The Westin Qingdao

1 star out of 5 - I’m giving one star to the housekeeping aunty who cleaned my room. Her level of service and attitude should be an example to all Westin Qingdao staff. I've made an official complaint and requested a refund, I paid extra for an upgrade because based on the room description on the Bonvoy website, they promised it was a "newly renovated room", the upgrade included the executive lounge access. 1. Room - very outdated, even though I thought paying for the executive floor was supposedly newly renovated - 2. Executive Lounge - overall experience is very bad - Opening hours - unlike other executive lounges, usually there is breakfast. This lounge opened between 12pm - 9pm - At 630pm (start of Happy Hour is at 530pm), they ran out of wine glasses, so I poured wine into a champagne glass (the only glass standing), which was cracked. So I had to drink red wine out of paper cup. I mean come on! 3. Food was unacceptable to Bonvoy Westin standards - Breakfast area is extremely disorganised, crowded and tongs were used for both raw and cooked items, food was very average at best, most items were not heated properly, it honestly looked like a zoo - Jan 3rd - Late night room service food ordered a club sandwich - What came was the farthest thing from a club sandwich 4. Could not find the Westin Heavenly Spa, I was directed incorrectly by your gym staff 5. Lack of Managers around and English speaking staff overall.

This Westin Hotel is perfect for seeing Qingdao and the surrounding areas, also very business friendly for its location and proximity to airport. Excellent breakfast buffet with many options. Indoor heated pool, subway is close by and walking along the sea front is steps away. Enjoy the comfort of Westin and the local foods and shopping nearby.

Aged room and facility. Room has only central AC meaning you don’t have control over your room temperature. They will send you standalone heater. Location is great close to mall and subway.

The Westin Qingdao offers a perfect blend of comfort, service, and location. Rooms are spacious and spotless, with stunning views and excellent amenities. Staff are professional and attentive, and the breakfast buffet is varied and high quality. Ideal for both business and leisure highly recommended.
