Concrete building. One of the best that we had experienced in Iceland. We didn’t hear any sound despite the heavy rains and howling winds at night. Nice size room with a solid bed. Had a great night of sleep. The only miss for me is the inconsistent water temperature for the shower. It seems like the thermostat is not working properly. The star is their breakfast. Quality spread and delicious local produce and deli. Service at the restaurant is great too!
The hotel looks new and well maintained. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and everything was clean and tidy. Our room was quiet, which made it easy to rest and sleep well. Breakfast was very good, with a nice selection of food and fresh products. I would definitely recommend this hotel. One of the few downsides was the restaurant at the hotel. While the presentation of the dishes looks nice, the food itself was a bit underwhelming. The flavors felt quite simple and not fully developed, and some dishes seemed more like a combination of separate ingredients rather than well-balanced meals.
A perfect stay in the South - Highly recommended! After a long day of driving, staying at Hotel Klaustur was the best decision we made. From the moment we checked in, the service was impeccable,the staff was incredibly welcoming, professional, and attentive to every detail. The rooms were spotless, modern, and very comfortable, providing the perfect rest. What truly stood out was the dining experience; the food was exceptional, fresh, and prepared with care,a complete contrast to some tourist traps we encountered elsewhere. It’s rare to find a place that excels in both hospitality and culinary quality. If you are traveling through southern Iceland, do not hesitate to stay here. It was a 5-star experience in every way!
I can’t thank the hotel enough for the exceptional service and comfort they provided during the orange alert. The breakfast selection was excellent as well. I would happily give them five stars again and again. Great location in between Vik and Jokulsarlon
After reading reviews on this hotel I was a little bit concerned about it but it was yhe only hotel left when I booked. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at this adorable little hotel. The rooms were cleaned and modern. The breakfast was delicious amd the location was perfect for me as I was traveling to the east side of the island. The one thing I would say is that the bed was not too bad but it was quite soft, I did one night here and was fine but I could see after 3 or 4 nights where my back would have been sore. I also felt very safe here and as a solo traveler that was very important to me
