Lotte City Hotel Daejeon

I chose this place solely for its perfect location right next to the bakery. I could even check how long the lines were right from my window! My only issue was that the lady at the front told me 50,000 Won for checking in just 50 minutes early. Seriously? I’ve stayed at so many hotels, including luxury hotels over the world, and an early check-in of less than an hour has never been a problem. I booked the hotel a night for $125ish but 50 min early check in would be half of that.

This hotel is just across the street from the Daejeon Convention Center. They are served by a stop of local buses, but are more than 2 KM from the closest subway station. It is very easy to request for taxies if you have installed necessary APPs. This area is close to the Hanbat Arboretum, where you may enjoy the flowers and shade.

Average stay. Major issue with the front desk travel guidance: staff instructed me to head to Dusan bus stop to purchase a ticket for the direct bus to Incheon Airport. Upon arriving, I found this small street stop does not sell intercity airport bus tickets at all, forcing me to backtrack and waste considerable extra time and energy. I eventually successfully bought my valid departure ticket directly at Daejeon Cheongsa Bus Terminal as printed on my ticket. The hotel’s incorrect transit advice created unnecessary travel stress right before my flight. The room itself was fine with no other problems, so I cannot give a low score, but this misinformation seriously impacted my departure experience.

The Star rating system seems all wonky here for some reason. They said this is a three star hotel but felt more like 4, or 5 Star Hotel. Nice and clean. Well thought out. Good buffet. Good service. Great location.
