The hotel is a little away from the road but it does not feel isolated at all. The truly exceptional thing about the hotel however was the food. The best food I had in Iceland, probably best I ever had in all of Europe. I will come back for the food alone. I recommend the mushroom soup, the reindeer carpaccio and for sure the scallops. The staff was friendly and helpful to arrange any tourist activities that interest you.

Hotel Ranga was our first night spent in Iceland on our Honeymoon. We got in late but were taken care of by their bartender Peter who made us wonderful drinks and gave suggestions from their bar menu. We unfortunately did not get to try their Michelin Guide rated dinner. If you want to feel like you are staying at a friend's beautiful hunting lodge, this is the place. It is on a gorgeous landscape, feels cozy, and offers hot tubs, sauna, and breakfast. Their attention to detail in making our honeymoon special was a touch we miss out on in most US hotels now.
Stunning small luxury hotel we stayed one night during our trip. Rooms were small but comfortable. Outside hottub is looking to the stunning view of river, wild summer flowers, birds chirping around and absolutely peaceful. Breakfast buffet has a rich selection and coffee was delicious.
In one word - AWESOME, It’s start with the beautiful venue of the restaurant, continues with the great recommendation of Razvan, our waiter. The mushroom soup was superb, reach with tastes. The scallops were perfect. For the main we took the beef and Enjoyed the lamb. The lamb was Devine, smooth, deliciously and I highly recommend. We tried a glass of red wine from Sonoma county , the Cabernet Sauvignon was smooth, and enjoyable. In short, the restaurant is highly recommended and justify the prices. Many thanks to the restaurant manager.
We enjoyed a wonderful 2 nights at Hotel Rangá. The hotel was comfortable, welcoming, and a great place to re. The hot tubs were a highlight, offering a peaceful setting with the soothing sounds of the river and birds all around. The breakfast was good, and the dining experience was excellent. We had a fantastic group dinner on our first night, and the reindeer was a standout dish. It was my first time trying it, and it was delicious. On our second night, the manager went above and beyond by setting up our group in a private dining room and putting on the USA vs Australia World Cup match for us. It made for another memorable evening. Would definitely recommend!
