleep. Facial towels were also stained on its first use. I’d have expected more excellence in this area, you’re running a hotel after all.
