Four Points By Sheraton Suzhou

Clean and comfortable rooms, great location for Suzhou Industrial Park. Easy to walk. The lake is also really pretty and great for a walk or run. Breakfast had a lot of variety and a mix of Chinese and Western food. My (non-smoking) room smelt a little smokey.

rooms are big but needs renovation, their central ac can only function as heater not for cooling, could not imagine living in this hotel during summer time, wifi is non existent, and imposible to connect, if you are a business traveller better find another hotel

Having stayed at the other three SPG properties in Suzhou, I thought I would try the Four Points as well. Check in was quick and I was informed about property features. My suite on the 18th floor was reasonably sized with a separate living room and had panoramic views of Dushu lake and Suzhou Industrial Park. Air conditioning wasn't switched on when I arrived, but thankfully the AC worked well. There was a happy hour spread in a small lounge area next to the lobby bar from 5:30-7:30 with some drinks and light bites. The fruit platter they sent was decent. Breakfast was quite good with bacon, tomatoes and an egg station, along with the usual Asian offerings- better than what was on offer at the Le Meridien in Suzhou bay. The location isn't exactly ideal for sightseeing, but there's a subway station within walking distance and a small mall/convenience store across the road.

Four Points Suzhou is located directly next to the Dushu Lake and provides rooms with a wonderful view of the lake. There are numerous nice restaurants and small convenience stores in close walking distance. The rooms are equipped with large beds, a minibar, TV, A/C, LAN and WiFi, bath robes, umbrellas, hair dryers and a small work space. I enjoyed my stay (4 weeks+) in the hotel a lot and the only thing keeping me from awarding 5 stars is the fact that the bathrooms don't quite hold up to closer inspection and show signs of mould. The hotel offers room service, laundry and shoe shining and a spa with a pool, saunas and a gym. The breakfast provides a large variety of foods from standard international dishes (eggs, bacon, toast, oatmeal, baked beans, bread), salad, various Danish and cerials to local food like noodles, vegetables and fruit. There are no cold cuts on offer and a very small selection of cheese. The staff is very polite and friendly and although not every staff member speaks fluent English usually someone that does is on hand in no time.
