The room was very comfortable and beautiful, and we were lucky to get an upgrade! The location is excellent—perfect for resting after a glacier hike. There was even a waterfall right outside our window, which was gorgeous. The hotel also has an on-site restaurant serving dinner and breakfast. While the prices weren't cheap, it's completely understandable given Iceland's high cost of living and the remote location. Overall, we had a fantastic rest here! ❤️

The Fosshotel is one of the best in Iceland. We loved the sauna/spa/hot tubs and the convenient location. The staff was very accommodating to our requests and made us feel welcome. The vegan options at the bar and restaurant were much appreciated. This was our second time staying and we can’t wait to come back!
Amazing rooms, views and service, and great understanding of dietary restrictions, especially celiac disease. It was my birthday while I was there and they provided an amazing dessert in the restaurant and made a special bday cake they left in my room for me. My friend made request for a gf bday cake and they specially designed the cake. So impressed!! It is a truly exceptional culinary experience here. And hiking beautiful canyons are a short drive away, same with glacier lagoon and Vestrahorn.
We are a family of four and stayed at this hotel on June 4th,2026 after visiting the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. I can honestly say this was one of the hotels we were most impressed with. The rooms are beautiful, modern, and clean. We stayed in two double rooms, each 20 square meters, which was just right. What I loved most was the buffet breakfast with its wide variety of food and the complimentary outdoor hot spring bath. The buffet breakfast here is incredibly varied and excellent value for money (4700 ISK per person) (but likely cheaper if booked in advance). The staff is very attentive. The breakfast food is delicious, fresh, and constantly replenished. It starts with drinks including water, orange juice, apple juice, mixed fruit juice, and ice. There are cold cuts like smoked salmon, ham, salami, and cheese, as well as vegetables like cucumber and tomato. There are plenty of cereals, milk and yogurt, chia pudding, strawberry topping, various jams, Nutella, peanut butter, bread, and croissants. Milk options include full-fat milk, lactose-free milk, oat milk, and almond milk. Warmed dishes like eggs, which include boiled, scrambled, and fried eggs, along with sausages, bacon, potatoes, and baked beans. Sweet items like chocolate cake, muffins, waffles, and pancakes. Fresh fruits include melon, bananas, and apples. The tea is of good quality, and the coffee is brewed with a high-quality machine, offering a wide variety of choices, including cappuccino, espresso, latte, hot chocolate, mocha, etc. The restaurant also offers panoramic views of the surrounding nature.
Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon was the most expensive accommodation of our trip, but the experience was disappointing. There was no staff to help with luggage. The front desk assigned our room and our friends' room at opposite ends of the hotel. Our initial room’s door couldn't lock, and we had to wait a long time for a response. We were eventually moved to a "sea view" room, but there was no ocean in sight. The room was too dark, and the bed was far too small and soft—I felt like I was sinking and couldn't even turn over. Furthermore, there was no kettle to boil water. The bathroom design was also poor, as the clothes hooks were placed on the shower wall where they would easily get wet. As there are no other restaurants nearby, we had to eat at the hotel restaurant. However, the service was mediocre; the server even missed one of our friends when pouring water. The dinner menu was overpriced with limited choices. On the plus side, the breakfast buffet was much better than the dinner. The only highlight of the hotel was the hot tubs; they were nice and hot, though they can get quite crowded due to their small size.
